NEW YORK TIMES AND USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR “Take my word for it, James Reece is one rowdy motherf***er. Get ready!”–Chris Pratt, all around great guy and star of The Terminal List, coming to Amazon Prime A Navy SEAL has nothing left to live for and everything to kill for after he discovers that the American government is behind the deaths of his team in this ripped-from-the-headlines … behind the deaths of his team in this ripped-from-the-headlines political thriller that is “so powerful, so pulse-pounding, so well-written–rarely do you read a debut novel this damn good” (Brad Thor, #1 New York Times bestselling author).
On his last combat deployment, Lieutenant Commander James Reece’s entire team was killed in a catastrophic ambush. But when those dearest to him are murdered on the day of his homecoming, Reece discovers that this was not an act of war by a foreign enemy but a conspiracy that runs to the highest levels of government.
Now, with no family and free from the military’s command structure, Reece applies the lessons that he’s learned in over a decade of constant warfare toward avenging the deaths of his family and teammates. With breathless pacing and relentless suspense, Reece ruthlessly targets his enemies in the upper echelons of power without regard for the laws of combat or the rule of law.
With “crackerjack plotting, vivid characters both in and out of uniform, and a relentless pace to a worthy finish” (Stephen Hunter, #1 New York Times bestselling author), The Terminal List is perfect for fans of Vince Flynn, Brad Thor, and Nelson DeMille.

A fabulous debut thriller.
Exciting and fast paced. The “Betrayal and losing the family” aspect seems to be the new modus operandi for special ops thrillers. It allows for a protagonist with no immediate ties and a strong motivation.
This is probably the most powerful book I have read in a long time. The author has infused his realize experiences as a SEAL into a story that is gripping in its reality. With a taut style of writing and a thorough understanding of his subject Jack Carr has crafted a book people will be reading and talking a bout for a long time. If you read one book this year, make it The Terminal List
Jack Carr is a retired Navy SEAL who served in numerous theatres throughout his twenty-year stint. His writing is authentic, gripping, and believable.
THE TERMINAL LIST is the first in James Reece series about a SEAL commander whose team was ambushed, leaving all but Reece and another operator dead. The actions that follow are vengeful, exact, rapid, and rewarding. This is a military- and political-thriller, one that is so authentic you might be reminded of some real-life tragedies and despicable politicians.
What I enjoy most is the authenticity that comes from the pen of a man who has been in battle, who has fought in numerous theaters, conventionally and unconventionally, who knows of what he writes and gives the readers a glimpse into the mindset of a true warrior.
I have had the privilege to meet the author. I am grateful for his service to our country and elated that he survived to tell his stories. In addition to being an elite warrior, “Jack Carr” is also a wonderful writer whose stories are riveting. Jack Carr
Brilliant debut from a former Navy Seal. He’s created a protagonist for whom it’s easy to root. He’s does bad things for the right reasons. This is an outstanding start to what I imagine will be a long, successful series of techno-thrillers from an author who knows of what he writes.
Crackerjack plotting, vivid characters both in and out of uniform, and a relentless pace. to a worthy finish. It’s a great start!
This book was excitement from page one, the story, the characters , the action, the locations, the weapons used leave nothing to the imagination. It is definitely a book you will not want to put down. Jack Carr really has written an incredible, No 1 novel in my opinion.
I have been given this book as part of the ARC team and wanted to leave an honest review, now I have double the excitement and heading on too book two.
Great conspiracy novel, it’s believable to anyone paying attention to today’s headline stories. Very well done. Held my attention, I couldn’t wait to get back to it, in fact, I’ve read it twice! Jack Carr is on my “must read” list.
If you love Vince Flynn — you’ll enjoy Jack Carr’s novel The Terminal List. Non-stop action, twists and turns. A great read!
Bravo! Jack Carr is the real deal!
Who knew how terrible the world could be when powerful people use deadly means to increase their wealth and power? Once I started reading, I didn’t want to stop even when some of the scenes were grisly and scary. A thriller with a twist at the end.
The Terminal List by Jack Carr
Series: Yes: James Reece #1
Format: Hardcover
Stars: 4 1/2
Recommend: Yes
Would Reread: Maybe
I ran across book 3 in the goodreads giveaway page and thought it sounded like it might be
similar to Matthew Reilly’s book.
But sadly its nothing like Matthew Reilly. And to compare the two is being unfair.
This book is more realistic, gritty and ummm violent. o_O (And if you have ever read a Matthew Railly book thats saying something!!)
I still enjoyed the characters and the story was awesome.
My only complaint is the pacing of the book, it slowed down in a few spot and then at time it felt like it jumped.
I do look forward to reading the next two books in the series when my library reopens.
I give honest reviews and all my opinions are my own.

Jack’s debut novel kicks ass. Period. Any fan of action thrillers, ala Brad Thor, Vince Flynn, Brad Taylor, MUST read this great novel.
This action packed thriller will keep you reading into the night. Best to pick it up on a weekend. Great storytelling and witty, too.
This was the best book that I read last year. If you like thrillers, mysteries or espionage, read this book!
This is one terrific debut novel by Jack Carr, one that kept me as riveted as I was reading Vince Flynn’s and Brad Thor’s best. The author is a former SEAL veteran, and it is obvious he knows of what he speaks. The timely plot centers around a nefarious plan to ram through a new drug which supposedly would help prevent PTSD, and is aided and abetted by highly placed individuals, including a SEAL Admiral and even the Secretary of Defense, with untold millions of profit waiting — but only if the drug works. And, without the serious and deadly side effects it showed on a test group of sEALS, given the drug without their knowledge. This is a book about the lengths some individuals, including politicians, will go to for greed, and the acts they will perform to cover up — and in the end, it is a book about revenge. I am signing up for Carr’s second book now, because if his second and subsequent novels are as good as his debut, we just may have a worthy successor to the great, late, Vince Flynn.
Great book ! 1st in the series . Believe me, you’ll want to read them all.
Carr’s first thriller was a huge seller and for good reason. Carr is one of the most talented thriller writers out there.
This series of books isn’t one of my usual genres, but the premise intrigued me because I am a patriot. I have loved every single book in the series—so good. Very timely for the current situation in our world. This former Navy Seal is the real deal.
I highly enjoyed this thrill ride. From beginning to the end, it had all the emotions laid out for the reader to agree with. The plot was very easy to follow and the characters were very developed. Just enough back story to keep the novel flowing well and interest kept. Jumped right into the next novel in the series, very easy to do. Picks right up where the previous novel left off. I hope the next novel is just as emotional as the previous novel.
