Like the twist of the substitute bride. Interesting how the couple grew to love each other
Harrison Carter sends back east for his soon to be wife, they had been waiting for him to make the mine a success. When the stage arrives its her sister and niece that greets his eyes. His poor Jenny was about to die, so she send her younger sister who had been raped four years ago to be her replacement. Retta needed a new start, Adeline needed a daddy and Harrison needed to do the right thing and make it all better.
Add one very bad, evil scumbag and you’ve got a pretty good story.
The trials and tribulations are many for the twin sister that takes her dying sister’s place as his bride.
Fun story with delightful characters. Fast paced and the story developed in a nice way. Entertaining!
I like the development of the twin characters in this story. Nicely done and easy to read.
As I read stories of young loves waiting to be married as the groom goes west to establish himself and ready a home for a family, tragedy often happens. This novel has a different twist; the bride to be sends her sister west. It is a difficult start for Harrison and Retta. I enjoyed the book so much I immediately had to purchase the next book in the series of Brides of Little Creed. Can’t wait to see what else happens.
Well developed characters and plot . Recommend for those who like historical romance and suspense.
The female character seemed shallow, even when the author tried to create a braver heroine, it just fell short ifvrealustic
Great read

An amazing journey of two people to happiness. Retta and her little girl Addie traveled to Little Creede, Colorado. Her sister Jenny was suppose to be the one traveling to marry and make her life with her sweetheart Harrison. They had not seen each other in over four years, and had waited to marry once Harrison made the mine a success and was ready for a wife. But Jenny was dying of consumption, their Pa beat Retta, her younger sister and Jenny found the solution to send Jenny in her place.
Wowza! This is such an intense story and with the amazing narration of Alan Taylor (one of my favorites) you are pulled right into the story. Full of everything needed to enthrall the listener including suspense, a vile villain, a handsome tough man who has a wonderful heart and his brother plus the sweetest little girl who will win your heart. I cannot wait to listen to the next two in this series!!!
Really enjoyed this book. Characters kept me interested throughout the story.
I can’t recommend this book because it had too much sex. I put it down and didn’t finish. The story premise seemed ok with the sister dying that was engaged and sent her sister with a daughter in her place, but too much steam.
Fun to read and great to read after getting taxes done!
In the first couple of chapters there are already explicit sex scenes. I tried paging forward and picking up the story later past the sex; but I found that there was little story at all. I didn’t want to read about sex. I wanted to read the story. Really disappointed. I will not be reading anything from this author again!
Didn’t get very far into it before I quit. Language too crude.
Didn’t want to put it down.
