Read.this via KU. It is as the title says a sweet thing! Nathan and Scotty relationship blossoms quickly and with a little drama and angst they get there HEA
Imagine being in love with someone who doesn’t notice you, and him being your brothers best friend. Scotty always loved Nathan, but never got a chance. Years later when Nathan returned to help his grandfather fix up the house, a hook up app connects the two. Though Nathan has no idea it was Scotty, so much had changed.
What a wonderful story, two guys who can’t get enough of each other, but Nathan eventually will go back to his own home, so an expiration was agreed upon. Falling in love is easy but accepting it, dealing with family, makes it a little complicated. These guys are just perfect for each other. The laughter, the love, the way they support each other through everything is amazing! This is definitely a great start to a new and exciting series!
I loved reading about Scott and Nathan. This book is super sweet and has some angst. I loved the chemistry and emotions.
This book was super sweet, very sexy, and relatively low angst. It was also so enjoyable that I know I’ll read it again. I loved Scotty and Nathan, and I rooted for them from page one. Scotty had wanted Nathan for years, though Nathan didn’t recognize him as the kid he remembered. It made me happy how Nathan was into everything about Scotty pretty much from the very beginning of the book.
The secondary characters were great, but Scotty and Nathan were always the center of my attention. I hope to see more of them as this series continues.
I enjoyed my first EM Denning solo book (I’ve read co-written books before). I love older brother’s best friend stories and I especially love when you find acceptance in not so usual characters. Nathan’s grandfather was an absolutely amazing character in my book not only because he was so accepting of his own grandson but also because you could tell he felt pain for what Scotty had to go through early on when he came out. I found unexpected dynamics in this relationship and while I won’t say it here, I totally enjoyed the difference from the usual power struggle. Finding out that you had a one night stand with your best friends little brother is hard enough, but finding yourself enthralled with said brother and unable to stay away…well that will definitely complicate things. Will Nathan allow himself to fall completely or will he forever be pulled in another direction? Read this and find out.
The Sweetest Thing is the first book in The Blackburn Brothers Duet series by E.M. Denning. This a a fantastic best friend’s little brother, contemporary m/m romance with characters that make you fall in love. Scotty and Nathan are fantastic… I love the way their relationship starts and evolves. The story has a little drama, lots of steam, and lots of love.
I received an advanced reader’s copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
