Years of trying unsuccessfully to conceive a child have broken more than Angie DeSaria’s heart. Following a painful divorce, she moves back to her small Pacific Northwest hometown and takes over management of her family’s restaurant. In West End, where life rises and falls like the tides, Angie’s fortunes will drastically change yet again when she meets and befriends a troubled young woman. … woman.
Angie hires Lauren Ribido because she sees something special in the seventeen-year-old. They quickly form a deep bond, and when Lauren is abandoned by her mother, Angie offers the girl a place to stay. But nothing could have prepared Angie for the far-reaching repercussions of this act of kindness. Together, these two women—one who longs for a child and the other who longs for a mother’s love—will be tested in ways that neither could have imagined.

Realistic. Good story
If you are in the mood to cry your eyes out this is the book for you. Not as good as nightingale or firefly lane but definitely pulls at your heart strings.
Pretty much love any Kristin Hannah book
Always enjoy this author
Thought-provoking. Lovely characters.
Love to true loves and lives in this story. She never disappoints.
Enjoyed
I WOULD READ ANYTHING BY THIS AUTHOR, ONE OF THE BEST
I read anything by this author , I’ve never been disappointed. This book is really real , imperfect characters leading messy tangled lives . Hopeful not fairytale .
Couldn’t put it down. Cried too many times to mention.

Quick read. Thought-provoking although at times a bit contrived. My book club had a good discussion of the many issues brought up in the book.
Another great story by Kristin Hannah. Not a complete fairytale ending but a good ending
Just an easy read that kept me interested.
Once you begin this novel you won’t be able to put it down. A story of strength, survival and unconditional love. Another great read by Kristin Hannah!
A nice feel good book.
Hannah is one of my favorite authors? My only complaint is that she doesn’t publish new books fast enough.
Good
Believable characters. Nice family story.
I love everything I have ever read by Kristin Hannah. She always has very believable characters. I can’t seem to put down her books until I am finished. Make sure you have Kleenex with you when you read her books.
