Tully Morgan hasn’t been back to Marietta for more than a few brief visits since the night of the 1996 senior prom eighteen years ago, when the chance exposure of a long-held family secret sent her running to her uncle in California in shock. She stood up her date Ren Fletcher that night, and she hasn’t seen him since. Now she’s here for an extended stay, to help take care of her seriously ill … seriously ill mother. It’s an edgy reconciliation, the first time that Tully, Patty and Sugar Morgan have been together since that long ago prom night. Tully has had so much anger toward Sugar… can she ever forgive her?
And Sugar still has one more secret that needs to be dealt with, one that needs Ren Fletcher’s help. Has he forgiven Tully for leaving him in the lurch on prom night? And is there any chance that he and Tully can rekindle what they might once have had, when he’s still tied to someone else?

Very well written. Believable characters.
The drama of the characters seemed realistic. Real feelings, reactions, and behaviors. Not all sweet and surface but challenging situations similar to many we all face in our families.
I had to keep reading this book. I liked the characters, would like them to be friends. I would recommend this book to everyone!
it was ok
An emotional roller coaster for the heroine. She should be a psychotic case with all the events being thrown at her, but she pulls through. Well worth reading.
Predictable
The forgiveness in the family.
The characters were real. A book about true forgiveness.
I keep thinking about the characters, even weeks after I read it!
Interesting story line. Shows how you can change your mind about a person.
great read
Emotional responses were gritty and authentic. Almost didn’t read because the title sounded like some person was going to be too gushy sweet. Nothing gushy in this book…only raw truth. Excellent read.
Very much enjoyed this story and what happens when drugs are involved in a family. Wonderful ending.
This is a very well written book. It was quite real for me…I laughed and cried.
If you read to escape the real world, this may not be for you. However, if you believe in faith and family, READ THIS BOOK!
Redemption five times over. A wish for any family that suffered the effects of the illegal drug trade of California. A perfect story that could be plucked out of the daily news but with a happier ending.
Wow, this is going in my ‘read again’ stack. This was a very emotional read but not without humor and moments of true joy. The writing is intelligent and engaging and this band of characters, this family, are written so realistically that I felt everything they felt. Superb story and unlike any I’ve read. I’m a new fan of this author!
