It was a time when gods walked the earth, when armies fought not for bits of land, but for the very existence of humanity. On such a battlefield, five formidable warriors stood against an evil greater than any the earth had ever seen. But evil is not an honorable foe. Betrayed by someone they trusted, the warriors were cursed, one by one, tossed into the maelstrom of time, imprisoned in stone, … stone, their freedom resting on nearly impossible conditions. Until. . . .
Gabriel Halldor. . . one of the fiercest warriors the world has ever seen, but his tremendous skill can’t save him from a sorcerer’s curse. Trapped in stone and left lying in darkness for thousands of years, he is, at long last, brought into the sunlight of a Japanese garden, where a young girl comes to sit at his feet and read him stories as she grows to womanhood.
Hana Himura. . . beloved granddaughter of a Japanese mob boss, raised to the life of a warrior. When death comes for her grandfather, he sends her to the one guardian courageous enough to protect her from a sorcerer who will stop at nothing to have her.
Raphael. . . the most powerful vampire lord on earth, and the only man who can save Gabriel and Hana from an enemy who would enslave them both.
Running from the certain death that awaits them in Japan, Hana and Gabriel flee to Malibu and the vampire lord her grandfather called friend. Raphael is magic and power combined, and Gabriel and Hana will need both if they’re going to survive long enough to defeat their enemy and light the flame of desire that’s been simmering between them for years.

Book 3 in the Stone Warriors series, Gabriel, is a well written, dynamic adventure with fabulous characters and an edge of your seat storyline. I loved everything about this story and look forward to reading many more books by this author. If you haven’t read D.B Reynolds you are truly missing out!!
A fierce warrior, Gabriel Halldor is trapped in stone and lying in darkness for thousands of years. Raised to the life of a warrior. Hana Himura is sent to the one guardian courageous enough to protect her from a sorcerer. They can only be saved from slavery by the most powerful vampire on earth. This powerful and gripping romance pulls readers in and refuses to let go as Gabriel, Hana and Raphael take on the evil sorcerer who turned Nick’s men to stone with a curse. The story is brings the two series, Vampires in America and Stone Warriors together and as usual with this author, readers are compelled to the pages as they hold on to their seats in anticipation of what thrilling event will take place next. The characters are bold, vivid and the stuff fantasies are made of, Gabriel and Hana have strong, electrical chemistry and passion burns hot throughout the story as they give into the desire that’s been simmering between them for years. The readers easily connect with these characters ensuring that they want to know every last detail of their story while the fast page and smooth flowing plot keeps them glued to the pages with lots of exhilarating action, intriguing suspense and witty dialogue that adds depth to the characters and adds a sense of realism to the story. Nick and Raphael add even more enjoyment to the story with their hot as sin selves and their antagonistic attitude toward each other that causes some very heated discussions while planning on how to keep Hana and Gabriel safe. There is not one moment of boredom to be found in this explosive story that includes some spectacular battles and sizzling romance.
Gabriel is book 3 in the Stone Warriors series. Like Damian and Kato, Gabriel is another one of Nick’s warriors who was cursed and has been trapped in stone. Unlike the first two Gabriel is found by a family who held some magic and could sense something different about the statue. He is then placed in their garden and there is where he will learn about our world. Hanna is part of the family and when she is younger she is shown the warrior whom she eventually falls in love with. I loved this part of the story. I loved how there was something about Gabriel that she claimed him as her own. So when her need was dire she ran to the statue like she was told and at that point is where she breaks the curse. Gabriel is free and holds close a secret that only Nick is aware of and that is the fact that Gabriel is a Vampire. I have to admit this was my favorite part. After escaping danger Hanna begins to see something is wrong with Gabriel. So when she decides to bring him to see a friend of her Grandfather who resides in Malibu I may have jumped up and down like a crazy woman. Not sure why yet? Malibu is where a delicious Vampire Lord resides with his mate, yes the one and only Raphael and Cyn. Crossing over with the VIA series was awesome. I loved how Raphael and his vampires embraced Gabriel and it was also entertaining putting Nick in the same room with them. Overall an awesome addition to this series and I loved the teaser at the end. The next warrior is something that only exist in myths and the next VIA comes to the states from Scotland.
Where to start with this review…..
