When does a girl become a woman? Is it when she graduates high school? When she turns eighteen?Or when she loses her virginity…?Gloria Goodman couldn’t wait to graduate and to be of legal age. Living in an abusive home and then in foster care matured her beyond her years. Now she needs to earn extra money this summer before moving away to college and away from her former life. She’s found the … money this summer before moving away to college and away from her former life. She’s found the perfect job, but the man doing the hiring doesn’t like her.
Nate Larsen is the sexy, popular, high school biology teacher the girls lust for and the boys admire. Uninterested in the flirty and flighty students he teaches, he remembers “Gloomy Gloria” because she nearly failed his class. He’s not happy to see her apply for the job he reserved for his favorite student, who is also Gloria’s best friend. But he desperately needs help over the summer term, and when Gloria impresses him with her office skills, he sees her in a new way that’s not entirely academic—nor professional.
Gloria may be eighteen and never been kissed…but she’s still too young for him. Isn’t she? As the summer heats up, so does Gloria and Nate’s desire for each other. Can they contain themselves? Will others use their secret to destroy them? Or will their behavior spawn consequences?

May – December relationship and so swoony
I want more. I loved Gloria and Nate’s story. I felt the romance, the anguish, the doubt, the love. So many feelings and a great story to boot. The tease of a sequel by the author has me saying, “YES, PLEASE!” Society said their relationship, although both old enough for consent, was taboo but what do they know.
A well written story that has strong, realistic characters, romance and a bit of humor added in. A great romance story to add to your reading list. Captivating and keeps the reader turning the pages late in to the night.

I usually don’t go for high school romances. It feels perving reading the love scenes of minors. The MC in this one has just graduated and is working as an assistant for her old teacher. He always thought of her as “Gloomy Gloria” but now sees her as a beautiful woman he can’t help but desire. Gloria just want to make some money to before she heads off to college. It helps that she is working for her crush; she wants him so bad. Soon nothing stops these two, but will their secret romance destroy everything they built?
This is a quick read with an ambiguous ending that can left interpretation.

I admit to having a weakness for the forbidden romance trope, so when I stumbled across this book and read the blurb I was intrigued. After reading it, I thought it was a good read but I did have some issues with it. I did like Gloria and I felt for the painful history she had. She was sweet, capable and strong. As for Nate, I thought he was just OK. I really didn’t like some of his actions and attitudes. I did think these two had good chemistry and there was no denying the heat they created together. I’m not sure if the author intends on writing more of this couple’s story but I do feel that more is needed. This is my independant, impartial review.
Simple, but very well written and moving
Good romance, simple overall, but very well written. The feelings are well described and we feel the emotions of the characters, enough not to blame the predictable side sometimes. The story is both tender and warm, with good characters.
Gloria spends the interview for the work that her friend had to have, but as she goes on holiday in Paris, she offered her to meet his former teacher to be his TA and to type his texts. However, during his last year in high school, Professor Larsen (Nate), had barely granted a C to Gloria in his class. Nate hires her, even if he is disappointed not to have the person he had chosen. Yet he discovers that Gloria is the person he did not expect: she is smart, intelligent, efficient and strong facing her past. They are attracted, but between the age gap, the jealousy of an old conquest, Gloria’s family, and the doubts that their relationship might cast over a relationship that could have started earlier in high school, their connection is undermined.
