A memorable night of passion refuses to stay just a memory in this sizzling and scandalous romance from bestselling author T L Swan.I was upgraded to first class on a flight from London to New York. The food, champagne, and service were impeccable. The blue-eyed man sitting next to me, even better. He was suave and intelligent. We talked and laughed, and something clicked. Fate took over and the … and something clicked.
Fate took over and the plane was grounded, and we had an unexpected stopover for the night.
With no plans, we made our own.
We danced and laughed our way around Boston and had a night of crazy passion that no woman would ever forget.
That was twelve months ago, and I haven’t heard from him—until today.
I started a new job and met the CEO. You can imagine my surprise to see those naughty blue eyes dance with delight when he saw me across the mahogany desk.
But I’m not that carefree girl anymore. My life has changed, I have responsibilities.
I just got an email.
He wants to see me in his office for a private meeting at 8:00 a.m.
Naughty blue eyes have no place in the workplace.
What kind of private meeting does he have in mind?

He’s a ruthless, mercurial, billionaire CEO. She is a reporter who’s just landed her dream job for a media giant. Jameson King and Emily Foster are both stubborn and hard headed as they come. Their relationship is volatile and sinfully steamy.
Emily and Jameson are complete opposites but are destine to be together. Lots of memorable moments between these characters makes this a wonderful story, especially the camping trip. It was hilarious.
This was a wonderful surprise. It was fun and entertaining and I loved the characters. Once I started reading this story, I couldn’t put it down. I hope there will be stories about the other Miles brother.
This was my first book by TL Swan, and I really enjoyed it! I liked the characters- Jameson and Emily- a lot. Jameson was the perfect amount of alpha for me, and I liked that Emily had a bit of a backbone.
Great start to a series that I can’t wait to continue!
I didn’t think TL Could beat the Stanton series, but this series is shaping up to rival it! 5 stars
TL Swan has just become my favourite author! I’m so in love with the miles brothers. Bring on more, Tee!
4.5 stars – this was a fab read! It was funny, sexy, and pretty emotional.
“When I look at you…I have one thing on my mind…I can’t help it. It’s almost primal.”
Jameson Miles and Emily Foster meet on a flight when her seat gets upgraded to first class. They hit it off straight away – he’s flirty and she’s snarky. When they make an unexpected stopover due to weather conditions, they spend an amazing, scorching night together, but he doesn’t ask for her number when they part ways.
“The heat that this man creates with his stare could light up the earth.”
A year later, Emily lands her dream job…only to find that her ‘Jim’ is the CEO of the company. And, their chemistry is still sizzling hot. She fights hard against the attraction, not wanting to jeopardise her job, but he fights equally hard to persuade her to spend time with him. As things start to heat up again between them, nefarious issues come to light that has Emily working clandestinely to help uncover the culprits -issues that may end up sabotaging their growing relationship. Can a workaholic billionaire and a normal, unpretentious young woman have a lasting relationship?
“She was everything I wasn’t looking for.”
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Jameson is a tough nut to crack. He’s got walls built up around him so high that he’s often hard to read. He’s alpha, commanding, and controlling. However, there’s something about Emily with her snarky, sassy ways that challenge him like no woman ever before. She insists on being treated with respect and a certain amount of equality. She’s a woman who knows her worth and won’t settle for anything less. She’s certainly no pushover. I loved that he was stumped by the fact that she’s unimpressed by his position and wealth. Their relationship was fiery, passionate, antagonistic, yet satisfying and fulfilling.
There were some parts of the writing style that jarred a little bit with me, making me wonder if the author wasn’t American, but the overall story was such a great read. The camping episode made me laugh out loud, and I must admit to having a few tears as Jameson and Emily roughed it out through their emotions. Worth a one-click and on to his brother, Tristan’s story.
My first TL Swan book I read. I didn’t want to go with any that belonged to a series in case I didn’t like the style of writing, but omg, this book is everything. Sitting on a flight next to each other, after Emily was upgraded to first class, they have a hot one night stand after the plane got grounded and had an unexpected stopover, after spending a fun filled day together in Boston. They hadn’t had contact for a year when Emily got a new job and met her new CEO. You’ve guessed it, her one night stand! This is not your average boss and his employee romance, there are twists and turns along the way. It’s a thoroughly great read and I highly recommend it.
The Stopover by TL Swan
Okay, there’s so much I want to say about this book but I’ll make it quick-ish.
I love the start and for most part really enjoyed a lot of the banter and off the charts hot chemistry between Emily and Jameson- Jameson Miles is infuriating on a level and I got serious whiplash from his moodiness, and yes Emily wasn’t much better in some ways. Whilst I really enjoyed the first few rounds of fallouts and making up sessions— it became the focal point of their relationship— I was the one walking away, only to come back hoping for them to grow the fudge up!
