LUST PLAGUE
Saving the world should be easier.
When airship captain Kaysana meets Sten, the last thing she wants is to have mad rough sex with him while restrained by ropes and clamps but fate pencils in their appointment. The lust plague strikes. From her infected crew, zombies arise.
With her ship gone, she must rely on Sten, a human clone, a man who has fought all his life to master himself. She despises his kind and detests Sten’s growing hold on her. Though he never takes no for an answer, surely it’s the plague that makes yes slip from her tongue like melted butter? Or should she blame her own traitorous heart?
Sten and Kaysana unlimber weapons, don goggles, and set a course for the origin of the plague. Yet their victory will be hollow if they cannot also solve the puzzle of their hearts.

I loved all 3 só much, each story was wonderful! Thank you,Cari! Thank you for this treasure!
I have completed two of the three books in this collection – Absolutely riveting collection
Iron Dominance
Where do I start-
Claire is a frankenstruct – a being with a heart and soul yet deemed by the world as nothing more than a piece of property – treated as though void of emotion, sensations or even the ability to have independent thought
This is so far from the truth
Claire is a delicate blend of sugar and spice – decadence and defiance – softness and strength –
She is submissive but in her heart not subservient
All she has ever wanted was to be acknowledged as an equal – as someone who felt love and loss – to be treated as a peer and not a piece of property – To be seen and acknowledged for who she truly is
On route to a mission -incidents beyond anyone’s control drops Claire into the custody of Theo – A fair but very demanding master
Unsure of her situation Claire is torn between the dominant and loving man who holds her body and soul hostage and the edict that demands she follows her previous master Inline’s orders
Can she trust Theo with her secrets or will he terminate her believing that she is the monster they claim her to be?
Lust Plague –
Wow this was such a uniquely different story
Kay is one of the few female commanders and this has forced her to develop a bit of a “hard” exterior shell
She like most of the humans have an aversion to the frankenstructs – they are merely mindless and uncontrollable creatures- that is until Sven –
after her ship is overtaken by the virus and Kay is left in a very vulnerable position Sven steps in and saves her only to decide he wants a taste – Despite her hatred for his kind Kay finds herself craving his touch – is it just the plaque causing these emotions or is there more? Can she trust Sven to help her save the planet or will her lust induced haze leave her nothing more than a puppet to her base desires?
If you are looking for an edge of your seat – soul-wrenching- heart-pounding read that will tease and torment your every emotion then look no further
This story is filled with all the things that make it an 18+ read
you know sex and violence and kinky play – the good stuff
I loved her work in Alien Alphas so when I was offered a complimentary copy of this book I jumped on it – and after reading it I preordered the series
Iron Dominance,
The first book in the SteamWork Chronicles. it is an erotic Steampunk book. I enjoyed the Steampunk elements, specially the clothes and how they were used. And that scene in the airship, very hot.
I would have liked a bit more details of the world and the characters. Claire is a frankenstruct, but not much is told about them and their history. And I had trouble seeing a real connection between Claire and Theo.
Steel Dominance
The third book in the series, but all books can be read as a standalone.
I enjoyed the characters in this book. Sophia was smart, a little sassy and also a bit sad, but she loved fiercely. Her ability to solves puzzles was amazing to read.
My favorite character was Zigzag, he was quite the personality.
I liked Dankyo when I read about him in the first book and was happy to see him again and get his own story. He was able to be himself with Sophia and I enjoyed his protectiveness towards her.
I would have liked a bit more worldbuilding and background into this story also.
Cari Silverwood’s steampunk alternative reality trilogy is riveting, erotic, and incredibly breathtaking!
This is a three-book trilogy made up of the books Iron Dominance, Lust Plague, and Steel Dominance. Each may be read as a standalone; however, I strongly suggest they be read in order to maximize the reading experience.
