3.5 Stars!
Being a fan of this series I couldn’t wait to pick this one up! I’ve been really looking forward to Rex’s story. I finished reading it in one sitting and I really liked it!
Rex and Hannah’s journey was quite the entertaining one! I enjoyed the unique way they were brought into each other’s lives and their conversations! These two made me laugh and smile throughout this quick read.
With The Teaching Hours, Ms.Ney has created a great read! It was so awesome to jump back into this series and I need to do a re-read of all the books soon.
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Wildfire Marketing Solutions / the author*
This was a quick entertaining read that certainly hit the spot, I laughed, I smiled and I fell in love with Hannah and Rex. It you are looking for a sweet, quirky, fun read look no further than The Teaching Hours ( How to Date a Douchebag #5.5) its certainly got all the feels. The banter flowed naturally, the characters are adorable and Im looking forward to the next in this series. This novella is a great addition to a great series.
A short but rather sweet and funny novella where Hannah and Rex get to know each other. I laughed, I loved the characters and could have read so much more. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was refreshing, Hannah with her rambling and Rex with his charm!
Cute, Charming and Entertaining. Looking forward to more from this series!
The Teaching Hours..short but sassy!!
Hannah is awkward and outspoken. Rex is kind of nerdy. When they meet on the school dating app they have no intentions of getting together. However once they meet all bets are off. They realize that they have a genuine connection. Pick up this book and dive in. My only complaint is that it wasn’t long enough.
The Teaching hours was quick, fun and sexy.
Rex has been on my mind since I started the douchebag series, I was a little surprised he only got a novella. However, it’s nice to see he changed for the better and got it together.
I loved his banter with Hanna. She was so funny and different from other female leads, she was pretty much the type to “bully the ones she likes”. It was different and as Rex said , Charming.
They had a lot of chemistry just through texting but it really showed on their first meeting. I really enjoyed the tension between them, I only wished we could have gotten a little more for these two!
4/ 5 stars
The Teaching Hours by Sara Ney is a fantastic, laugh out loud read. It’s everything I love about author Sara Ney and the Douchbag series. Although Rex was never a fave for me, I love how his character grows. I really liked him.
Rex and Hannah are the perfectly mismatched couple in this story. I love their banter. I love Hannah’s inner thoughts. They made me laugh. Their chemistry was obvious. They clicked. My only complaint is I wanted more!
The Teaching Hours is a light, stress free story filled with humor and spice. A great read! Perfect addition to the How to Date a Douchebag series.
If your looking for a quick entertaining read then this bitesize novella is the perfect one for you. You will devour it in one go and love every word.
I would recommend reading the other books in the serious as you will see characters from past books in this one but also because its a great entertaining read
I love Rex and Hannah. They were the complete opposites. Rex is outgoing and confident and Hannah has some social anxiety, she has no filter and is completely awkward. When rex comes across her on a dating app he decides to coach her and help her improve her dating skills.
A brilliant addition to this series.
Whew!!! The Teaching Hours was best kinda read! Short and funny, sweet, and Sexy! Ney has a talent for making you fall hard for her characters in such a short amount of time! I loved The Teaching Hours! It put a huge smile on my face! A refreshing read that gives you all the feels! Hannah is the BEST kind of character! She is so quirky and awkward, and so easy to relate to! I loved how different and funny she was! I could easily see befriending her, she’s the kind of person you need in your life. There’s never a dull moment with her! Rex is a whole nother case! He is so sweet with his niece, he instantly gives you heart palpitations. He has made mistakes in his past and trying to make up for that. I loved their conversations and how Rex calls Hannah out on her stuff! If you’re looking for a fun read to take your mind off thing or just need a happy feel-good read, This is definitely your book! I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.
The Teaching Hours is a quick, fun and lighthearted read that I absolutely loved! Now I normally won’t read a novella. Just as I really start getting into the story… bam, it’s over. But hello… Sara Ney wrote it. I will never pass up anything that she writes. I love her fun, smart and quirky writing.
Rex is back, and he’s met his match in Hannah. She is awkward, outspoken and needs to be schooled on landing a man. And who better to teach her than the reformed douchebag himself. What follows is a meet-cute filled with a natural, undeniable chemistry, playful banter and lots of heat.
