This book is about a woman who inherits a cottage in a small town from her grandmother. While trying to fix up the place, she discovers some letters written by a long lost great aunt to her boyfriend. The boyfriend is an artist and so is his grandson. Neither one wants to deal with the woman. The townspeople don’t want to deal with her. One of them knows her great aunt and conspires to keep it from her.
An unusual “happily ever after story.” The characters are genuine and the plot is interesting and makes the readers anxious to know the ending but needing to read every word and not spoil the story by jumping to the end. I loved the story line and characters so much that I am reading the entire series.
The mystery and romance was not particularly compelling, but it was an OK read. Nice that the romance didn’t result in a bunch of sex scenes! Easily could stop reading at the end of this book, even though there are more in the series – author did not leave you hanging.
Couldn’t get into it – too hard to sort out the characters and figure out what might have happened in their past to put them where they were when the story starts.
Sometimes all one needs to discover oneself is a nagging mystery that must be solved.
After attending her Grandmother’s funeral in rural Victoria, Christie uncovers some hidden letters and much much more.
With flashbacks to the 1960’s, this very moving story is about lies, secrets, betrayal and above all, an enduring love.
I loved the story, which moved me to tears on more than one occasion, and am looking forward to reading more in this fabulous series.
What a beautifully romantic story. The characters were wonderful and I look forward to reading more.
This book was amazing from start to finish. The story was intriguing and the characters well written. I would highly recommend this book
It was an easy read and most interesting with a little mystery.
Loved this book- a great read that cannot be put down!!!!!!!
Loved this book. It’s romance, mystery and family saga with engaging characters and an interesting setting.
page turner
This read like a Hallmark movie. It was a fast read, with a predictable ending, but nonetheless enjoyable.
I loved this romantic suspense mystery by Phillipa Nefri Clark. This is the first book by her that I have read and it won’t be my last. I was pulled into the story at the beginning and with the HEA ending I was hooked and want to read more of her books. Christie, the main character, inherits a small cottage in River’s End when her grandmother dies. She was also left with a mystery to solve about a great aunt she had never met. It was a mystery about love and betrayal and many wasted years. In trying to solve the mystery, Christie finds her true love also. The ending is perfect. I highly recommend this book.
Sweet story about love and loss.
This book was amazing!! I absolutely loved this book!! A real page turner, I could not out it down. The characters and the story were amazing. I would recommend this book to everyone!!
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. When it ended I wanted to know the “rest of the story” of the characters so much that I purchased the next book in the series.
I liked this so well, I am going on and read Jasmine Sea also!! I was not ready for it to end!
I couldn’t wait to find out the secrets. I liked that I kept guessing. I especially liked the line, “that lovely person inside” even if we have flaws. Great love story.
Covers several generations. Romantic without being too sentimental.
