The Time Traveler’s Magic
A Time-Travel Paranormal Romance (Magic Bound Saga, Book 1)
By: Anna Applegate
Narrated by: Aaron Shedlock, Sarah Puckett
I enjoyed this audiobook immensely, it is well written with interesting storylines that are captivating from start to end. I knew this was going to be an amazing series as soon as I started the prequel, “The Time Traveler’s Awakening”, I highly recommend starting with that book, it is a quick read and/or listen and it will give you more insight and understanding of who some of the characters are and how they first met. This book picks up soon after the prequel ends, Ember’s Mom is comatose and the doctors have no clue what is going on with her. Ember has no recollection her travels in to the past or those she met. She feels she is being watched and followed, when someone is after her she escapes to another time where she meets Rane Andersson again, though she has no idea they had already met. It was a brief but not an uneventful encounter but she gets back home where she learns all the details of who she is and what she can do and what she must do to try to find a way to save her mother. I loved how everything plays out in this book, the story is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, action, twists and turns, thrilling and suspenseful moments, some heartfelt and emotions moments too. Anna Applegate is a gifted author with an imaginative mind, she created an original and fascinating story here with equally fascinating characters. She is doing an awesome job bring the different paranormal beings together, the magical time travelers, Vampires and shifters. I am looking forward to what comes next for these amazing characters. Thank you for another fantastic adventure.
And for the fabulous narration, Sarah Puckett and Aaron Shedlock are talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They continue to bring these characters to life, giving each their own unique voice and personality. They are doing an awesome job portraying each character, taking each role and making it their own. Sarah Puckett plays Ember’r role with perfection, she is great portraying all the other characters as well. Aaron Shedlock’s Rane is perfection too. They set the perfect tone for the story, capture all the characters emotions and project them into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and it is always a pleasure to listen to their work. Thank you for another amazing listen.

The Time Traveler’s Magic (Magic Bound Saga Book 1)
By: Anna Applegate
5 out of 5 stars
The story The Time Traveler’s Magic (Magic Bound Saga Book 1) by Anna Applegate is a paranormal romance/fantasy book. It is a story that I loved reading and found myself getting lost in the pages. I enjoyed reading about the characters of Ember Brighton and Rane Andersson. Ember is a young woman who is intelligent, strong, and stubborn. She finds herself with a crumbling life and then with those she loves in danger. It is then that she meets Rane. Rane is a man that feels an attraction and pull towards Ember. She haunts his very thoughts. She finds that she must trust him. Will she be able to save the ones she loves and fix the balance of time itself? Will Rane be able to help her? What does the future hold for Rane and Ember? Read this book to find out. This is a story that has Ember with more questions than answers. Will she find the answers that she seeks? This is a book that includes action, danger, magic, vampires, and shifters. If you love the paranormal like I do you will find yourself unable to pull yourself away from the story until the very end. I grew to care about Ember with every chapter that I read, and I wanted her to succeed and be happy. I also enjoyed reading about the secondary characters that are introduced in the story and who interact with Rane and Ember. This is a book I would highly recommend reading.
I loved this time travel fantasy romance by Anna Applegate. (I mean, of course I did, right? There’s PIRATES, and we all know how I love me some paranormal pirates!)
Not only was the plot entertaining (and much easier to follow than I find most time travel romances to be), but I absolutely fell in love with these characters.
I can’t wait to read the next in the series! Anna Applegate is a new immediate purchase for me!
A fun, fast-paced adventure/romance.
Audiobook version: 4 stars overall, 4 stars story, 4 stars narration
This time travel/paranormal romance and urban fantasy is very entertaining. It has very low steam. It is not the best urban fantasy that I have ever read, but the fast-paced plot and lovable characters kept me enthralled. This book #1 is actually the second book of the series, and you must read book #0.5 first. The heroine Ember is pretty cool. Although she occasionally gets on my nerves a little bit, I like her bravery and intelligence. The hero Rane and his sidekick Destin are my favorite characters. They are immortal vampires, nice guys, warriors, and former Vikings. I love their subtle humor and swashbuckling style. This book ends on a slight cliffhanger, which makes me eager to listen to the next one. I recommend this series to anyone who wants a light, action-packed, romantic urban fantasy.
I didn’t really like Sarah Puckett’s narration – 3 stars from me. She narrated about half of the chapters. Her character voices are not always distinct from each other. I played the audiobook on 1.2x speed so that Sarah Puckett’s semi-Valley-Girl accent was not noticeable, and I rather liked her narration that way. Aaron Shedlock did a 5-star job with his chapters from Rane’s point of view. His voice is so sexy, and he has an excellent sense of humor. I don’t always agree with his accent choices, but he makes every character sound distinctive. He is equally skilled at male and female voices.

