I normally don’t read these kinds of tales, but I loved this. It is a YA, but good story and I wanted to read more. I think the reason I liked it was two fold, the story was engaging and I didn’t have to really think about it and decipher the hidden theme and meanings.
The Thief is a wonderful book one of a completely compelling fantasy series, and one of my favorite books to recommend to readers of YA fantasy, and books with a twist. Highly recommended.
One of my all time favorite books and favorite characters. Writing intelligent characters can be a bit initmidating, but Gen is the measuring stick by which I always hold all others. He’s smart, consistent, and his motives and actions lace through the story waiting until the end to reveal the brilliance of it all. I gobbled up clues of what would …
Great story, great characters. Loved this story and the two sequels.
I will never tire of re-reading ‘The Thief’ and the entire series surrounding Eugenides. I discover new, subtle hidden gems every time I read these books, and was first inspired to become an author by this very series. I count myself lucky to have stopped my fingertips trailing over countless spines on my highschool library’s shelves, randomly …
Absolutely loved all six books in the series…was kind of sad when I finished. I actually listened to the audiobooks and the reader was incredible. It’s the story of a mythical kingdom and the men and women who ruled and lived there. I’m afraid I don’t make it sound too interesting, but the characters and the plot all work together to make a …
YES, JUST YES, SO MUCH YES. The author is keeping secrets from you and they’re going to make you grin. I’m on book four of the series and I can’t get enough of the way she brings these characters to life. Incredibly unique and engaging storytelling. YES YES YES.
The Thief was one of the first books I ever read all the way through in school. This story effectively turned a non-reader into a reader.
What an original and captivating tale of a thief who is utilized (somewhat against his will) to steal a precious jewel.
His dilemma becomes whether to help them steal this jewel, or keep it for himself.
You’ll …
Megan Turner’s thief Gen is one of the best main characters I have ever read. Not your normal overly-emotional, world-saving young man, but a clever, witty protagonist for a surprising book.
This is and has been my favourite book of all time since I first read it 3 years ago. I love the main character Eugenides and his clever never ending plans. I have read this book 4 times and still love it!
Hmmm! The Thief was ok. It was definitely interesting and entertaining. I was quite enamored with the main character Gen. He is such a mystery, but very sharp and knowledgeable. He has a keen eye and you never seem to quite know what his motive is behind the things he does. But still I liked him a lot. Its definitely been an interesting read and …
Gen’s boasting about his ability to steal ANYTHING lands him in prison. However, it also captures the attention of the magus, the king’s top advisor, who is in need of a good thief. The magus is on a mission to steal and ancient relic called Hamiathes’s Gift for his king. The magus gives Gen a chance to earn his freedom if he helps him on this …
Gen was clever without being annoying, I loved every character, and the setting was beautiful. Can’t recommend this enough!
a view of Nazi Germany through the eyes of a young girl and her family.
A man you’ll love to hate… so does she, but you’ll enjoy falling in lust then in love, so does she. He’s wicked and mean, a total bast… jerk (I don’t like to curse) It he deserves the worst of the worst words for his past actions but he really has a heart as big as Texas and pure gold IF he isn’t trying too hard to make every woman that is …
A good story with a surprising twist
