I love Stephen King and his books. This is one of my favorites and I would definitely recommend all horror seekers to read this. The fantasy world and the real world colliding. It’s fate thrown on a 9 year old boy. You will definitely enjoy this from the first page until the last. I was upset when it ended because it was so good
Second reading even better than the first
I first read THE TALISMAN, collaboratively written by Stephen King and Peter Straub, when it was first published in 1984 and hadn’t re-read the story until just now. One of the benefits of getting older is a less precise memory. I didn’t remember much of my first reading at all. So I got to enjoy this …
I loved the book it’s very unpredictable
Couldn’t put it down
Awesome book
When twelve-year-old Jack Sawyer, and his mother, Lily, move to a hotel called the Alhambra on the coast of New Hampshire, Jack somehow knows his mother is dying. He feels lost and alone until one day, Jack meets a strange old man on the beach, and they become friends. Speedy Parker seems like a cool guy, but the more time they spend together, …
It’s Stephen King and Peter Straub. What more do you need to know?
THis is one of the few books that IMHO both authors were able to really sync in writing a story. I could not tell what parts were written by whom, It really follows well and very well thought out. I read the entire book on a flight from Spain to Delaware. It made the trip go by so quick… loved it.
King and Straub are magic together!
This is one of my favorite books. It really tied a lot of the stories together for me and made sense of so much of Stephen King’s universe with Peter Straub’s influence as well.
A wonderful book!
A wonderful read!
A classic. Loved it. I go back and read it again every once in awhile
Not on my favorite SK novels, but still a good read
I read this book many years ago and I still believe it to be one of my favorites because of the unusual story line.
This is my absolute favorite book of all time! I just love Jack and the idea of ‘flipping’ between two worlds. This is the book I go back to and re-read again and again.
I have yet to meet a Stephen King book that i did not like, and this is no exception. Read it…
One of my all time favorite books!!!! Great characters! Takes you on a wonderful ride. See also Black House!
Great classic Stephen King book. He never disappoints
I first read this book as a person young enough to relate to Jack as a younger peer. I read it again as the mother of a 12 year old son, which put the story in a new perspective. I continue to return to this amazing quest repeatedly–so often that I have replaced my copies several times over the years. It never gets old. It’s a wonderful, scary, …