Iron Dominance
The world’s always an uncertain place. Nothing’s guaranteed. But, for Claire, life’s always been a struggle for mere survival. A frankenstruct, a being assembled from cloned bits and pieces into a living being, she’s hated, reviled, and exists in a horrifying half-life. She’s but a tool, a weapon, a slave. When the PME sends her and her commander, Inkline, on a mission to the Hellene Nation, it could just end her. But fate has other plans. As the airship in which Claire, Inkline, and their crew travel is blown out of the sky, Claire somehow survives. She’s suddenly free. But, for a frankenstruct, is there true freedom? She’s subject to death by euthanasia, even in the Hellene Nation. There appears to be no escape. Enter Theo Kevonis, owner of the estate on which her ship crashes, high-ranking politician of the Hellene Nation. Theo’s increasingly taken by the beautiful, intelligent, and very mysterious frankenstruct. And Theo makes no secret of his feelings about the laws against frankenstructs. But, unknown to Theo, Claire has a mission to fulfill, and she may just be his downfall. But Claire’s not immune to Theo. His kindness and attention drive her nearly to madness. Is there attraction between the two? Oh, yes! Off-the-charts chemistry? Absolutely! But there’s so much distrust, so many unknowns. Claire can’t tell Theo the truth. Theo knows Claire’s much more than she appears. And Theo’s right hand man, Dankyo, doesn’t trust Claire a single centimeter. Despite the obstacles, Claire and Theo move closer, begin to form a delicate thread of trust. But as they struggle with the ever-growing barriers in their paths, Claire’s past returns with a vengeance. Is her newfound life a mere charade? To save those who’ve saved her in so many ways, she’ll have to sacrifice herself and every dream she’s ever had. Can she do it? Her freedom means so much to her. But her obligations are clear. To survive, she’ll have to destroy everyone and everything she holds dear. The consequences will raze her world to the ground, leaving ashes in their wake. Is there a way out? In the end, can anything make a difference? Or is she doomed by her past, her mission, and her very nature?
Lust Plague
Airship Captain Kaysana Onomi’s the consummate professional. It’s all she’s known, all she wants. Driven? A total understatement! Her crew stands in fear and awe of her. But the world’s falling apart in tatters. The Lust Plague, a/k/a Zombie-F, rampages. How do you deal with an epidemic that spreads like wildfire, turns the infected into sex-crazed fiends, kills, then reanimates? Then there are the Raised Men, ŭber-zombies, who are nearly indestructible. There’s no cure. No one even knows how it’s transmitted! When Zombie-F inevitably hits The Art of War, Kaysana’s airship, she’s saved by the one person she despises and fears. Sten’s a frankenstruct, an amalgam of cloned parts strung together to appear human. Kaysana’s disgusted by any frankenstruct but most especially Sten. Why? It soon becomes apparent when they escape. Sten’s no ordinary frankenstruct. Created to be the epitome of everything the frankenstruct program stands for, he’s survived the unimaginable, watched his friends systematically destroyed one by one. His very survival depends on his ability to calm his inner beast. Both Kaysana and Sten are soon infected with Zombie-F, and the consequences will change their lives forever. Sten’s been drawn to Kaysana since he first laid eyes on her. He knows he has no chance with her for the long term. When circumstances force them together, Sten takes the upper hand, much to Kaysana’s horror. But she soon learns she has no choice. As the plague inevitably takes its toll on both, information comes to light. A miniscule chance of saving the world exists. But to attempt it? Sheer suicide! Can Sten and Kaysana even consider this? When help appears from the most unlikely of sources, Kaysana and Sten make a fateful decision. Even in their lust-addled states, they have to try. There are no guarantees. The odds are stacked against them in every way. Can a bigoted, inflexible ship’s captain dig deep enough to find her true self? Is it possible for a frankenstruct to show this woman what humanity truly is? If not, it’s not just their lives at stake. The entire world may fall into the abyss of ultimate insanity!