She is going to keep fighting but it may just be coming to an end and it could be her last fight. He needs to destroy her and all she loves to gain the upper hand. How will she fight it all? Can she keep everyone safe? What happens if she fails? See f she can survive it all

Someone is watching her from the shadows. And stopping him could change history. Fans of the Outlander and A Shade of Vampire series will be hooked on the newest time-traveling, paranormal romance saga!
Ooh, a time-traveling romance! Ever since I read Outlander, I’ve had a soft spot for them, and if you add in a mysterious hot guy, I’m there!
The Time Traveler’s Magic did not disappoint!!
After becoming completely intrigued by The Time Traveler’s Awakening, the prequel novella, I couldnt wait to continue the story. Picking up where the prequel left off, the story just keeps getting better. Action throughout and twists that I did not see coming. I am thoroughly enjoying this series! Great audio narration too!
I love this series! Ember and Rane’s story picks up where the prequel left off, but without Ember remembering ever meeting Rane. This book’s action packed with shifters, vampires and time travelers and I need to keep on going with the next book, since it ends on a bit of a cliffy. Sarah Puckett and Aaron Shedlock’s narration is excellent as always.
Loved this book! It has pirates, adventure and all the things!!!
The Time Traveler’s Magic is an intriguing story with many twists and turns. There is suspense, danger, action, intrigue, romance, passion, and love. It will keep you captivated from the beginning and takes you on a exciting ride that you never want to end. Bravo!!

Time travel, magic, pirates, vampires, mystery, passion.. what’s not to like? The story is interesting, but I wish at time it moved a bit faster. The characters are all well descripted and also very interesting, including the bad guy. It’s overall well written and it left me with the desire to read more of the series. The narrators are definitely good readers and I believe specifically Aaron was the perfect choice here as his British accent is fantastic, but sometimes he overacts sounding like he is hosting a show more than acting. Too bad because when he doesn’t do that, he is brilliant and has a great voice. I have received a free copy of this audiobook and i am voluntarily leaving a review.
The Time Traveler’s Magic (A Time-Travel Paranormal Romance (Magic Bound Saga, Book 1) brings a intriguing story of magic shifters, pirates and vampires in a time travel romance. I recommend listening to the prequel first as I felt i was missing something and felt a bit confused. I would have preferred and enjoyed listening more if I was able to listen to the prequel first.
Narrators Aaron Shedlock and Sarah Puckett were the best part of this listen. The story was confusing without knowing the background but these two made it entertaining.
I highly recommend listening to the prequel first for the most pleasure.

Magic Bound Saga, Book 1

This is such an exciting story, I am loving this series. Picking up right where the prequel left off, we have Ember pushed into time travel. No idea what is happening, she finds out just how important her life is. She meets Rane, a vampire pirate, and he keeps popping up just when she needs him, making him suspect. Traveling back and forth, Ember collects more and more information on her true calling. It’s an incredible journey, with exciting characters and a slow burn romance that just keeps the heart waiting. Danger eminent, lives on the line, secrets revealed, the story ends on a bit of a cliffhanger! Applegate is creating fantastic characters for his story. Ember is interesting. She is smart, and I love how she is accepting of her mission as she learns her past and her future. Rane is man we all want to protect us. There each time she needs him, he worms his way into our hearts. The secondary cast enhances the story, bringing information, fear and love . I am looking forward to the next installment of this series to see where Ember and Rane go!
Sarah Puckett and Aaron Shedlock are our storytellers and boy can they tell a story. Puckett is incredible as Ember. She has a lot of emotional turmoil to get through, and with her inflections, we can feel exactly where Ember is. Shedlock as Rane is perfection. He is strong, and not silent! Bringing Rane to life as the hero comes through with every breath. I love these two and look forward to their next collaboration.

