“Funny, tender, and moving, The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry reminds us all exactly why we read and why we love.”*
A. J. Fikry’s life is not at all what he expected it to be. He lives alone, his bookstore is experiencing the worst sales in its history, and now his prized possession, a rare collection of Poe poems, has been stolen. But when a mysterious package appears at the bookstore, its … at the bookstore, its unexpected arrival gives Fikry the chance to make his life over–and see everything anew.

loved this book … one of the best I’ve ever read.
A thoroughly enjoyable story
Very original story and great characters. I recommend this book.
This is a wonderful story of finding oneself and going beyond what you initially planned. I enjoyed the characters, the mystery that also was present and the ending.
A good read. Nice twist at the end. Thought the daughter could have figured out what the Dad was saying at the end. Enjoyed it.
A clever, modern take on Silas Marner that, despite the overwhelming majority of good reviews, I wasn’t sure I liked at first because the main character is another in a long line of unlikables. But I stuck with it and by the time I finished I was in live with A. J. and all the characters so much I hated to leave them.
Extremely well written book focussed on characters who love reading and love books. The plot has a few unexpected twists.
I enjoyed the format. A few friends did not. The developing relationships were interesting and touching.
The writing style annoyed me at first, but it grew on me. Charming.
I really enjoyed this book. No violence, blood or gore, just a nice, interesting story about people I came to care about and the way their relationships developed.
Just a nice easy read
a very well crafted warm story
I enjoyed the characters and I always like it when there is a child in the story and a twist at the end.
Sweet book but sad.
A very enjoyable experience.
A book about book lovers. I enjoyed how characters’s lives were transformed when the quirky and introverted Mr Fikry brought them to reading.
A well written book. Enjoyed reading. Interesting characters.
You are what you read. Your life is made up of short stories. Your life is not a novel. People will only remember the best parts and then only for a while. Make the best of what you have while you have it.
Great book club book. Easy read. Excellent for discussion.
If you love books, this is a must read. Not going to tell you the story. All I can tell you is you are likely to really enjoy reading it.
I liked it in that it was different. As a former librarian, I could relate to the love of books and adjustment to technology, and at the same time providing opportunities for people to connect over books. Along with this scenario is the complex intertwined lives of the characters. I enjoyed it a lot.