Steel Dominance
Intrigue and uncertainty are two things with which Dankyo’s very familiar. A former military man and long-time head of security for Theo Kevonis, threats, conspiracies, and danger are constant companions. Not much rattles Dankyo. But escorting a willful, beautiful genius on a mission to Byzantium just might be his undoing. Sofia White finally has the chance to study the Clockwork Warrior up close and personal. The one catch? She has to pretend to be a slave, part of the emperor-bey’s harem, to gain access to the famous Warrior. Piece of cake, right? Umm…NO! When she and Dankyo meet, it’s the proverbial immovable object slamming up against the irresistible force. But these two have no choice. Somehow they have to work together. Only they have absolutely no concept of what they’re up against. It’s hard enough for feisty, defiant Sofia to learn her place as a slave in the harem. For Dankyo, the increasing forces pulling him inexorably toward Sofia’s underlying submissiveness are a double-edged sword. Against the backdrop of palace intrigue, ever-changing loyalties, unknown agendas, and the ultimate mystery of the Clockwork Warrior, both Sofia and Dankyo’s lives are about to be changed in ways they could never have foreseen. When reality finally shows its ugly face, Dankyo and Sofia face betrayal unlike anything they could have imagined. Does the Clockwork Warrior hold the answers? Is Sofia truly the only one who can solve this puzzle? How can a piece of incredibly beautiful, intricately formed piece of clockwork machinery change anything? What of Dankyo and the burgeoning dominant/submissive roles between him and Sofia? With unstoppable forces arrayed against them, solving the puzzle, much less surviving at all, becomes less and less likely. In the end, just what are Dankyo and Sofia willing to sacrifice? Is it possible the Clockwork Warrior can be their salvation? When help seems to appear from the least likely ally, can that help be trusted? Ultimately, the only thing that will make any difference is trust. But is that even possible? If Dankyo and Sofia can’t find that trust, their lives, their very worlds, will explode in a firestorm that could destroy everyone and everything around them!
These books are spectacular, erotic, and sometimes dark steampunk stories set in an alternative reality. This is Ms. Silverwood’s forte, as she’s demonstrated over and over. She’s always incredibly versatile in her creation of worlds that are both foreign and yet simultaneously familiar. Predictable? Absolutely not! I was captivated the moment I started reading. The characters in all these books are outstanding. In Iron Dominance, Claire has so many secrets. Despite the manner in which she was created and what she’s endured, she’s the most compellingly human character in the story. Theo’s irresistibly drawn to her despite her dangerous nature and deeply held secrets. The ultimate conflict between these two should make them mortal enemies. Yet Ms. Silverwood holds the reader enthralled with these two. And the supporting characters? Dankyo, Kirsten, June, and Henry absolutely complete this story. And Lust Plague? For me to actually read, must less love, a book that features zombies is unheard of! But, that’s just how good Ms. Silverwood is as an author! Kaysana is mercurial, bigoted, duty-driven, and ultimately, the very definition of human adaptability. Sten? He’s a study in extremes…full of rage, desolate over his past, no hope for his future. Yet he has the ability to maintain calm, peace, and integrity. Of the two, he’s the most compellingly human. Is it just the plague that irresistibly draws these two to each other? (Nope, not answering that one. You’ll have to read the book!) The conflict between these two should, again, make them mortal enemies. In many ways, they are. But Ms. Silverwood throws all expectations out the window and captures you in totally unexpected ways. You’ll keep guessing right up to the last word. And the story wouldn’t be complete without Emily, Cadrach, and even the little frankenstruct bird. Finally, Steel Dominance shines with the beauty and complexity of dominance and submission, the riveting mystery, suspense, and court intrigue. Steel Dominance is the culmination of this trilogy and won my heart in every way! Dankyo’s unyielding and the ultimate dominant. Sofia’s independent but bewildered, unable to comprehend the allure of dominance and submission. The completely opposite natures of these two put them at odds. The intrigues, ever-changing loyalties, and lack of trust make this story as unpredictable as they come. Ms. Silverwood again pulls you into the most improbable situations and throws conventionality to the wind. The supporting characters are divine! Henry, Tansu, the emperor-bey, and especially Xiang, add so much character. They’re as integral as Dankyo and Sofia. Ms. Silverwood has a way of taking what you expect, turning it completely upside down, and throwing in totally unexpected events that will turn everything you expect topsy-turvy! I can’t give The Steamwork Chronicles anything less than five stars! Thank you, Cari Silverwood, for creating another mind-blowing, magical reading experience.
Thanks for reading my review and happy reading!
