Audrey Niffenegger’s innovative debut, The Time Traveler’s Wife, is the story of Clare, a beautiful art student, and Henry, an adventuresome librarian, who have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was thirty-six, and were married when Clare was twenty-three and Henry thirty-one. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: … Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity in his life, past and future. His disappearances are spontaneous, his experiences unpredictable, alternately harrowing and amusing.
The Time Traveler’s Wife depicts the effects of time travel on Henry and Clare’s marriage and their passionate love for each other as the story unfolds from both points of view. Clare and Henry attempt to live normal lives, pursuing familiar goals–steady jobs, good friends, children of their own. All of this is threatened by something they can neither prevent nor control, making their story intensely moving and entirely unforgettable.

I read this book years ago and remember struggling to finish. I still cannot believe they made it into a movie.
I’ve always loved this book. I love a good love story. This one can break your heart but you have to read it.
Interesting premise and well carried out. Good characters and an enjoyable read.
I really enjoyed the book. It is not linear, it jumps time every chapter that ties at the end. This bothered a lot of people.
Did not meet my expectations.
One of my favorites. Fascinating approach to time travel.
TOOOO much fantasy ….. YUK !!!
Good read. Good ending
Something different in entertainment.
Parts of it were just too hard to read.
I think what i found frustrating about this tale is the fact that the wife was so devoted to her time traveler spouse that she forgot about her own life. Actually left me a little disappointed.
A fun read. Interesting twists.
I really enjoyed this book. It was different and made me think about “what if.”
Whatever you expect from this book, it isn’t!
I didn’t really enjoy this. It was tragic. Also frustrating that the couple was upset so many times. Not my type of book.
Wow! A great read.
I love this book. It has that “what if” factor. A good page turner.
Great love story with an unusual premise. Well written.
This is one of my favorite books. I enjoyed the unusual reality that she made seem plausible, and used to explore the couple’s relationship.
Took me two tries to get into this book, but on the second try I was hook. Really enjoyed the story.
