A Wall Street Journal bestseller.
In bestselling author T L Swan’s second hot installment to the Miles High Club series, he’s sexy, rich, and her mortal enemy. Hate never felt so good.
I first met Tristan Miles at a meeting where he was trying to take over my late husband’s company.
He was powerful, arrogant, and infuriatingly gorgeous, and I hated him with every cell in my body. In the shock … him with every cell in my body. In the shock of the century, he called me three days later and asked me on a date.
I would rather die than date a man like him—though I do have to admit it was good for the ego. Turning him down was the highlight of my year.
Six months later, he was the guest speaker at a conference I attended in France.
Still arrogant and infuriating—but this time, surprisingly charming and witty.
When he looked at me, I got butterflies.
But I can’t go there.
He’s just a player in a hot suit, and I’m just a widow with three unruly sons.
I just need this conference to be over.
Because everybody knows that Tristan Miles always gets what he wants…and what he wants is me.

I am glad that I gave this series another chance.
Despite loving this author, I was a bit worried about this book, since I was in the minority and struggled with the first book. I need not have worried because this book is what I love about romance.
It started a little slow for me in regards to connecting with the characters but once I did, I was all in. I laughed out loud at the antics of the kids and Tristan. In fact, those kids and their budding relationship with Tristan saved this book, especially a certain scene with Harry that left me with teary eyes. I struggled with the back and forth with Claire, and occasionally with Tristan, but more so with Claire. She gave mixed signals expecting everything to be over but then expecting Tristan to read her mind and know what she was expecting. Towards the end, I understood her fears but it took a while to get there. Tristan had a few moments where I wanted to strangle him but good lord if this guy wasn’t swoon-worthy.
Were there parts of the story that weren’t plausible? Absolutely. However, this is romantic fiction. I wanted to get lost in a beautiful story and I did. I rooted for these characters, I was viscerally moved, and I found humor. There was something special in this connection, and I was left with a feeling that maybe the Universe and someone else had a hand in bringing these characters together. I even enjoyed seeing Jamison and Emily in this one. I cannot wait to see what is next. I am so glad that I didn’t let my frustration from the first book stop me from continuing this series.
What an amazing novel from author T.L. Swan. The Takeover grabs you right from the beginning and the impassioned roller-coaster ride never lets up. Main characters Claire Anderson and Tristan Miles evolve into two brand new people by the end of the story. This is the second book from Ms. Swan’s The Miles High Club series and it can be enjoyed as a standalone.
Claire is the CEO of Anderson Media, which was founded by her beloved late husband. Since his passing, Claire has worked night and day to keep the business afloat, but as each year goes by, it just gets harder and harder. She feels obligated to continue her late husband’s dream of passing down his legacy to their children. In addition, she is raising her three boys alone, which comes with its own struggles.
Tristan is a wealthy man and is head of acquisitions for his family’s multi-million dollar media company. His reputation for being ruthless in the boardroom is legendary. Claire and Tristan first meet when Tristan offers to purchase Claire’s company before it goes into bankruptcy. At the time, Claire thought Tristan to be a snake. As they get to know each other, she learns that Tristan is a loving man and only wants the best for both her and her boys.
This is a well-written book about courage and desire, that twists and turns in all the right places. Claire and Tristan’s love was tangible and their sexy times were quite hot. Tristan’s ability to take care of those that he loves was amazingly meaningful and insightful. The secondary characters, family members and friends, added a lot of genuineness to the plot. This book was quite humorous at times with many laugh out loud moments. The emotional scenes were heartrending. Overall, a solid romantic read that should not be missed.

It took me some time to get into this book, but once I did I really loved it.
I love books that make me feel and this one was one of them. I laughed, I cried and I couldn’t stop reading it.
