A Wall Street Journal bestseller.
In bestselling author T L Swan’s second hot installment to the Miles High Club series, he’s sexy, rich, and her mortal enemy. Hate never felt so good.
I first met Tristan Miles at a meeting where he was trying to take over my late husband’s company.
He was powerful, arrogant, and infuriatingly gorgeous, and I hated him with every cell in my body. In the shock … him with every cell in my body. In the shock of the century, he called me three days later and asked me on a date.
I would rather die than date a man like him—though I do have to admit it was good for the ego. Turning him down was the highlight of my year.
Six months later, he was the guest speaker at a conference I attended in France.
Still arrogant and infuriating—but this time, surprisingly charming and witty.
When he looked at me, I got butterflies.
But I can’t go there.
He’s just a player in a hot suit, and I’m just a widow with three unruly sons.
I just need this conference to be over.
Because everybody knows that Tristan Miles always gets what he wants…and what he wants is me.

I have never read a book by T.L. Swan that I didn’t like or enjoy. I do have favorites among the books of hers I’ve read. After finishing, THE TAKEOVER, I have to say it is one of my top favorites. It starts out with Tristen Miles trying to take over the company of Clare Anderson’s late husband. Anderson Media is struggling, but Clare has vowed that she will hold on, and save the company for her three boys. Tristen Miles is the head of acquisitions and the archenemy of every struggling company in the world. They meet again, six months later. He was the quest speaker at a conference she attended in France. They go from enemies to lovers rather quickly.
They are complete opposites that are attracted to each other. He is single player, while she is a grieve-full widow with three fatherless boys. Fletcher is seventeen and Clare’s personal bodyguard. Harry is thirteen and struggling, and always in some kind of trouble. Then there is Patrick, just nine years old. He is sweet, gentle & sensitive. We must not forget the dog Wolfy and the pussy cat Muff. A lot of hilarious baggage for one man to take on. Tristen is known for getting what he wants and what he wants is Clare with all of her baggage. There is so much fun in reading this book, but just as much heart-ache that you will fear they will never find a happy ending. I enjoyed reading this book very much.
I took my time savoring every word of this story. I laughed, I got a little upset over some of the things Clare said but under the circumstances I did my best to see her point of view as interestingly written by TL Swan. I absolutely LOVED Tristan after getting to know him. His quick wit and way of handling things with Claire and her boys was both funny and heart warming.
The plot development was cleverly written and the characters evolved in a very well developed way. I thoroughly enjoyed this whole family dynamic tale!
Tristan Took Me Over
The Takeover truly rocked my world! 2020 has been a tumultuous year and I haven’t found much to laugh or smile about or swoon over or make me feel really warm inside, but Tristan Miles along with Claire Anderson, the widowed heroine and her pack of 3 wild boys did just that!
Tristan Miles is the Acquisition Head of Miles Media and what he wants, he gets. Suave, wealthy, sharp and gorgeous – he presents the perfect image while his reputation precedes him.
Claire Anderson is his latest target, or rather her late husband’s company, which she has since taken over is. Claire is a widow still coming to grips with a loss already 5 years back. From the minute she meets Tristan and he makes her an offer to take the company off her hands, she bristles. Yes, this is definitely an enemies to lovers story. But it gets complicated pretty early on. And from there, it’s two people learning about each other and what they really want. Throw in 3 pubescent boys that come as part of the package and a cat and a dog with a bachelor that’s used to jet setting and living in a pristine penthouse apartment and you have for one helluva story and a multitude of hysterical incidences!
I feel so strongly about this one because not only did it have the sexy and have the feels, it made me laugh my head off. I simply cannot stress how much it made me laugh or how much joy and warmth I experienced reading it. This is my book of 2020! Yes, I fell in love with Tristan. Yes, I felt for and came to love Claire. But what I wasn’t expecting was to also fall in love with three troubled kids who pull some of the funniest and disturbing pranks and have it filter all the way down to the family cat!