“But it was the way you kissed me that I remember the most.” My eyes search his. “How did I kiss you?” “Like you’d been waiting your whole life to kiss me.”
TL Swan’s writing was engaging and captivating in equal parts— it was easy to be consumed by her words. I loved Emily’s independence and she really got a backbone and it was nice for Jameson to come down from his Miles-High tower to win her back.
A great start a new series and I’m already so excited about Tristan’s story.
4 Welcome to the Miles-High-Club STARS
I’ve read this after the Takeover. Tristan’s history was SOOOO good that I literally run to buy the first book of the series. I was a bit disappointed because is in no way so great as the second one. It’s a four stars book to me because I like this author and there are great dialogs in it, but the constant fighting was a turn off for me sometimes. They have amazing chemistry together and there are great sex scenes, but they keep arguing all the time and sometimes I felt that I was dealing with teenagers! So if you love this author go for it! But if you don’t know her, you should read the Takeover first and see how good she is and why she is a must read for me!
I really enjoyed this rom-com lol, it was funny, romantic & over the top. It starts just where it states on a stopover. Emily Foster leaving London from a wedding to stopover NYC for a job interview on her way home to California. Because of her feisty nature Emily runs to a drunk customer standing in line at the airport. The drunk passenger threw her bag which cause security to move her to front of line. Thats were Emily’s adventure begins, beginning upgraded to 1st class, which she has never had the chance to ride in before. Emily is seated by a drop dead gorgeous hunk of a passenger name Jim. Jim offers her the window seat. Once Emily tries to ignore the stranger cause she not in the mood to be friendly especially after her dick of an ex invited back seat barbie to wedding they attended. The stranger Jim starts to turns the charm on thick ordering her drink and taking over. Once they started this long journey Emily is now comfortable with Jim and the conversation starts a risky subjects Jim invited Emily to the Miles high club and now wishing they had more time together. Once arriving to NYC there is a snow storm and must have a stopover in Boston. Jim & Emily had the most amazing night ever nothing like they have had with any other person and just like that its over. Emily & Jim fly out on different flights the next day. They didn’t exchange numbers or last names, but Emily gave Jim her scarf to hide a love bite she gave Jim.
After missing her job interview 12 months ago Emily has finally landed her dream job in NYC at Miles Media the number 1 conglomerate media company nation wide as a journalist. Immediately Emily loves her job and her team. Then HR takes Emily on a tour of the building and she meets the owners/CEO of Miles Media when she walks into the office of Jameson Miles CEO. Recognition is immediately being that Jim/Jameson/J has never forgotten that night 12 months ago. Jameson let Emily know he remembers and start to pursue her as his FB (fuck bunny). Jameson is use to getting what he wants and head strong Emily lets him knows she is not impressed with his arrogance & bossiness the sizzle between this characters is amazing, funny of the power play they both want. How Jameson starts to watch Emily through their security cameras and how Emily makes him work for her affection, especially when Jameson is the spoiled billionaire who is use to getting what he wants.
What would be a rom-com without the drama, which this book has plenty. I loved this book it keep you laughing in stitches it was filled with lots of humor, debating, and out right arguments, great sex, lots of compromising, love and heart break. They had amazing characters Emily’s friend Molly had to go get her ex husband because he took too much Viagra and he passed out btw he was going on a date with someone else. Jameson brother Tristian can’t wait to read his story he was an amazing support to Jameson and also Emily. This book was refreshing and funny a must read.
Overall I liked this book. It was laugh out loud funny at times, with a touch of angst, and a good dose of hot and sexy. The characters are great, and I loved the storyline, especially the mystery running through it. However… I thought it was a bit choppy in places and for me it’s a tad too long. But the narration was excellent, and I do recommend it.
TL Swan – The Stopover (The Miles High Club 1)
Sexy. Funny. Lovable.
The story was easy to read and flowed beautifully from start to finish. Its filled with drama and suspense, banter and fluff. We are introduced to Emily and ‘Jim’ as they are seated together in a first class flight. Due to bad weather, they get deferred and stopover in Boston where they decide to spend one explosive night together. The next morning they part ways with no reason to stay in touch. A year later, the heroine moves to a different city and starts a new job, not knowing she is now working for our hero, Jamison Miles.
I loved their easy going relationship. Their chemistry was easy to see from the first time they met . I loved reading their banter and teasing. I loved that the hero was fully involved once he was able to commit. Heroine was strong and didn’t excuse his lifestyle or let him boss her around.
