I stopped reading it 1/4 of the way through. Just not my kind of novel; couldn’t get into it
Disapointing!
Great read!
Slow and plodding
i enjoyed this historical mystery
In the too distant past. The writiing is difficult to relate to and not believable. Boring, too much minute detail.
It’s okay. Interesting story line, but not very realistic. You don’t drop into this story. It’s more that you find yourself saying, Well that’s really stupid. The characters leave something to be desired. But easy reading.
Compelling story. Learnt much about the history of the Templar’s cross and about the time period this adventure is set in. The protagonist is not someone to be envied but is none the less a fascinating character. If you are looking for a mystery with a difference. This is definitely a good read.
Ireland & Scotland in the Middle Ages: what a great setting for a murder mystery!
Solidly written, realistic and accurate for its time frame historical crime solver circa 1400s in Scotland.
Not too interesting. Did not really have an ending.
A good read which is worth the time. Excellent historical setting…
As historical fiction it was okay,
I enjoyed this book. Tomlin creates a vivid world and finds a very creative way to weave Templar lore into an unexpected mystery. Story and characters are believable and could be in any time/place. I’m already looking forward to the next Sir Law adventure.
This was an ok book, nothing much more to report. I did not feel fully engaged with characters or plot.
Good read, but nothing great. Gives a good historical view of the times. Ends a bit up in the air. Maybe hinting at a sequel.
This volume was tedious at times and was predictable. The lead character is not well developed which made the story awkward.
A good read for history addicts
Nice mystery set in medieval times. Multiple plots with wide variety of interesting characters of the period.
The ploy was slow and left a lot to be desired.
