Oh my stars, five and more! Mariah Stone has checked off all the elements necessary to weave a magically enchanting, time travel story of love. It was a thing of sheer beauty watching Andor and Cathy’s transformation throughout the story. Mariah pulled me into the story from the very first line, and I was hooked. Her writing stimulates the senses so much so that you become one with the characters, their emotions and their surroundings. I could not put this book down until the end. This one will stay with you long after you’ve read the last page. I cried, I loved, I shuddered, and I smile. I just can’t get enough and wait with bated breath to see what she comes up with next. Thank you so much Mariah for such and enchanting story!
I loved the storyline of Surf of Time. The way Cathy wasn’t just a meek, defenseless but a bad-a** woman drew me in! She didn’t run from danger but ran towards it(ok caused it a couple times but hey it happens lol) The relationships throughout the book pulled you in and I couldn’t put it down! Totally worth reading!

Got enjoyment from this book.
The story line was uninteresting and the characters weren’t someone you wanted to get to know.
could have been more fleshed out story
I love time travel books in the story was terrific! I love the challenges in their relationships and gradual character development. It was terrific how they combined the past with the future and how they were both able to relate to one another even through there difference in time. It’s a must-read very sexy and passionate!
Truly enjoyed this time travel romance. It has a few tear jerker moments, and a realistic ending that I appreciated. Gotta love those sexy Vikings. 😉
The “out-of-time” couple have a difficult start. They must overcome grief that has been with each of them for years. It is interesting to watch how the gifts they gave to each other helped to heal and transform them. I like time travel stories and found this one enjoyable.

This was a fun and entertaining read. I love time-travel romances, and Ms. Stone is an excellent storyteller. It goes without saying that in a fantasy genre such as this one, you need to just relax and enjoy the story, and not focus too much on things that seem unrealistic or far-fetched, since that’s what fantasy is all about. Fortunately, I was able to do that with most of The Surf of Time. While neither of the main characters was all that likable to me during the first half of the story, I did like the storyline, and found myself rooting for them to get it together and get over their insecurities/hang-ups at some point so they could find their HEA. I didn’t particularly care for the yoga and vegan aspect of the story, and thought, if it was really such a transforming and life-affirming ritual, it should have helped the heroine to have a better self-image than she had. If yoga really “centered” her, why would all of her self-worth be wrapped up in being loved/accepted by a man? It made her seem weak to me, in spite of the fact that she was strong physically. And why would anyone practically starve themselves out in the middle of nowhere (especially when food is being caught and cooked for you) just to maintain a vegan lifestyle? At this point, survival should have been her first priority. Regardless, the characters both grew on me as the story progressed through all of the challenges they faced, to the point that I was totally invested emotionally in them making it as a couple. My compliments to the author.

Great time travel. Cathy is a modern woman in crisis. When she is thrown back in time and rescues Andor who is dealing with his own crisis. As they travel their relationship grows. Likeable characters and a good story. If you like Vikings and/or time travel in a fast paced adventure you’ll enjoy this book. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).
This is a great read from the first word to the last word. It is part of a great series also. The author knows how to write a story.

Wow!!! I read this book as soon as I downloaded it. Cathy’s fiancé was on life support after an accident. Brad’s parent’s and family, after a year, were ready to let him go. Not Cathy. They gave her two weeks. When Cathy left, she went to the beach where they surfed and his accident occurred. As she was on her surfboard, she noticed the older lady next to her on her board. After talking, the lady gave her a spindle and said someone else, Andor, needed her to save his life. The twists and turns in this book is great. The author wrote a well developed story and the characters are great. To know the ending, you must read this book
Kudos for another fabulous read. The type of book you can’t put down but you don’t want it to end. I will let other people tell you the story I like to tell you the emotion it brings forth. This book is filled with emotion. Lip rings about the humanistic need for a person to punish themselves. It shows how guilt can affect everyone. It affects both of our characters. And the way the result of it is realistic. Anger is the first thing I felt. Anger that they could not see past the guilt. Our female character is like many of us so ingrained with the poor self image. Been there done that. Our male character denies his self-worth. So we have sadness. Sadness that we can see more in the characters and they see them selves. Sensuality yes it is a feeling. Romantic sexual sensuality. When they finally “get it done“ you are ready just to cheer and drool. Very well developed sexual scenes. Very hot sexual scenes. Loved every minute of it.
You will not want to miss this book
I’m not a huge fantasy, time travel genre fan, but Mariah Stone has changed my mind. I love this book as well as the other books in the Called by a Viking series. Andor and Cathy’s story is one that starts with heartbreak and unthinkable decisions that need to be made. Other reviewers will give the details of the book, but I won’t. I will say theses characters are written with depth and true character, the book flows well, the heart will break little along the way. But the ending will reconfirm your hopeful heart. I loved this book!!
****I received an ARC from Booksprout and this is my honest review****
I liked it. Cathy , a curvy yoga instructor in 2019 is confused and rebelling again her future in-laws about her fiancée health condition. Andor, Viking in 877 AD who believes his choices causes disasters to those her loves. Both try to find answers to questions they have in their own time. Cathy and Andor eventually meet up with an sword fighting, yoga relaxing adventures. There are laughs and nail biting pieces that keeps you guessing. Both needs to get home and face their fears and live their life. No cliffhangers, vague yet accurate information on history provided. Developed characters and situations in both times.

I cannot remember where I bumped into Ms. Stone’s time travel romance novels, but I did, and am forever grateful. Her books not only transport her characters through time, but her readers as well! I escape for hours with each new novel I read. I feel what her characters feel! I smile, I cry, I get tingly, and much more. I am a definite fan, and watch and wait impatiently for more!
I totally loved this book. It had everything you could want from a time travel book. I loved Cathy she is such a strong woman, the chemistry between her and Andor is so strong with both of them denying what they feel. Such an amazing story, I loved everything about it. A must read.
