THE THIRD FACTOR by S.P. Brown picks up where the first book of the Stonehenge Chronicles, VEILED MEMORY left off. Book II is breath-takingly intense from the start, as Brown masterfully continues to spin his web of mystery and intrigue through so many twists, turns and unforeseen surprises that the reader is loath to blink for fear of missing some vital piece or tidbit of this entrancing tale.
The character growth and development also continues to expand in this book and we learn much more about each one, cementing bonds with each of them that we had formed in book I. Additionally, some fascinating new characters are added, and some of the older characters (sadly, in the case of the “good guys”, and gladly, in the case of the “bad guys”) are eliminated.
This book definitely captures the reader’s interest from page one and refuses to release it until the very last word of the completely unexpected ending.
I am anxiously looking forward to reading Book III to discover how this series concludes. I do recommend THE THIRD FACTOR to everyone who had read the first book, and to anyone who loves a great novel.
The Third Factor is book two in The Stonehenge Chronicles, a magical adventure about a prophecy unfulfilled and a community of evolved beings who live among us. The Third Factor is not my usual kind of read, but the Lord of the Rings is one of my favorite books, and I found myself drawn to the similarities. S.P. Brown brings his fantasy world vividly to life, and I was unable to put the book down. I can’t wait to read the first book.
For thousands of years, the ten clans have managed to keep themselves and their secrets safe. The firstborn of these families are gifted with powers of telekinesis, mindreading, and traveling anywhere in the world through tunnels in a matter of seconds. But now the world and their existence are threatened by one of their own, Prometheus Erazmus, a powerful Puzur (one of the gifted), the leader of the Ad Sagtuku clan, who seeks to control the world. He has stolen the Stones of Sumer with their ancient runes of prophecy. All that stands in his way is Dr. Madeline Alleyn, a linguist, and professor of ancient history and her three daughters Phoebe, Dione, and Rhea, her three firstborn triplets. The triplets are only just beginning to come into their powers, which may be the most powerful the Community has ever known. When their mother disappears, the three siblings must find her, but they can’t do it alone, but whom can they trust?
The adventure is on, and the clock is ticking. The triplets are both the hunters and the hunted, and the world stands on the brink of destruction. If you love fantasy, adventure, mysticism, and magic, you will love The Third Factor.
This is the second book in the Stonehenge Chronicles. Reading the books in order is recommended. The story centers on a woman who can decipher a set of special runes and her triplet teenage daughters who possess magical powers. The girls are on a quest to find their mother who appears to have been captured by enemies. Their mode of transportation: tunnels they create with their mind.
Definitely a magical read.