This was my first Anna Applegate’s book. This is the first book in the Magic Bound Saga, a Time-Travel Paranormal Romance with pirates, vampires, and shifters. This story continues where the prequel to the Magic Bound Saga left off. I was a little lost at first, and therefore, for a better understanding of Ember and Rane’s backstory, I highly recommend you to listen to the prequel, The Time Traveler’s Awakening, before this one. Ember and Rane’s slow burn romance is intriguing and complex. The characters are well developed, and interesting. The storyline is original, intricate, and entertaining, filled with action, intrigue, and secrets. Sarah Puckett and Aaron Shedlock did a fantastic job with the narration. Looking forward to listen to The Time Traveler’s Vampire, the next book in the Series. #TheFlock #AudiobookObsession #PinkFlamingoProductions
This is a really interesting listen, with a fascinating premise. I’m looking forward to more.
Ember’s struggling to make ends meet after her father died in a car accident that has also left her mother in a coma. What Ember doesn’t know is that she has supernatural powers, but her memories have been blocked. She doesn’t remember Rane, the man that mysteriously shows up to help her when she’s in peril.
Ember is unsure of her self, but with Rane’s help, she learns so much about herself, her powers and her strength. Rane is witty, charming, determined and sure of himself, and he clearly has deep feelings for Ember, and wishes she could remember her feelings for him. They have a lot of tension, witty banter, heat and chemistry that comes through in the narrative.
Aaron Shedlock and Sarah Puckett do a great job narrating. This charming, wry, witty character is one that Aaron Shedlock always excels at, which is why he’s one of my favorite narrators. Though I’m less familiar with Sarah Puckett, her narration is enjoyable and I’ll look for her works going forward as well.

This turned out to be a very interesting and engrossing story. 4.3 or 4.4 stars, and solidly entertaining. Ember is a time traveler, but doesn’t discover this until she accidentally travels back in time to a pirate ship captained by the charismatic Raine. But according to him, they’ve met before, and the mystery deepens (there is a prequel book that fills in that gap quite nicely as well). Ember’s mom is in the hospital after a car crash that also killed her father, and to try to pay the bills, she’s working at a re-purposed old pirate ship turned restaurant. As strange people start appearing, and strange voices can be heard in the back areas of the restaurant, she finds herself flung into the past. Then she learns vampires and shifters are real, and people have been keeping other fairly big secrets from her for her whole life. As the story progresses and more details are brought to light, the connection between Raine and Ember seems to get stronger, and the mystery continues to deepen. There is a decent amount of action, a good amount of slow burn romantic tension, and the story concludes leaving you wanting more, with lots of loose ends and a bit of a cliffhanger. Overall, very enjoyable, and I’m looking forward to the next book!
The narrators are great, very well suited for the characters. I’m already a big fan of Sarah Puckett, and Aaron Shedlock does a very good job with Raine, which enhanced my overall enjoyment of the story.
Okay first off, I’m hooked at the very thought of time travel which had me enthralled with this book. Add in the pinch of magic dust with all the supernatural characters with the time travel storyline and you have the recipe for a tremendously great book.
Devoured it! I absolutely fell in love with these characters! I found it to be full of action and there was a sad point when I felt bad for Ember, tons of heat between the characters too. Can’t wait to continue reading this series.
The Time Traveler’s Magic by Anna Applegate is the first book in the Magic Bound Saga. Ember Brighton has been pushed into another time and must figure out what to do and why this has happened. This is a great time traveling fantasy with supernatural/paranormal elements. This is a fun read that kept me wanting more. I enjoyed the characters and the story. I also enjoyed there were plenty of mysteries that Ember was trying to unravel. I look forward to the next book in this series and reading more from Anna Applegate in the future.
