This is the 5th book I’ve read written by Megan Mayfair; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the characters.

We follow the journeys of Lottie and Jess as they figure out their next steps and how these friends overcome tragic moments that affect their current lives. You have met the main characters before, if you are already familiar with the stories of the CAFE CHRONICLES:
Lottie, who has trouble to forget the violent attack she witnessed and draws back into herself, and Jess, who breaks up with her fiance/one of her two best friends, because she realises that she does not love him the way she should. When they meet, their friendship grows fast and they help each other to overcome some of their issues. But ultimately they have to make their own decisions.
An interesting book with slightly complicated dynamics, but engaging characters at a difficult crossroad in their lives.
A good read.

This story is told from the alternating point of view of Lottie and Jess who are connected by an apartment, an app Jess develops, and a man. Lottie is still recovering from the trauma of being attacked while running and it has affected her real estate career. Jess broke it off with her fiance Hamish because she is in love with his best friend Carson, but she doesn’t know if he feels the same way. A man in their lives connects both of them and is the result of much conflict in the book. I loved Carson who was a nerd but showed he really cared about Jess. He’s so cute with the cat they rescue. I agree with Jess that living over a bakery is too tempting and I would not be able to restrain myself from being a designated taste tester. Lottie puts up a tough front and she’s jerked around by her selfish boss and the man she’s seeing who keeps blowing hot and cold. But she’s afraid to break free and make a change fearing she will lose her apartment and never regain her love of running. This was a steamy romance, but also a bit of women’s literature as the women in the book play a more central role than the men.
A great book that’s enjoyable and fun to read. The characters are amazing, they’re easy to love, they’re relatable and realistic. The story flows smoothly and holds your attention throughout the book. It revolves around relationships with family, friends and lovers and how they can be complicated and change over time. A bit of humor added in makes it even better.

This is an enjoyable read revolving around complicated relationships with friends, family, and lovers and how they can change over time. This is especially true when the main characters involved are a trio of best friends and the dynamics change into a couple and a third wheel single. Add in a little job related chaos and side humor and you’ll hate for the book to end. I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.