As a long time fan and reader of D.B. Reynolds books, it is no mystery that she remains one of my all time favourite authors. Vampires in America is a power-packed, dark and dangerous account of the Vampire world and the battles that exist within. But when Ms Reynolds ventured into a spin-off series, I wondered how she would rise to the same level of addictive writing that she had achieved with the VIA series.
GABRIEL is the perfect example of an author who knows her stuff! This is by far my favourite story to date in The Stone Warriors, and while I have thoroughly enjoyed the previous two novels, the fact that this one crosses over so brilliant with the VIA series is definitely a huge plus. Without divulging the storyline or leaking spoilers, I will simple say that we all know how much Nick dislikes Raphael? Well this story is going to put that feud to the ultimate test, and require Can to do some serious refereeing.
Magnificent world building, an ingenious plot and a wealth of known and new characters make this a truly enthralling story and fabulous addition to The Stone Warrior series.
The latest in D.B. Reynolds’ Storne Warriors series is an exciting crossover between the men cursed by an evil sorcerer to spend millennia trapped in stone and our favorite vampire couple from Vampires in America.
When young Hana Himura – granddaughter of Japanese mobster – first saw Gabriel Halldor, he was trapped in his stone prison. That didn’t stop her from admiring him while sitting at his feet to read to him.
Knowing she was gifted and that a powerful sorcerer wanted to imprison Hana, her grandfather raised her as a warrior. When he can no longer protect her, he sends Hana to Gabriel. But their enemy is far too powerful for them to defeat alone, and so they seek the help of the most powerful vampire lord on earth.
Once Gabriel in freed from his stone confinement, the attraction that had been growing between him an Hana is easily ignited. He tries to fight it for various reasons, but she’s a woman who knows what she wants, and she wants her Stone Warrior.
Chapters of hostile intrigue are filled with tangible suspense and danger, while the steamier parts – which include the main couple but are not limited to them – sizzle and scorch the pages. Gabriel is every bit as possessive and caring as Hana, who was his perfect match. I loved the twist involving Gabriel’s development and how Hana supported him.
The plot was ingenious and well fleshed out. Vampires in America fans will surely love Raphael and Cyn’s involvement in this well-paced, exciting paranormal romantic suspense which I think would make a big screen hit not only because of its engaging story but the rich imagery the author provides.
As with the previous books, we catch up with the other couples as well as Nick Katsaros, who is now seeing the benefits of having a loving partner at his side. I can’t wait for the series’ next installment!
Gabriel is book #3 of the Stone Warriors series by D.B. Reynolds. It is a standalone, full-length paranormal romance. Told from several points of view with a happy ending for the couple and a preview of the next book.
My Thoughts – 5 out of 5 Unicorns – I loved it!!
***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I received a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!
The cover is beautiful and matches the series well!
This is the 3rd book in this series, but it also overlaps in the Vampires in America series because my favorite couple Raphael and Cyn are also in this book. This is for adults only due to the vampire violence and steamy content. I do highly recommend reading both series in the order intended to get all the glorious details and become so wrapped up in this world that you want more!
This book is Gabriel and Hana’s story! As always in D.B.’s books, it is full of action, trouble, and passion. Hana has a unique gift that has the evil sorcerer after her. Hana has always loved Gabriel as he has loved her. They are both running to stay ahead of trouble, but Hana knows they need help. She turns to Raphael who knew her grandfather for help. There are battles, injuries, trouble, and more. I couldn’t put it down until I finished it.
I highly recommend to any paranormal fans who love passionate vampires, magic, curses, and more!!!
This was a fabulous addition to “The Stone Warriors” Series. Hana is the granddaughter of a Japanese mob boss that has been raised like a warrior. Gabriel is a warrior that has been trapped in stone for over a thousand years. He was placed in the Japanese garden of Hana’s grandfather where he watched Hana grow into adulthood. When Hana’s grandfather’s house is attacked Hana runs to the garden and Gabriel is freed. Needing someone powerful to help them they escape to America to seek the help of Raphael the Vampire Lord of the Western Territories. I really enjoyed this book. It was well written with an engaging storyline and interesting characters. Hana and Gabriel were likable and had great chemistry. I loved that we got quite a bit of Raphael and Cyn in this story. We also get to visit with Nik, Damian and Kato. This is definitely a must read for anyone who enjoys reading about magic, warlocks and vampires. Highly recommend.
I received an advanced readers copy of this book via Net Gallery and am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
