When Sadie Holliday finds her six-year-old turned into a bear cub in the kitchen, she knows she has to get help. She has no idea how to raise a young shifter. But the boy’s father is long gone, and the town’s local alpha is a harsh beast of a man, Dante Oberon. Even after she meets him and feels the pull of attraction between them, she’s not at all sure he’s someone she wants in her son’s life.… life.
Dante’s getting along just fine, thank you very much. Townspeople may look at his shifters askance, but they’re no longer the out-of-control gang of thugs that they were under the previous alpha. They hold down jobs, and they keep their tempers reined in—mostly. When they don’t or can’t, Dante takes care of it. It works.
Or at least, he thinks it’s working until he sees his life through the eyes of the sexy, fearless single mom who comes to him asking for help with her son. Suddenly, he’s less sure of himself and his methods. But can he afford to be the kind of alpha who loves?
Can he afford not to be?

Who is the alpha here
The author has outdone herself with this book! This snarly alpha may make you rethink relationships in more than one way. Thank goodness for the surly teen who knows just what her mother needs, and her adorable baby bear who you can’t help but love. The author has created a world that we would all want to live in and in the process brought us to a HEA sure to get the neighbors talking. I can’t wait to read the next book by this author.
Dante is alpha of a group of shifters (he’s a tiger shifter) the town he lives in know of shifters, they just don’t want to see or associate with them! He owns the local shifter bar. He rules with an iron fist (a little too handy with his fists!) he took over when he beat the last alpha. No time for family, he doesn’t even look on his clan as family or friends (an alpha has to look strong at all times) Sadie has an unwelcome introduction to shifter life when her young son turns into a bear! She can’t rely on her ex husband, so she turns to the local shifters in the bar. They fight their feelings and the towns disapproval, until an incident brings Dante to the realisation that Sadie is his!
** spoiler alert ** Sadie’s life is falling apart. Dante runs his pack with an iron fist. She needs his help, but doesn’t agree with his methods. Will Dante be able to change his ways? Will Sadie find a man who is real?
I loved how these two characters came together and couldn’t help their feelings despite fighting it. I didn’t blame Sadie for being hesitant being she wasn’t a shifter and was struggling with what the men in her past had done. I loved how Dante slowly came to accept their may be another way and that he was willing to take the steps to get there. Good read!
Oh, Lord. (*Deep, world-weary sigh*) I did a dumb thing. Again. I was looking for paranormal romance, so I just typed that into the Amazon search bar and clicked on the first book that had a not-scary cover and a slew of decent reviews and started reading. I should’ve just downloaded a sample, or dug a little deeper into the reviews, but…I didn’t.
Plot overview: Desperate single mom Sadie is forced to accept help from grumpy, scary shifter alpha Dante when she discovers that her young son is actually a shifter.
I had several problems with this one that made me DNF at 24%:
1. First of all, if I walk into my kitchen and find a bear cub, I’m not going to automatically assume that the bear cub is actually my kid when I had no idea he was anything other than a normal human. And when I DID realize it was my kid, I kind of doubt I’d calmly take him to school and head off to work when he changed back into a kid. Seeing your kid shift into a bear MIGHT be cause to stay home that day. Just sayin’. The whole thing tripped my bullshit meter because that’s NOT how a mother would react, and also, wasn’t she at all worried that the kid might shift at school and bite the other kids? Talk about irresponsible parenting!
2. If my teenage daughter who I hadn’t given any money to suddenly had a bunch of money, I’d be asking LOTS of questions and pinning her down pretty quickly. But because Sadie was so tired and stressed out, she pretty much let it go. Again with the irresponsible parenting! That girl could be turning tricks for all you know, dumbass! How about you do some actual adulting and fix things with your kid, huh, Sadie?
3. Dante is the alpha shifter and in the 24% I read, he spent the majority of his time growling and hitting people for no apparent reason. A shifter would ask him a simple question and get a fist to the jaw for their time. Great guy.
4. Speaking of the growling, I briefly considered making a drinking game of the book and taking a shot every time a shifter growled. But I would’ve had alcohol poisoning and died within an hour, so I thought better of it.
5. Sadie, who knows nothing of shifters other than the fact that they exist, is super quick to point out all the ways in which she thinks Dante is doing a bad job leading/controlling his people. Dante thought this made her “feisty”. I think it made her sound like a total idiot. What she did was really no better than having some old white guy who has never read a romance novel mansplain the genre to me. How about you stick to what you know, Sadie, which seems to be limited to how to be a bad parent and counting change at the bank?
So it was with a heavy (and annoyed) heart that I DNF’d and got this book off my Kindle posthaste. I won’t be venturing back into this world anytime soon.

Opposites oft times do attract. Sadie and Dante are definitely opposites. Sadie is a single parent raising a teen girl and a seven yr old boy. She finds herself out of her league when he son surprisingly shifts into a little bear cub one day. Dante is the shifter’s alpha in town and quite a bit rough around the edges. He’s shaped his bunch of monsters into a better pack then they used to be by brute strength. Sadie doesn’t agree with his tactics and goes back and forth with her emotions for him. He in turn is drawn to her strongly. The one thing that bothered me was Sadie had no idea what the pack was like before Dante and wanted him to change his disciplinary methods immediately. Oh well, Sadie’s teenage daughter almost stole the show after a few run ins with Dante. It is a really good book that I was able to read in a day. Fantastic Tiger Shifter Romance!
Sadie and Dante are complete opposites but make for a wonderful fun story. The delightful and interesting characters are complicated but well developed. A unique fast-paced story with plenty of drama, suspense, twists, some funny situations, steamy romance and HEA. I thoroughly enjoyed this tale. Enjoy!

A really good shifter romance.
Sadie is struggling just to keep her own head above water, let alone her two kids. But when her youngest shifts, for the first time, into a bear she knows she needs help. And that help comes in the form of Dante, the local pack alpha, a tiger shifter who is barely holding on himself. Dante isn’t sure he can help Sadie and her kids yet he finds himself helping more than he thought he could. And now he’s wanting to “help” Sadie too…
This is a really good story about how a family isn’t always about blood ties but the emotional connections.

The Tiger’s Love by Amelia Hartley is a wonderful love story. In this story, Sadie a single mother of two finds out at breakfast one morning that her son was a shifter when he changes into a bear cub. This causes Sadie to approach Dante, who is the Alpha of the local pack for help with her son. Dante finds himself entranced with Sadie and her children. This unlikely family and Dante end up in a relationship that is full of love and acceptance. This is a sweet shifter love story that was fun to read and reminds us all that happiness is where you find it.
Sadie knew exactly what had happened when she found a bear in her kitchen where her little boy had been sitting moments before. Her son Nate was a bear shifter. She knew she needed help to get him through this. At least her fifteen year old Alexis had a different father. Ex husband Ian had never revealed he was a bear shifter. What a wastrel with money, and how irresponsible about his son.
Little did Sadie know that she would find herself falling for the Alpha . A steep learning curve for them both. Some physical restraint was necessary, especially dealing with new, large shifters. But from Sadie, and dealing with Nate, Dante learns more about making his pack earn respect- and giving it back to them.
A rough and bumpy road to family and extended family Pack for Sadie and Dante, with some bruises and tears dealing with ex Ian, who suddenly wants to take his son.
Steamy stuff and new family stuff.
Awesome read all around!
