Sex runs the world. It’s always there, buried just beneath the surface of our everyday lives. Sex drives us, stimulates us, breathes life into us, and when we don’t respect it, our relationships can struggle. That’s where I come into play. My name is Dr. Malcolm Colson, and I’m the therapist. I specialize in relationship therapy as well as sex therapy, and my office is always humming with patients. with patients.
Sean Tillman is my newest patient, and he’s dealing with a familiar problem many men face but won’t admit—he has no idea how to please his woman. While my sessions with him are bearing fruit, my own sex life is being strangled by weeds.
I crave control, and when Ava Pierson starts to break the rules I put in place for our casual but scorching hot relationship, I’m the one grappling to keep things in check.
Sex runs my world, both at work and in my personal life. I help save my patients’ relationships, but sex may just ruin mine.

I really enjoyed this book, I found it made a change to have a different kind of romance. Because although it about a relationship and sex therapist. It’s so much more than that. You do get the whole romance in the patient’s relationship that Dr. Malcolm Colson is trying to help with. As well as the romance that he tries to deny that happening in this life, one that you get to read as well.
I can’t really explain exactly what happens as I believe this book totally needs to be read and experienced first hand with no spoilers at all. I know that that isn’t what people want to hear but that’s the truth. I feel that to spoil it would do an injustice to the author and characters.
I do however recommend it and urge everyone to give it a go. It’s completely different from all other works that I have read by this author but it’s just as good and powerful. But in its own unique way. It’s a great read.

This was an interesting book to read. Two couples lives are followed through the story Becky and Sean a couple in love but having some problems in the bedroom and Malcolm and Ava. The catch? Malcolm is Sean’s therapist. Malcolm’s relationship with Ava is a Dom/Sub one but they are experiencing problems with personal boundaries. It was an interesting read. There are many intense sex scenes that are fun to read. There is a HEA for one of the couples but I won’t spill who. The twist at the end was a little too predictable for me and why I feel this is more a 4 than 5 star read. This is a series and I’m hoping as I read the rating will go up because the writing is mostly excellent. If you want to try a book with a different format this a good one to try.
4.5 stars!!!
This book…oh my… Something different and refreshing and I loved every minute of it!!
Here we meet Dr. Malcolm Colson, who is a relationship and sex therapist… Sean is his patient who is dealing with some issues that most men have or are scared to admit. I love how Malcolm holds no punches and tells it like it is. Truth be told, the advice given can help alot of men in Sean’s situation and that’s what I loved about this book.
While Malcolm is giving advice, he has his own issues going on and her name is Ava. Ava and Malcolm together are something else. Talk about hot! What we learn about him is he LOVES sex and control in all things. As we get invested in Sean and his problems, we get deeper into with Malcolm and his situation.
How does everything play out? Will the advice Malcolm gives Sean help him and what will become of Malcolm and Ava? I loved the idea of this book and I’m so glad the author did something different than what I usually read. Loving it so far and looking forward to the rest of the books in this series!
This was a very unique read for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a quick read but that does not take from the story at all. We have Sean who is dealing with issues in his relationship, so he goes to Dr. Colson. Dr. Colson is amazing at his job as a relationship therapist and he helps Sean tremendously, yet in his own personal life he makes some questionable decisions regarding his relationship. I loved how we got to see both sides of Dr. Colson, how he helped others, and how he had a darker side that needed control. I’m interested to see how the rest of the stories will play out because his friend Ava is a very crazy lady and I’m curious as to what will happen.
The Therapist is the first book in a new series written by W.S. Greer and as the title suggests it’s about a therapist – a relationship and sex therapist to be exact. If you are assuming that there are hot and steamy sex scenes throughout this book, then I can confirm that you’d be right about that.
I loved getting to know Dr Malcolm Colson both in and out of the office. Witnessing him at work was very intriguing and I loved then seeing if his patient would take his advice and if it would help. Outside of work Malcolm likes to have control and his dominant nature was the perfect way for us to see the man practicing what he teaches
I thought The Therapist was a great read and certainly started the series off very well. I am looking forward to seeing what advice the good doctor will give next and to see developments in his personal life too. I have a feeling that he has more than he can handle at home and I can’t wait to see if I’m correct or not!
This book was a fast read which I thoroughly enjoyed. Nice to read a story written with a different point of view. Would recommend. This was my first book by this author. I look forward to reading more. Really liked how the characters interacted and how the author left you hanging a little, but not too much –
I loved this book. The pov done from a male was done perfectly. You could connect with the characters. You could relate to the realistic issues, questions, and advice given by the therapist. This was a new to me author and I highly recommend this book
Malcolm is a therapist who specializes in relationships, but avoids them preferring his more controlled, less emotional interactions with his sub Eva. Sean, his newest patient, is desperate to please his girlfriend, but can’t get out of his own way enough to do it. In helping Sean find a path to a healthy sexual relationship, Malcolm might just find a path to his own.
This is my first read from WS Greer, and will not be my last. I enjoyed the male perspective in the book. My only ask for future is a bit more backstory and character detail. Definitely worth taking a chance on this author!!
Muy buen libro, super recomendado, y el Sr. Geer es una excelente persona, además siempre está pendiente de su fanaticada.
Such a great start! I love how you not only follow Dr. Malcolm Colson but also his patients. Definitely a must read! Looking forward to Shameless!
I enjoyed this book! So glad I decided to read it. I liked the characters and loved the way this book pulled me in and made me forget everything going on in the world for a little while. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

This is the first of a series of books ( a total of four have been announced) that follow the life of Dr. Malcom Colson, couples and sex therapist. In this book, we see how he helps Sean and Becky, but we also see the start of his relationship with Ava, a woman he craves and with whom he knows he’s walking a slippery slope.
This is the first book I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it, it’s a great introduction to Malcolm and what makes him tick. He prides himself in his control and how great he is at helping others, but he also discovers his cravings have put him in a vulnerable position. I like this concept: it’s different and not exclusively based on the main couple.
I found myself pulled out of the story with the repetition of a certain phrase. This is a very common occurrence in the romance genre, and it happens to a lot of authors. I am just one of those “lucky” readers with a brain that grinds to a halt when that happens.
The writing is straightforward, so don’t expect flowery descriptions. However, I don’t feel that the writing style detracts from the story, you just need to be prepared for it. All in all, a solid read, and I definitely want to know what happens with Dr. Colson and Ava and how their relationship evolves.