I scoffed down these pages and in the end I felt only love, laughter, warmth and the beauty of the human spirit and the feel good of sexy. When a book does that for me, then I can’t help but speak out on it. The Takeover is simply put, sublime! I really hope in this year, it puts the same smile on others faces as it did on mine.
I voluntarily reviewed this book and yes, I 100% profess that every single opinion is my own!

English Version:
It was last November when I discovered the author T.L. Swan, by reading her extraordinary novel “The Stopover”. I bought all of her books at once, and a few weeks ago I also read her book “Our Way”, which I found one of the most amazing books I ever read. This book must be read by all readers, who will appreciate the essence of true love and acceptance. A true hymn to love.
Of course, all this time, I was awaiting for her next novel, “The Takeover”. I wanted to learn about the story of Tristan, who fascinated me with his kindness and sense of humor in “Miles High Club”. And, at last, I took it in my hands, only to find out that it wasn’t Tristan’s story, but Tristan and Claire’s story. A book about their families, their past, their current lives and their effort to build a future.
Tristan met Claire on the process of buying her business. He is instantly charmed by her and he claims her. Claire is a widow, who raises her three boys all alone and tries to survive in the hard world of corporations. She rejects Tristan’s business and romantic proposals and she decides to go on with her ordinary life. But both fate and Tristan have different plans.
T.L.Swan, once again, fascinated me. She created a wonderful love story, using all the platitudes of contemporary romance, without the story being cliché or stereotypical. Tristan has all the features of a usual hero of a romantic novel, only to find out that he is far from being a usual one. Claire, on the other hand, is portraired like a usual romantic heroine, but she behaves like this only to gain safety and stability in her everyday life. Their relationship is explosive and they have to learn to leave behind the bargains of their past. They must fight –some times literally– with their families, their emotions, their business plans for the future and their diversity.
This is one of the best books I have ever read. You will fall for Tristan and Claire, their relationship and dynamic. You will be amused with Claire’s intimidating and overprotective children –I loved them all, especially the “young wizard”, who won a place in my heart – you will cry with their heartache, their loss and their expectations of a new love. I wasn’t expecting T.L. Swan to make me cry again, after the “Our Way”. But she did it again. I cried, I laughed, I wandered around in Paris with her heroes and I’m truly anticipating for her next novel. I don’t know how she does it, but she makes me full of joy and hope, after every book of hers that I read.
P.S. Something tells me that in her next novel of the “Miles High Club” series, T.L. Swan will show us her skills in painting.
Greek Version:
Swan, μετά το «Our Way», να με κάνει να κλάψω τόσο γρήγορα.
“The way you make me feel is worth anything,”
I started this series the wrong way and everyone kept telling me Tristan Miles was the best. And I said there was no way he’d be better than Elliot. I’ve never been happier to be wrong.
Tristan f***ing Miles is absolute perfection and I need to know how to get myself one just like him. You can keep the money – the man would definitely be enough.
“Damn asshole is a double-edged sword: gorgeous to look at, impossible to tolerate.”
Tristan knows what he wants and he goes for it, both in business and in his personal life. He’s cocky, arrogant, bossy, self-assured, and so fucking hot I can’t even… I get that for most readers this would be a turn-off, but not for me. And then the layers in this man – he’s the whole package. The same drive that makes him great in business makes him a million times better in bed and everywhere else.
Yep, I’m in love.
“When I’m holding her in my arms like this, intimacy is running between us like a river, and just for a moment . . . She is mine.”
Relating to Claire was easy, even if I don’t have kids myself. She’s a real woman, with scars, stretch marks, and insecurities that go beyond her body and are already part of who she is. She’s a widow, raising her kids alone, and very much still in the shadow of her ex-husband, their past, and their love for each other.
Until Tristan comes in and rocks her world.
“Don’t be scared of calling me Tristan.” I roll my eyes. “Because one day very soon, I predict that you’re going to be moaning it.”
I love that this is enemies to lovers, and I particularly love that she’s taking none of his sh**. Of course, she won’t be able to resist him, but their banter while she’s trying to is so much fun. Again, she’s a real woman, and her inner monologues make perfect sense to me.