I loved Tristan so much. He was funny, smart, sometimes arrogant but at the same time so charming. He and Claire were perfect for each other. There was an immediate attraction between them and the chemistry between them was off the charts. I loved how Tristan never gave up on Claire, how they couldn’t stay away from each other, how the reasons why they shouldn’t be together were realistic, and how they kept fighting for their love and relationship. They were really amazing, but although I loved them I didn’t love them nearly as much as Claire’s kids. Her boys were everything! I loved every single one of them so freaking much. One thing I loved the most was how protective they were of their mother, reading about it warmed my heart and even made me cry. Reading about their relationship with Tristan, especially those scenes when they first met were hilarious, and as they got to know and care for each other so heartwarming, special, and beautiful. I could read ten more books about them and never get tired of them.
This book was funny, interesting, emotional and so beautifully written. I really loved it and I hope we get another book in this series.

I tried to enjoy and take my time with this, but it’s completely impossible! This was so freaking enjoyable in every way possible. I was hooked and couldn’t put this down. It was that “I need to see what happens now” feeling all through the book.
I’m just completely over the top excited with this book! I LOVE everything about this story! EVERYTHING! No mater what I read from Swan I always am left with such a great feeling. This is why I’m beyond obsessed with her ALL books!
This story felt so relatable. It’s just one of those stories you can’t help but feel like this can so happen to you. I love how different certain parts where. Claire is not you’re typical main character, and I truly loved that!
This story made me cry, laughed like a crazy person and totally touched me beyond words can describe.
Tristan Miles is the playboy of the Miles’ brothers. He tends to like tall, blonde, model-like bimbos for a night or two….never anything serious. When Tris talks with Claire Anderson about taking over her company, Anderson Media, he is shot down. Three days later, Tris calls Claire and asks her out on a date. Claire cannot believe the huge pair that Tristan must have to have to have the gall to ask her out! Now, six months later Claire runs into Tristan in Paris where he is the guest note speaker at a conference she is attending. One thing leads to another and these two decide to have a week long affair and that at the end of the week, it’s over. Too bad when they get back to New York, Tristan just can’t seem to forget Claire. He knows she’s a mom to three boys, but how bad can it be?
When Tris decides to pursue something more with Claire, he finds out just what having three boys means. While Tristan tries to navigate Claire’s family life, he is also trying to teach Claire’s oldest how to run a media company. It will take a lot of patience, determination and love for Tristan and Claire to find their happy ending, but it will be worth it!
I just adored this book. It was fun seeing Tristan, a very rich man shown a life that is not so privileged. I also loved all of the things that happened between Tristan and the boys. Lots of LOL moments! It was interesting seeing how a window goes through life still holding on to the memories of her husband while trying to move onward. Overall I really loved this book.
THE TAKEOVER by TL Swan is tied as my FAVORITE book of hers! I knew Tristan was special when we were introduced to him in The Stopover. He was everything I hoped for and more. I fell completely in love with him. Claire, though she tried to worry herself out of it, never stood a chance against him. I connected with Claire so deeply. I felt her pain and grief in my bones. I understood her struggle to be everything to everyone and do everything. As with all of Tee’s books we go on such a journey with these characters. Their story breaks your heart in places, it’s emotional and you will cry. In balance, there were many times when I was laughing so hard I couldn’t catch my breath. It’s also very sexy and let’s be honest, no one writes sexy like TL Swan! I highly recommend this book.
This is the second book in the series and I highly recommend reading the stopover. Tl swan has done it again another beautifully written full of emotional, heart breaking love story between two people that live two different lives.
Tristan works with his brothers in their very successful family business. Where as Claire is trying to keep the legecy of her late husbands business afloat while trying to be mother of three young boys and navigating a life she never expected to be living.
TL Swan is one of those authors that writes books that are relatable to everyone and you feel every emotion when reading this book. I loved how the relationship between the boys and Tristan developes and the funny and quirky scenes with Tristan and muff the cat. The creativity behind each funny moment had me continuously laughing.
