RETTA . . .
Fulfilling her dying sister’s request, Retta travels across dangerous territory to marry a man she barely remembers. TWO PEOPLE . . .
Thrown together in shared sorrow, Harrison and Retta struggle to forge a life in the brand-new state of late-nineteenth-century Colorado.

This was an enjoyable romantic, mystery read. It kept me entertained and was well written.
Story 4.5/5

Liked this book
Good story but too much sex.
An enjoyable read!
insightful as to mining in the gold and silver rush era
It always surprises me how they can come up with all these new plots for a mail order bride.
great read
A great read, fast read, couldn’t out of down
A warm-hearted book with characters you fall in love with because of their strong resilience.
I liked the flow of the book. Not an extreme amount of sex.
I enjoyed it. It is different than other romance novels, very refreshing.
The plot was very believable!
A nice clean romance. Entertaining and relaxing.
A historical romance with great characters. Set in the time of the silver mines and travels to the west, but not your typical mail order bride romance. This romance has a little bit of steam, The couple Retta Pierce and Harrison Carter weren’t supposed to get married but when Harrison’s intended finds out she’s passing away she sends her sister Retta and niece Adeline in her place. Beautiful love story that will keep you reading cover to cover!
This was the first book I’d read by this author. It was packed with the history of Colorado silver mining. It was well-paced and held my attention. I will definitely read more in this series and by this author.
A great example of a story where the main characters make the best of a bad situation and it all works out well.
I liked good read
In many ways this book was wonderful–entertaining and action-packed, but although I love romance, I felt like there was just too much sex to be realistic.
Wonderful read – enjoyed very much
Great characters.
Loved the story.
Read all four books.
Loved the community feeling.
But wished the women made smarter choices, that got them in trouble. But they helped get themselves out of trouble. So that was a good thing.