Both main characters are loveable. The heroine is quirky, and down to earth, pulling the hero into her reality, making him more likeable. The hero is an alpha CEO who is constantly stressed. His cold and disattached.
The Stopover is the first instalment in the Miles High club series and can be read as a standalone. Hero has three brothers who featured in the story and will have their own books. Book 2, The Takeover, is Tristian and Claire’s story. Find out why I gave it 5 stars. The Takeover

Rating: 3.5 to 4.0
I have mixed feelings about this book. The romance between Emily and Jameson started during their unplanned stopover in Boston after their flight to New York from London was canceled due to a snowstorm in New York. It was supposed to be a one night stand and they did not expect to see each other again. It would have ended there except a year later, Emily was hired by Miles Media, a large publishing company owned by the Miles family and headed by no other than Jameson himself as its CEO. The on again-off again relationships, if you can call it that, and the story itself made me laugh, hate/love Jameson (for switching his personality from Jim the lover boy to Jameson the obnoxious CEO and back), yell at Emily and blush at some very descriptive steamy scenes.
So why do I have mixed feelings about this book? Because there are some things that just didn’t make sense to me. Why did Lara Aspin (the female villain) sell her laptop computer without erasing its content, not to mention for a measly $100? It seemed to me that T L Swan had to shorten the novel and gave us a quick solution to Jameson’s problem. The author never told us who has been giving/selling “breaking news” to Miles Media’s fiercest competitor. Some might say that it is implied, but that does not satisfy me. Again, Emily was described as an intelligent and strong woman, yet she turned into putty and horny when in the presence of Jameson. Really?
Ooh. Lots of passion and not so much romance, if you get my meaning. When the flight that Emily and Jim are on has an unexpected layover in Boston, they spend one unforgettable night together, one and done so to speak. Fast forward a year and Emily has finally got her dream job working as a reporter for Miles Media, and who does she meet on her first day? Yep, Jim, the CEO! Now being that Emily is a reporter, and has been trying to get a position at Miles Media for several years, you would think she would know a bit about the owners, but hey ho, she had no clue. Herein starts a very tumultuous love/hate relationship. A story with lots of sex and passion, some funny bits, some emotional scenes and added in to the mix is a mystery to solve. Enjoyable and entertaining. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.
As Emily Foster is leaving London to fly back to the states after a wedding, an altercation happens that results in her ticket being upgraded to 1st class. Imagine her surprise when she is seated next to a gorgeous man with perfect, blue eyes, named Jim. All during the flight Emily is having fun flirting with Jim and when their flight is diverted to Boston instead of New York because of weather, they continue the fun up until the next morning. After a night of fun Emily will never forget, they part ways.
One year later, Emily has moved from Los Angeles, CA to New York, NY to start a new job at her dream company, Miles Media. Imagine Emily’s surprise when she is introduced to the company’s CEO, Jameson Miles, and staring back at her are the same perfect, blue eyes she met one year ago! Jameson hasn’t forgotten about Emily and wants to see her. She turns him down wanting to stay professional. Of course this begins their little game of cat and mouse…..and Jameson always ends up getting what he wants.
Just when it looks like Emily and Jameson are headed for a happy ending, things from his past come crashing back in to cause all kinds of problems. It will take a huge leap of faith for Emily and Jameson to get past this big hurdle but it will all be worth it for their perfect happy ending.
I just adored Emily and Jameson. I imagine it would be hard to be a CEO of a huge media company and especially being the oldest son, it adds even more pressure. I think it was refreshing to be just “Jim” when he was with Emily. I really liked Emily. She was smart and didn’t take any crap from Jameson. Together they balanced each other out well. This was a great start to what looks like a fun series.
This was the first TL Swan book that I picked up…ohhhhh myyyyy. I had zero regrets. Once again, I dove into it and ignored the world around me (are we seeing a theme with me? I have issues…) to the point that I had to download the audiobook so I could keep listening at work.
Is it awkward when someone walks up to your desk to talk to you and you have to pause your erotic romance novel mid-sex scene? Uh, yes. Did I regret having to try and focus so I could answer questions from people while blushing furiously? No. I finished the book in less than 2 days.
I think I’ll reread it before the next book in the series comes out later this month. I can’t wait, I’ve got it on pre-order!
One of my all time favorite books
Loved the characters. Really enjoyed this story of Jameson and Emily. Found The Stopover to be an unputdownable rollercoaster of emotions; at times I was laughing and the next minute, screaming at the characters lol. Hope this isn’t a spoiler but the camping trip was hilarious!! Loved this book.
