Laura Marie’s The Teen Witch: Rebirth was previously published as My Secret Magic and is the first in The Teen Witch Chronicles.
Emily is an average sixteen year old girl, when one day in Science her hands suddenly combust and she inadvertently sets fire to the room. Suddenly she is a freak-even for a teenager.
Her mom packs them up and moves them across the country to Safety Beach. And then things really get weird.
This is the first story of Laura Marie’s I’ve read, but it won’t be the last. I can’t wait to read the next installment of the Teen Witch Chronicles for one thing.
The world Ms. Marie has built is well-fleshed out, and the characters likable as well as relatable.
A great book about a teenager who doesn’t know what she is and tries to figure it out. And then she see’s something that sets her and he friends off on an adventure that sets the whole story in mystery. The wonderful characters along the way that sets the story off on the right foot. This is a story you’ll not only be glad you read but can’t wait for the next book!!
Great start to a new series. Emily is a really relatable character. I enjoyed reading how she finds out about her heritage and becomes comfortable being herself. I also love how her friendship with Chloe evolved
Emily and her mom have just moved to Safety Beach hoping for a fresh new start and find a few new friends. At her last school Emily caught the science lab on fire and she did it with her bare hands. After the fire Emily’s life was never the same. She lost all her friends as everyone thought she was some kind of freak now.
Emily has no idea what she did or how she did it. All she knows is that she doesn’t want it to happen again. She could never forgive herself if she hurt or killed someone. She is hoping that she will fit right with everyone in Safety Beach as just about everyone there are weird or different themselves.
When she witnesses a kidnapping and no one believes her not even the police Emily decides to take matters into her own hands and starts an investigation of her own with the help of her new friends Chloe and Reece.
Doing her snooping around Emily finds out that this little town of Safety Beach has a lot of secrets or at least the people living there do. Emily starts to not only learn what she is but that she is not the only one nor is she the only paranormal creature.
I like reading about witches and when I found this little gem sitting on my bookshelves after joining Laura Marie’s ARC Team by agreeing to review The Teen Witch: Inferno I had read it as is the prequel novel in The Teen Witch Chronicles and I am so glad I decided to read The Teen Witch: Rebirth first.
The Teen Witch: Rebirth is a great introduction into the world of The Teen Witch Chronicles. It has lots of secrets which it likes to hold onto keeping coming you back for more. I can’t wait to dive into The Teen Witch: Inferno and see what secrets it holds amongst its pages.
If you like shows like Charmed or Sabrina the Teenage Witch then you will love The Teen Witch: Rebirth.
Allow a full day for this family-friendly first book of the series. I read an ARC and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
I throughly enjoyed this book and was caught up with the story of how a girl was forced to leave home and the world she knew because she was different.
The characters are very real to me because I had those experiences myself in high school though not for the same reason as Emily had of course.
It’s a good book for young and old to read because I think both can easily relate to it either by their situation now or what they experienced in the past. It is hard to try and fit in.
Kudos to Laura Marie and a great book to start a new series. I have read and enjoyed this book and the first book in the series entitled The Teen Witch: Inferno and am eagerly looking forward to the next book in the series to see what new adventures Emily, Chloe and Reece have.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book for I believe you’ll enjoy it and the series as much as I do.