The author had such a great mixture of humour, love, sadness and some amazing scenes which made me fan myself. You are always on an emotional rollercoaster not knowing what you’re going to be feeling next. I don’t think I have read a book that made me want a happily ever after as much as this book. It’s beautiful how they find love where they least expect it and what starts off as a one night stand, grows into more.
I cannot wait to read more of the miles brothers and I can honestly say this is my favourite of all TL Swan books and one of my favourite books of the year.
The Takeover – (The Miles High Club #2) – by T. L. Swan
The Takeover is a story of acquisitions and love and how four people become a family of five.
This is more than a love story between two adults but the love between two adults and three boys, the love of a man who wants to build a new family with a woman who is trying to move of from the loss of a husband and father and the love of three boys who need a good man to help them become men.
Tristan Miles business man, player and in charge of acquisitions for Miles Media wants to make an offer for Anderson Media, Claire Anderson wants nothing to do with him or his offer. Until they meet up months later at a conference in France. It’s then that Tristan realizes the acquisition he really wants is Claire. However, with Claire come three boys, Fletcher, Harry and Patrick, who are very protective of their mother and have no problem giving Tristan a hard time when it comes to winning them over.
T. L. Swan manages to weave humor, grief, and passion and heartwarming character growth into a wonderful story of how a new family evolves out of the tension, trust, sometimes mistrust and anger and tears.
Swan’s Takeover will take hold of your heart and your feelings and then give you the ending that makes you sigh and leave a contented smile on your face.
I received a free copy of this book from Netgalley and my review reflects my feelings upon finishing this book.
This is 10 star story sucked me in so deep in the heart of it that I basically read it in one sitting. I was hooked from the first page to the last one read.
Tristan is an arrogant prick that always gets what he wants and he wants Claire. She’s not easy to get. She’s a widow trying to keep her husband’s company a float. She has a lot going on and doesn’t have time for Tristan’s games.
Let me start by saying that is the ONLY story in the history of stories I have read that made me laugh so hard that I cried and wheezed. I would have needed my Albuterol. It had the funniest storyline and scenes. Besides being funny it had it’s heartfelt moments too. I loved ALL these amazing characters. Tristan is an all new level of arrogant prick. He cared deeply and was very protective.
The storyline was to die for. I really thought I would die of laughter. It’s addicting and highly entertaining. It’s a solid page turner. So sit back and enjoy the ride of a lifetime.
Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I STRONGLY recommend this story.
UPDATE‼‼‼‼‼‼‼
This has now been upgraded to a 5 star review because it was just revealed that there IS AN EPILOGUE!! Tee has had to fight with some folks to get it in there!!! HALLELUJAH y’all know how I am about my epilogue!!!!
The only reason this is getting 4.5 stars and not 5 is because I REAAAAALLLLY wanted an epilogue I am an epilogue junkie and I wanted so bad to see the future of these characters. However, i have a feeling she didn’t write it because of Christopher and Elliot’s books are coming…I could be wrong.
Anyhoo…This was absolutely hysterical and brilliant and the feelings Claire had were so real!!!
Claire Anderson, strong yet vulnerable, beautiful and has no clue about it, sweet and sexy, she was what every woman her age that had been through what she had been through thinks of themselves at this stage in life. Tee wrote this beautifully and I think women that read this will relate to this character.
Tristan…NOT what I thought he was gonna be! He was BETTER!!!! He was not your typical alphahole. He was in the boardroom and bedroom but deep down he was just a teddy bear! I loved him!! Of all her heroes he is the one that made me laugh because of his dorkiness (I don’t think that’s a word but it is now). Some of the things he said, I can do imagine a man in my life saying (if I had one)! He was fun and playful and sooooo full of LOVE! He was also hot between the sheets and a dirty talker which made me love him even more! He knew what he wanted and he totally took it, thus the Takeover!
The kids in this book will have you howlingI laughed so hard at the antics that I was crying!!! They added to this story so much and made it even better for me.
