As usual, wonderful character development, and hard to put down!
Really enjoy all her books maybe because the location is in the South. AlwYs has the element of suspense an romance which I enjoy. Look forward to next books!
good, enjoyed this book and all the characters, sad at some points
Beautifully written
Karen White – never disappoints me! Love her work!
One of my favorite books by this author! Loved it!
Very different. Good book
One of the best books I’ve read lately. I love this author and have read many of her books.
I enjoyed this book overall. The story was great even if the writing was, at times, heavy handed. Too much description of unimportant details like the architecture, almost no real descriptions of the characters… bits and pieces you get to glue together yourself. The author enjoys using big words for no real reason and then uses the same odd word choice twice in the same paragraph so as to call attention to the fact that her thesaurus game is on point. Lastly, we are a tad hung up on sweetgrass baskets but… to each their own. Over all though it didn’t distract too badly from a very entertaining story line and you found yourself reading page after page waiting to see where the story went next.
I enjoyed thisbook. It was a good light read for me especially after having read several books related to WW2 & the holocaust. It had a couple of interesting twists to keep it interesting. Somewhat predictable.
wonderful book, great ending!
This is the best book I’ve read in a long while. It’s one that stays with you long after you’ve finished. Deeply moving, richly developed, deftly written, I felt I was observing the story, not merely reading it. Just…wow. I will read more from this author.
I thought it was a very good story and that she is a good, descriptive writer. I probably also liked it because I had been to Edisto Island.
Basically , it was a good , take me away kind of book
I highly recommend this book. Although fiction, it was based on real life events.
This is a great story. I like the way the book is written from the perspective of a few of the different characters. There is a great message in the book also. I love the characters and flow. There is a little bit of suspense also.