“What makes you think that I want to eat you?” I whisper. His eyes drop to my lips. “Because I want to eat you, and it’s manners to reciprocate.”
He’s relentless in his pursuit of her. Women everywhere would have probably given in way earlier, but she makes him sweat. She’s definitely into him, but it needs to be in her own terms as well, and not only the way he wants it to be. I love that he wants her for who she is, with everything that comes with it, and not just some made-up, tamer version of herself.
And when all the sex finally happens… I’d very much like to switch places with her. Now. Please and thank you.
“So . . . sleeping with only you . . . isn’t a problem for me.” His lips touched mine. “However, not sleeping with you is a torture I won’t tolerate.”
He doesn’t do relationships. She doesn’t want to, and doesn’t have the time to, have a fling. It’s obvious for anyone that this is not just sex or a casual thing, except for both of them. It’s adorable to see them fighting against it until they’re both in too deep.
I loved Tristan with Claire’s kids and their pets. There were times when I was laughing so hard I looked like a crazy person. It’s hysterical.
“I feel that when I’m with you, I’m who I’m supposed to be.”
TL Swan brings some angst with this one – not as much, in my opinion, as in the two other books in the series. It’s also not the same type of angst – it has deeper roots and it’s totally understandable, even if I would like to have shaken Claire a few times. I mean… this man is just there for her in every way he can be.
“Happiness is to be loved by you.”
The Takeover gave me all the feelings. I laughed and cried hard, I swooned a lot, and I wanted to be a part of it. Tristan and Claire are made for each other, and it may have taken them a bit to get there, but they are who they need to be. For each other. Because of each other. All the way.
This pulled me in from the beginning and took me on the full roller coaster of ups downs and loop-d-loops of emotions. I could not put it down until the end and even then I was upset it was over. I loved this story.
I had trouble putting this down It made me laugh out loud several times and just the right amount of steaminess! Highly recommend
In the second book of this series we meet Tristan Miles. He is strong, wealthy and is determined to have everything he wants, including the woman he repeatedly tells him no. After a conference he is speaking at in France brings him and face to face with her again, will she be able to resist is persistent charm and still hate him even though he no longer has interest in buying her company? You will have to jump in and feel the steam as these two try to avoid the chemistry that brews between them.
Absolutely loved this book!
Claire & Tristan and her kids stole my heart!
CJ Bloom and Sebastian York were amazing as always but I do wish there was more of his chapters.
I loved the journey Tristan took and how he matured and evolved.
Claire is just so beautiful and fierce and fragile. Her 3 boys were so awesome and crazy and adorable!!
I’ve listened to this book at least 3 times and will listen a few more I’m sure.
not sure how the other Miles brothers can top him!
I love the characters in this book!!!
I FLOVED this book! Better than the first IMO. The banter between Tristan and the boys had me laughing out loud. There was everything I want in a book; hot times, sweet times, heartbreaking times, funny times and loving times. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.
This is book two on the Miles High Club series, but it can be read as a standalone. It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV.
Claire is a widow with three sons who is trying desperately to keep the company her husband created alive and well for her sons to inherit. When she meets Tristan, it is to refuse his offer to buy out her company. They have all the sparks: anger, passion, physical chemistry. When they meet again months later, the sparks are still there. Tristan is not used to working to get the girl. Normally they fall all over him. He likes that Claire is different. The heat between them is insane. I love how they have fun and conversation in the bedroom along with passion.
Claire has three sons, and her life is not easy. Her kids are struggling and so is she. Tristan eventually forms a relationship with each of them after a very rocky start. Some of my favorite moments are between Tristan and Claire’s boys. They were really special. Tristan is a good guy and I fell hard for him. I liked him a lot more than his brother Jameson. He is sensitive and intuitive and kind. Their road is not all rainbows. They have some tough moments that felt very realistic given the circumstances. There are layers to this story, and I loved every one of them.