I can’t tell you how much I loved this
It was sweet, sexy and very real. The feelings she had leaped off the page and my heart broke for him in one part. I totally understood where Claire was coming from but at one point I wanted to smack her!!!
I love this author and she really took this book in a much different direction than I thought it was gonna go and it WORKED SO WELL!!!!
I will forever be a fan of TL Swan and if you haven’t read anything from her you so should!!!
Angst
Cheating None
Sexy Time off the hook!
Epilogue (will be updates when I read it)

TL Swan – The Takeover (The Miles High Club 2)
.
I was curious about Tristan and his infectious personality from reading The Stopover. This book was unputdownable. I was blown away from the very beginning. The plot flowed effortlessly, the characters were diverse and lovable. I was wrapped up, invested and one hundred percent consumed. Such a beautiful feel good story. Best single parent romance I’ve ever read. You just cant go wrong with TL Swan. 5 stars and on my 2020 favourite books list!
Claire has had a rough couple of years, being a single mum to 3 boys and running her late husbands company. Shes struggling with life and barely floating through each day.
Chapter nine in particular was my favourite. I loved reading about her crazy family life.
Patrick melts my heart. And let’s not start with how special Harry is… Tick tock.
Tristan is a beautiful man with a heart of gold. Hes such a likable character. Hes a player but theres more then what’s on the surface. Hes alpha, and makes a great dad when he commits to the heroine and befriending her kids. After many complications and trials, they worked hard, committed and became a beautiful family. His integration was done effortlessly. I loved his interaction with the boys, and how he helped them with their own issues. He made a wonderful caring dad.
“Tristan Miles is here, the takeover king. The take-no-shit, get-what-he-wants man whom I used to hate is here batting . . . for us. Somehow, he has taken my naughty little boy under his wing.”
This story had everything. Fun banter, great characters. Passion and chemistry. Friendship and partnership. The way their relationship progressed was realistic and well written.
They began as enemies which turnt into friends with benefits. Their age gap wasnt a big deal, but had to deal with being at different stages in life. I knew going into this book I would love it, having loved the first instalment in the Miles High Club series. But I could never have imagined how special this story would be. I loved every moment of it and didnt want it to come to an end. Such a wholesome book.
TL Swan is a master storyteller and The Takeover is utter perfection. Top 10 book of 2020. What a masterpiece! I’m a die hard fan and will read anything she writes. Although there were no mentions of the continuation of the Miles high club series I have a strong feeling Elliot will get his book next. New character were introduced. Spencer Jones and Sebastian Garcia, and the mysterious ballerina type blond we met at the auction.
Find out why I gave the first book in the series 5 stars. The Stopover

I was on a bad streak of reads when I opened The Takeover and, by the start of chapter three, it wasn’t looking better for this book either but I persisted and I was really glad I did. The Takeover turned into a hilarious and thoroughly enjoyable read.
Claire is a widow who is barely hanging on to her late husband’s company. Things are falling apart in all aspects of her life so when arrogant Tristan waltzes into her life with an offer to buy out her business and a smirk, Claire is completely not interested. Not in the offer or the man. This rejection is something that Tristan is not used to and when another opportunity with Claire comes along, he takes a different tack.
The Takeover is a enemies to lovers, second chance at love, and rom-com all rolled into one fantastic book. The characters are lovable and relatable, the storyline so true to life that you can easily fall into it. Claire can be someone you know in your life. The friend desperate to hold it together, resistant to change even when it’s forced on her who has to learn to live again. Tristan is the man for who the facade of arrogant rich boy worked for him for a while but maturity catches up with him, making, him look at life from a different perspective.
Various subplots with the late husband’s business, Claire’s three kids, Tristan’s brothers and mother are interwoven seamlessly with the heart of the story ~ the romance between the two leads and brings in side characters that add depth and vitality to an already rich story. The Takeover teems with scenes from steamy to hilarious to heartwarming to infuriating and will not allow you to put it down till the last page.
This is the first book of this author for me, but definitely is not going to be the last one. I have already purchased two more!
