The tipping point is that magic moment when an idea, trend, or social behavior crosses a threshold, tips, and spreads like wildfire. This widely acclaimed bestseller, in which Malcolm Gladwell explores and brilliantly illuminates the tipping point phenomenon, is already changing the way people throughout the world think about selling products and disseminating ideas.
“A wonderful page-turner about a fascinating idea that should affect the way every thinking person looks at the world.” –Michael Lewis
An intellectually-inspiring book by all accounts – I thoroughly enjoyed this.
The Tipping Point was my first introduction to Gladwell. I found the writing to be a bit close to what Dubner and Levitt had done with Freakonomics, which I quite liked.
I’m well aware of the fact that he draws a lot of criticism for cherry picking research to support …
The first book by Gladwell that I read. Very thought-provoking and really helps you understand how various social circumstances come into being. I found myself shaking my head in agreement and recognition of so many of the stories and theories he shared throughout the book.
Small benefits people have over others can sometimes push the scales heavily on their side. There comes an inflection point in many situations after which the whole situation takes an entirely different turn. Again tactful narrative and interesting examples make this an engaging read from Gladwell.
The Tipping Point was a mind-opening glimpse into how trends start, and what causes them to grow. Highly recommend.
I love books that are a little self help, a little how our brains work and some good stories to boot. Malcolm’s books are all of that and more. I have learned a lot about what motivates people, how to succeed and be more disciplined because of this book!
wonderful, interesting, opened my eyes.
What’s not to love about this book? When building a business starting a trend or changing your own behaviour, finding the exact moment you reach the tipping point is when you know you’re going to be successful. Gladwell is a fantastic storyteller so the lessons are eminently approachable.
Could have been half the number of pages and delivered the same message and impact.
Explains many of the key business ideas in a new and useful format
Just read anything Gladwell writes – he is alway thought provoking, inspiring and never a waste of time!
Malcolm Gladwell uses his own original style to present the story of that small period in time or slightest of action that shaped history.
I read this over several visits to a bookstore coffee shop. It was informative and a good read for anyone who works with groups of people. I have used my learnings in life both inside and outside my office.
I love all Malcolm Gladwell’s books – he is brilliant, informative, original, fun and inspiring. He can actually change the way one sees the world. How many authors can do that? If you want to know which book of his to start with, I would say, “The Tipping Point.”
Bit long-drawn and old-fashioned but still very informative.
A great read, as always, from Gladwell.
Gladwell always thinks outside the box while being in it.
Classic and timeless business read. I find myself going back to reference it often.
The Tipping Point changed how I think about how ideas and how they spread. The cover is perfect as the tilted match hints at the power of a little tiny match to start a bonfire. Malcolm Gladwell clearly and brilliantly reveals the surprising ways that ideas spread. This book is worth its weight in gold for any business owner. It is a must-read, in …
Thought provoking and fun to read. Glad well looks at things through a different lens.
An excellent source for answering the question “Why?”.