I listened to more than half of this book through the audible narration and finished it via eBook. I adore the read and listen through KU option available for this one. The narration was superb. I honestly don’t know how the narrators could read some of the parts to the story and not laugh out loud. I couldn’t do it. I did not plan on finishing this book right away, but I could not put it down. I needed Tristan to get his HEA, and I was overjoyed when it finally came.
” ‘ , , … .”
: adult contemporary, billionaire hero, age gap (woman older), single mom, funny banter, steamy af
Y’all it’s official: I’m head over heels with Mr Tristan Miles. How am I supposed to be fine after meeting the most perfect man in the world? Miss Tee ruined men for me
Tristan Miles is everyone’s dream man. He is rich, sexy, gorgeous, funny, but most importantly, once he finds his woman, he does anything he can to make her happy. He knows for so many reasons, he can’t be with Claire, but he works hard to make it work, including doing anything in his power to own her kids’ heart.
The kids at first treat him poorly, but as I’m saying, Tristan slowly gets into their lives and helps them figure out their problems (something that their mother couldn’t do by herself).
So why didn’t I give the book 5 stars? For one reason only: Claire Anderson!!! At first, I understood her struggles and hesitation to be with Tristan, but then towards the last 20%, her comments, attitude and thoughts were bullsh*t. She was selfish and cruel towards him, only because she never got over her de@d husband. She is definitely not worthy of Tristan’s love.
Now back to the side characters, I have to say the kids are amazing. At first they were pissed off with Tristan because they didn’t want their mother to move on, but slowly they formed a special bond with him, which is hands down the best part of the book.
Honestly, besides not connecting with the heroine, I do recommend you to pick this book up for three reasons: Tristan, the kids and all the hilarious scenes that Tee nailed to write. For all that, you HAVE to read it asap!!!
Claire’s business is in trouble, but she can’t sell it, it was her husband’s dream, and she wants to keep his dream alive. Claire knows all Tristian wants to do is buy her company and take it apart and destroy her husband’s company.
Convinced to go to a retreat for a week, Claire never expected Tristian to be there, he’s persistent and her friend said to have fun, so she decided to give in to him for a night, which turns into a week. Letting him know they will never work after.
Christian isn’t one to give up easily, even after stopping at Claire’s and seeing her children which didn’t end well, he’s sights are set on Claire and he’s not going to stop until she realises what they have.
Can Claire look to her future and let go of her past.
Wow! What an emotional roller coaster!! TL Swan just keeps bringing it with each story she writes and I am here for it!
If you have read TL Swan you know that she isn’t shy and knows her way around those bedroom scenes, but this story is so much more than that!!
This is the second book in her “Miles High Club” series and it is just as addicting as book one. This is Tristan’s story, and we get to see under his hard shell to all the gooey goodness that he doesn’t want anyone to see. He steps up and shows just what an amazing man can and should be.
I loved this story, there is so much emotion and it just makes these characters so much more than words on a page. Do not miss out on this series! They do not need to be read in order, but they all do need to be read.
So if you like strong swoony alphas grab this book with both hands and don’t let go!
OMG I LOVED THIS BOOK.!!!
I Honestly thought that the second book could not be any better or funnier than the first book in this series, but I was so so wrong.
The Takeover is equally as Hilarious as book 1.
This is Tristan’s story and it was EVERYTHING and more I have never laughed as hard,my stomach muscles have definately got a workout and I think I have got more laughter lines due to reading this book.
I Loved Tristan and Claire’s relationship,I enjoyed their banter it was so much fun to read, she is a widow with 3 sons…and her first meeting with Tristan is not a favourable one…she hates him as he wants to buy her late husband’s company.
I cannot fault this story at all it had it all Humour, sexy steamy times and emotion, because behind all the laughter there is a very poignant story about Love and loss and trying to let go of the past without guilt.
I Love Tristan he is so swoony worthy honestly he is the perfect guy and his interaction’s with Claire’s sons was very funny, sweet and gave me all the feels at times. They certainly put him through it and it was such a pleasure to read and as funny as hell.