There are no words for all the emotions this book aroused in me. The dialogs between Claire and Tristan mostly made me rear with laughter, but sometimes it also made me want to cry. They are beautiful together, so perfect for each other!
Claire is a widow with three boys (17, 13 and 9 years old). She lost her husband five years ago and she is struggling to keep his company floating. Tristan wants to buy the company. She refuses. WITH STYLE!
When I saw the name of the book I thought it was going to be about the takeover of the company, Anderson Media, but I was quite wrong. It was sooo much more.
I highly recommend this book. There are great sex scenes, the interaction between Tristan and Claire´s kids are super fun and emotional. It´s like a roller coaster of feelings. All of them makes you feel deeply engaged to this family.
If you like smoking hot romance with deep development, this is your cup of tea.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own
Since I loved The Stopover I knew I had to read the second book in the series. The Takeover is different in a very good way from its predecessor. So it’s hard to know which one I love more!
I’m a huge fan of enemies-to-lovers romance that add heat and steam to its witty characters. And this one does it off the charts! Tristan is an arrogant and unapologetic man who doesn’t stop when he wants something or someone. But don’t let that domineering ego fool you. There’s another side to him.
Claire is a grief stricken woman who has been struggling to move on. But she isn’t a shrinking violet either. Her personally I think matched our hero’s perfectly.
The banter between them alone is well worth picking up the book to read. I love fire and sparks between characters who butt heads. So it’s safe to say that the chemistry is off-the-charts.
I loved the fact that there wasn’t any obvious twists. Plus there’s another reason that the couples don’t loose themselves in each other. Their essence and being stood against their relationship. This can be read as a stand-alone but I highly recommend reading The Stopover!
Thank you to Montlake Romance and Netgalley for allowing me to read!
This is my first time reading this author’s work. Her writing is amazing and completely buried me in her story. Right from the beginning, I knew this was a book to be savoured and enjoyed. I was completely shattered after reading it-there where parts where I was snort-laughing,and twice I was tearing up. Tristan and Claire have this fantastic chemistry together which just grows as time goes on. Tristan adores Claire, and shows it in so many ways. I loved their banter, the way their relationship evolved, and the her sons-such great character development. I loved every bit of this book! One of my favourite reads this year.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher, who provided me with a copy of this book. My honest opinion is voluntarily provided.
The Takeover is an exceptional love story of the ties that bind us – family, acceptance, real life emotions, angst and second chances. The passion and power of Tristian and Clarie’s devotion, connection and their undeniable love for one another was off the charts. Add to that Tristan’s evolution from the typical alpha male to an impassioned and dedicated father to the “three other hearts”… was simply perfect.
The writing, plot and dialogue is superb. You will laugh out loud, you will cry, you will experience pulse-pounding highs and torturous lows…and at the end, you will have a smile on your face. T.L. Swan, a new author for me, knows how to capture the readers attention and keep it there to the very end…. and writes some of the best sex scenes I’ve read in a long time. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
I received an advanced copy of this book and am enthusiastically leaving an honest review.
#TheTakeover #NetGalley #TOBELOVEDBYYOU
Wow this book had my emotions on high from excited and HOT!! To sad and raw back to laughing.
Tristain had a pantie dropping smile and cheeky attitude that had you wanting more.
Tristian is a hot headed Alpha that always gets what he wants no matter what he’s gotta do to get it.
Claire is a widowed with 3 boys and she runs a media company that her late husband started.
The chemistry that Tristain and Claire had was off the chain smoking HOT!!! From the moment they met.
Tristain and Claire’s banter/ moods they had with each other from the start had you wanting to read more.
Tristain’s interaction with the 3 boys Fletcher Harrison and Patrick was what made the story for me spec the banter with the middle child Harry aka Wizard #ticktok
Tristan is powerful, wealthy, tall, dark, handsome and utterly irresistible. He takes care of Claire and yet can get things smoking hot in the bedroom. I loved Tristan so much I said I want to be sandwiched in a room with Cameron Santon Nathan Mercer and Tristain Miles wow
Once again with A TL Swan novel, you are not let down.
