#1 International Best Seller In this electrifying new thriller from the author of Police and The Snowman, Inspector Harry Hole hunts down a serial murderer who targets his victims . . . on Tinder. The murder victim, a self-declared Tinder addict. The one solid clue—fragments of rust and paint in her wounds—leaves the investigating team baffled. Two days later, there’s a second murder: … Two days later, there’s a second murder: a woman of the same age, a Tinder user, an eerily similar scene.
The chief of police knows there’s only one man for this case. But Harry Hole is no longer with the force. He promised the woman he loves, and he promised himself, that he’d never go back: not after his last case, which put the people closest to him in grave danger.
But there’s something about these murders that catches his attention, something in the details that the investigators have missed. For Harry, it’s like hearing “the voice of a man he was trying not to remember.” Now, despite his promises, despite everything he risks, Harry throws himself back into the hunt for a figure who haunts him, the monster who got away.
STARRED REVIEW
“Exceptional . . . Nesbo depicts a heartbreakingly conflicted Harry, who both wants to forget the horrors he’s trying to prevent and knows he has to remember them in all their grim detail.”

As nearly always with Jo Nesbo, this book is extremely violent and not for the faint of heart. It is, however, well written and manages to remain enjoyable in spite of the grisly nature of large parts of the story. I don’t quite know how the author manages that, but he does. Anyone who blurts out that we need more immigrants from Scandavania in the USA has clearly never met the Swedish villains conjured up by Mr. Nesbo (or their Norwegian counterparts); interestingly the author is also a musician and writer of children’s stories. I will not describe the plot- just dive in if you have the will and stomach for it and you will be in for a treat. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and stay away.
When Harry Hole sinks his teeth into a case no one can pry him loose. This is another great book from the entire Jo Nesbo series featuring Hole. Gritty. Tough. Determined. Unrelenting.
Just love him. Can’t wait for the next one!
This is another book by an excellent other who was recomended to me by my brother. Characters are so real and always good story. Recommend highly
Anything Nesbo
Again, another great book by this author I just can’t stop reading him he is such an awesome writer
One of my favorite authors, does not disappoint.
I love reading about poor Harry.
Another masterful novel by Nesbo. Harry Hole, the main character declines and grows from book to book, but always remains an amazingly intuitive thinker and dedicated to righting wrongs despite the personal pain it costs him.
Nesbo’s latest installment in the Harry Hole series is not to be missed. Nesbo grabs the reader and takes them on an unforgettable reading adventure. The key to his success is simple. He makes you love some characters, loathe others, and be intrigued by them all.
In this story, Hole is asked to join in the search for a vampirist killer on the loose. At the same time, he is struggling with family issues. Therefore, the decision as to whether to help or not is a tough one.
This book is a page turner. Just when you think you know who the murderer is, the story takes a twist and you’re back to wondering which characters can be trusted and which may not be what they portray themselves as.
This story can be read as a stand alone but I highly recommend reading the other books in the series first, as this story builds on so much that has been presented in prior books!
I like the character with all of his faults and his brilliant detective work. Another great book!