T.L.Swan has excelled herself writing this story, and it is in my opinion another winner for this series,it makes me excited to read book 3 and 4.
T.L Swan is becoming one of my favourite authors,I cannot get enough of her witty, clever and brilliant words.
I highly recommend this Amazing book.
5 Stars.
I heard about this book on a FB forum and the person said Tristan and the three boys were hysterical, it was great laugh. I noticed nothing was mentioned about Claire, the mother, but I didn’t think anything about it. I did switch over to the audio and thought the narrators did a good job, but it didn’t improve my opinion of Claire.
I started reading this book and discovered I could absolutely not STAND Claire. Deep breath. I’m wondering if I can continue with this book as much as this woman offends me. So far, she is rude and judgmental. But, I’m waiting for the good part of this book to appear.
I finally get to where Tristan and the three boys interact. It is an hysterical first meeting that had me falling over on my side. It was tear worthy funny. Then they brought Claire back into the book and I went back to not being able to stand her.
I won’t go into the details of all of the back and forth. Bottom line, the interaction between Tristan and the three boys was always on point, even when it was difficult. I thought Claire’s behavior was trash almost from beginning to end. I did like Emily and Marley. I could have done without Tristan’s mother.
I thought the there was a better solution for the ending, but that was probably just me. Seemed to me like Tristan had done most of the giving throughout the entire book.
This would have been 5 stars if not for Claire’s personality. I am going with 3.5 as it stands.
TL Swan is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine! I am devouring her books! I loved this one! Tristan was fantastic and Claire was great with him. They had amazing chemistry and I loved seeing her kids with him. This one had me swooning and cracking up and I couldn’t get enough! I can’t wait for Elliot’s book!
Amazing !!
Fucking Amazing.
Single parent books with age gaps are not my first choice i have to say but the synopsis was certainly very interesting so i was like…why the fuck not ?
And let me tell you this book did not let me down at all!!!
It was fantastic and i laughed a little too much to be honest.
Tristan is the perfect book boyfriend and it is hard to not fall in love with him.
He is fun , determined to win over Claire’s boys even though they are oh so stubborn ….his dynamic with her kids is the best thing because even tho they put him through a lot ….he stays and wins them over wholeheartedly. Tristan and Claire certainly are an amusing couple and with Claire’s children in the mix ….it was hilarious!!
Claire is this strong minded, working , single mother and is very possessive of her kids and sometimes gets a little too defensive over her family.
Claire …I have to say is a very funny and lovely character and i love her fiery attitude.
It started off with her hating Tristan for wanting to takeover her late husband’s company and then them meeting six months later at a work conference and being attracted to eachother and acting on their heated connection but making it only a one time thing but do you really think it will be a one time thing ?
Fate makes them come back together again and again and does not make it easy for them to stay together.
The characters go through a lot of development which is really good.
This book is super steamy and utterly hilarious and i loved every minute of it.!
This is the second book in the miles high club series.

The Takeover book two in the Miles High Club series is only my second book by T.L. Swan and while book one left me with such mixed emotions book two left me reeling for much much more of this beautiful authors way with words. From page one I was sucked in and while it took me a good 40% to get really sucked in, the second half of the book was such perfection that I can’t even let it affect my review.
Both Tristan and Clare couldn’t have been more opposite but at the same time more perfect for one another. Claire having been a widow now for five years only wants to keep her husband’s company going strong and make sure her three boys are taken care of. While Tristan seemingly has everything, a billionaire could want there is still something missing and while he thinks it is Claire, the woman he can’t get off his mind. She comes with more baggage than he wants to handle.
This story is laid out so beautifully from the way their relationship unfolds, to the way Claire’s three boys evolve to loving Tristan and everything in between. When I first sat down to write this review I was bouncing back and forth between four and five stars but now after thinking about it this is a five-star read all the way for me. I really hope that we get two more books out of the Miles High Series and can see what happens with Tristan and Jameson’s other two brothers.
