‘Twas the night (okay, more like the week) before Christmas, and all through the tiny community of Pine Cove, California, people are busy buying, wrapping, packing, and generally getting into the holiday spirit.
But not everybody is feeling the joy. Little Joshua Barker is in desperate need of a holiday miracle. No, he’s not on his deathbed; no, his dog hasn’t run away from home. But Josh is … Josh is sure that he saw Santa take a shovel to the head, and now the seven-year-old has only one prayer: Please, Santa, come back from the dead.
But hold on! There’s an angel waiting in the wings. (Wings, get it?) It’s none other than the Archangel Raziel come to Earth seeking a small child with a wish that needs granting. Unfortunately, our angel’s not sporting the brightest halo in the bunch, and before you can say “Kris Kringle,” he’s botched his sacred mission and sent the residents of Pine Cove headlong into Christmas chaos, culminating in the most hilarious and horrifying holiday party the town has ever seen.
Move over, Charles Dickens — it’s Christopher Moore time.

Moore at his best.
I couldn’t leave the Christmas season without at least one review of a Christmas book. Given that I like the genre(s) of thriller, crime, mystery, and horror; I was delighted to find this seasonally appropriate book which author Christopher Moore describes as “A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror.” In The Stupidest Angel, I couldn’t find the …
It is definitely not Christmas for me until I read this book. It is far from the Dickens version of a Happy Christmas. It is a wonderful book and it very funny and weird. It is never Christmas for me without it!
Too silly and discombobulated. I usually like this author a lot but not this book.
I found this book soooo strange but also funny.
Not impressed
Deeply wierd
Love him!!!
Unique and entertaining read.
Very unconventional book. That’s why I liked it so much!
Stupid. Couldn’t finish it
Love Christopher Moore and his quirky sense of humor
Time is NEVER wasted reading any of Christopher Moore books. In a time of crappy reality I always know that reading anyone of his books will be a LOLOUTLOUD experience. Highly recommend The Stupidest Angel.
There was very interesting character and plot development at the start. I stopped reading it when the plot jumped the shark about halfway through when the Undead came out of the cemetery. Sad, because I thought this was a promising read.
Very weird and disturbed story, but I kept on reading to the end. I’m not really sure why.
Thoroughly enjoyed it
Funny but not for the faint of heart.
Christopher Moore will keep you in stitches.
Laugh out loud funny!
This is one giant easter egg for fans of Christopher Moore. It has references to so many of his other books like Fluke, Lamb, Island of the secret love nun and the other two pine cove books, yet as always it stands alone.
If this is your introduction to Christopher Moore, then important to know that his works are raunchy, irreverant and most of …