All in all, I really enjoyed Rex and Hannah’s story. I would have preferred it to be a little bit longer, but hey… I’ll take what I can get. If you enjoyed Sara’s How To Date a Douchebag series, then you’ll definitely want to check this one out. Five stars for Rex, Hannah and The Teaching Hours!
I love Sara Ney and I especially love this series. And what’s even better than a random novella by Sara Ney? One that contains 2 secondary characters from some of the other books.
Rex was king of the douches. And I really love that him becoming the “funcle” to Annabelle’s beautiful baby girl made him into a semi decent human being. And seeing him be so sweet and slightly vulnerable for Hannah was awesome.
I love Hannah she’s so fierce yet as the main character she was just your average insecure new adult trying to negotiate the dating world. These two were the perfect compliment to each other and I can’t wait for the next Douchebag to be tamed.
A great addition to one of my favorite series! This is for all the Douchebag lovers who have always wondered what became of Rex Gunderson after he redeemed himself. Hannah is witty, snarky, refreshingly uncensored and holds nothing back. When she recruits Rex to be her dating coach, you know you’re in for some much needed laughter and sexy times.
**This is a delightfully entertaining quick read, but be careful when eating or drinking, as you may choke or snort fluid from laughing too hard.
Fun, quick read.
Hanna and Rex’s story is a funny opposites attract romance with lots of snarky humor.
Their banter was a blend of sexy and bitey with a unique style of communicating.
While the characters were well developed, I was left wanting more.
Great afternoon read.
3.5 stars!
There’s no doubt in my mind that the name Rex Gunderson echoed in the hallways of the university, in the sports locker room, and maybe even amongst college wrestlers, but the thing about that recognition is that it wasn’t positive, which means that when Rex left, other wrestlers, college students and even fans didn’t have the best impression of him and actually were glad he left.
But I knew that wasn’t the last time readers would see Rex, and I couldn’t wait to see how well he was received and what kind of guy he was upon his return to the university. And fortunately, he proved himself and did so in a way that made him not only dateable but moved him beyond the douchebag moniker.
What I found most interesting about the dynamics between Hannah Peterson and Rex Gunderson is that the most undateable becomes the dating guru, and not only that, but offered instruction in the field of dating in a way that allowed readers to see just how much Rex had changed and just how worthy he was of acing his ‘final exam.’
The texting back and forth between Rex and Hannah throughout the story was perfect because that’s how they started communicating with each other…that’s how they found their footing with one another and allowed their face-to-face meet up to be less awkward and more simmering with quite a bit of sexual tension.
Sara Ney gave Rex his perfect match, and I enjoyed every minute of not only Rex redeeming himself but also teaching Hannah and himself the kind of man, the kind of boyfriend, he could be.
4 Poison Apples
This novella packed quite a punch for being so short. Rex decides to give Hannah some tips after meeting her on a app and to say these two weren’t hilarious together would be a understatement. Super cute read
GAH!! I am so in love with the Douchebag series!!
If you follow my blog, you know that I am 100% obsessed with everything and everything Sara Ney writes. One of my all times favourites though, is her Douchebag series! The Teaching Hours is another wonderful instalment to this fabulous series.
We have finally gotten a Rex Gunderson book!! I have certainly been waiting for his book for a while. Trust me, you will not like this guy. Yet, as you read through this novella, that will completely change. You will end up loving him.
I became a huge fan of Hannah. She is definitely a very likeable, and sweet girl.
Overall, I loved this novella. It was cute and fun, while still giving us that classic Sara Ney charm.
If you haven’t started this series yet, you are missing out.
5/5 Stars!
Hannah has no filter and can be taken as if she’s a bitch, so when she meets a cute nerdy (so she deems him) guy on the latest dating app, she’s her usual feisty self with him and he takes it in stride, even offers to help her talk to guys in a way that might just get her a date, to be her dating instructor of sorts. And it sets off the cutest, snarkest little relationship I think I’ve read in a long time.
I always liked Rex in this series, but I love him here in his own story. And Hannah is the perfect partner for him with her crazy no-filter personality that Rex obviously digs. The only thing I could have wanted for this relationship is more time with them because they’re the cutest!
