The book opens with Marie Nevil having a dream for the man she thought she loved and thought loved her was engaged to another woman Lady Catlin Williams and Lord Estes Melton were getting married and Marie was devastated. Marie had been missing things in the house and had decided to speak with her father about servants instead her father told her that they were financially in trouble but he had found a gentleman would marry her and get them out of trouble. The gentleman who she was to marry was Philip Winchester, Viscount Berkeley. She couldn’t find much out about him because he apparently did not come to town for the season. He came from the county of Cottenham in fact he and Marie did not meet her see each other until they were at the church for the wedding. Marie had planned to be a perfect wife to have her home perfect she went through her hope chest and got everything ready and then they had their wedding. Marie got a big surprise after the wedding and she was not real happy with it Philip ignored her and she was not happy without either. To find out about the surprises you have to read the book. It’s a goo she d book…
This is a unique and intriguing story. Marie was in love with her neighbor and was devastated when during her debut she found that he was with someone else. Heartbroken and humiliated, she refused to attend any more events, and turned away all suitors, until they stopped coming. Her father takes things into his own hands and betroths her to Viscount Berkeley. She was excited about marrying, thinking it was her only chance to marry and have a family. They don’t meet until they get to the alter. He’s shocked to see that she’s young and beautiful, she’s shocked that he’s much older than she thought. When they arrive at his home, she’s flabbergasted, it’s so small and so unimpressive. And there aren’t any servants. Each believes the marriage is doomed, but they do have their moments of interest. It’s an enjoyable, intriguing, romantic and suspenseful story that I loved.

I found this book to be a very enjoyable read with the good storyline and characters that were so well rounded that I was totally enthralled until the turn of the very last page!
Wonderful Story.
This is a wonderful story with an intriguing storyline. Marie went from loving her neighbor to heartbreak when he married someone else. When her father arranges her marriage she is happy and hopeful again only to be surprised by her new situation after she marries. This story has many twists and turns that will keep you turning the pages until the end.
I think the title is a little misleading, but I enjoyed the book. Marie seems to be wonderfully resilient and does her best to deal with all her new husband asks of her. Phillip is a little bit dense. How could a man of the time assume his bride (a member of the gentry) would know how to cook and clean? And then he denies her any instruction? I’m giving this three stars because I liked the heroine.

ONE WONDERFUL TREAT!!!
Oh my, Heavens! Man, talk about waking up in a nightmare. An eddy of unexpected circumstances and events thrust all of those swirling emotions into play front and center. This dynamic duo tosses everything up, step back and watch it fall. Drama, intrigue, angst and suspense thrusts this bad boy together one beautifully piece at a time. Twists and turns abound along with a few glitches, bumps and bruises blasts this turbulent storyline and gripping plot that spins and coils tightly propeling this baby to life brilliantly. The characters are authentic, imaginable with depth and personalities that’s easily relatable. The scenes are strikingly sharp and descriptive you have no problem picturing each scenario as they play out and blend smoothly. Remarkable job, Karen & Emilee, thanks for sharing this little wonder with us.
This was a sweet romance of a couple who married and hadn’t even meet before. They had to learn about each other and try and find common ground. At first I didn’t care for Marie and Phillip, they seemed so self centered. But as the book progressed they learned how to interact with each other and compromise.

The description caught my attention. I expected love. And… nothing. It looks like a ball of yarn, from which the threads were pulled from here. This is similar to a working model that will still be developed.
If you have such a good idea, why not spend the time and effort to do it?
Three stars for the idea.