All the emotions one feels, you get and more with this one.
Tristan Miles, the Man always called into fix things, Companies he helps his Media Siblings take over, People he tries to help, Women he dates he tries to fix.
Then he meets Claire and unbeknowing to him Tristan onces again tries to fix, what he thinks Claire Anderson of Anderson Media needs fixing. Anderson Media.
Little does he know its Claire Anderson (Widow)and her 3 boys who will change his life.
OMG the banter between Claire and Tristan is hilarious, and then Tristan meets her boys. The antics of Claire’s boys and Tristan had me in stitches, then out of nowhere came the tender moments between a single man and young boys who had lost the only male presence in their young lives “their Dad”.
I dont know what I was expecting with the 2nd part of “The MIles High Club” but it wasnt this man or the woman and her brood.
Tristan drew me in, all alpha which I love and a man in a suit im a goner, but it takes a very special individual to take on another person who already has their own children and to let that person not only come into their own life but that of their children’s lives , takes a rare individual. Plenty of people do it, but not everyone does it like they should, or how Tristan discovers it should be done.
Tristan was that man. The man had me rolling around giggling like a girl on his first meeting with Claire’s children and then again when he finds her on a date.
There is so much to this man and we see all sides of him as we go along the story.
Its not just about Falling in love with Claire, but its about falling in love with all of Claire and all that is Claire, and that is her life and her 3 boys.
It is enough for Tristan, but how does he convince the woman who out of nowhere, crashes into his life, and opens his eyes and makes him realise, it is him who is being saved.
This man we find loves with all he is, and sets out to show the only person who cant see it “Claire”
For me the highlight of this book, besides the hot sex and swooney love banter, But The Anderson Boys.
For me it was Winner Winner Chicken Dinner right there.
Thank god TL Swan gave up her day job and discovered the 26 letters of the alphabet and created the wonder of her books.
I loved everything about this book! I’ve been waiting to read it since last October when I finished The Stopover, the first book in The Miles High Club series. The Takeover was even better than I had hoped!
Claire and Tristan meet when he offers to buy her late husband’s company. Claire has worked hard to keep the company afloat and is offended by the offer. They go their separate ways, but both feel a strong attraction. Several months later, Claire and Tristan meet at a conference. They agree to a fling, but Tristan wants more and he gets what he wants.
Claire and Tristan’s journey isn’t an easy one. Her three boys are in various stages of grief over the death of their father. While Tristan initially makes light of the complications associated with dating a widow with children, he more than rises to the occasion. Once he makes up his mind to be with Claire, he puts in the hard work to win over each child on the child’s terms. It is a realistic portrayal of the frustrating and sometimes funny moments involved in bringing together a blended family. I adored Tristan’s interactions with Claire’s sons. The initial meeting between Tristan and the boys had me laughing so hard that I had tears in my eyes. I smiled every time Tristan stepped in to be the father figure that the boys desperately needed.
Throughout the book, Tristan shows Claire what he’s willing to do to keep them together. This sexy, dirty-talking alpha male goes above and beyond to make their relationship work. His efforts will touch your heart. I also appreciated that Tristan respected and admired Claire’s stubborn independence. For the most part, he knew how to take care of her without taking over. He also knows when fighting Claire is in the best interest of the longevity of their relationship.
Get ready for a book that you won’t be able to put down. The Takeover is an exceptional read — emotional, hilarious, heartwarming, steamy, and more!
Thank you to Amazon Publishing and NetGalley for this early copy of this book. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
I Loved this book! OMG! Tristan and Claire had me laughing sooo hard. Those kids were a TRIP! I just Loved it from beginning to end!! It was just perfection. It was Sooo HOT! I highly recommend this book. I am going right now to read book 1 of this series.
