I loved the way it ended 2 people who loved each other kept apart finally get together the granddaughter finally sees the character of her fiancé A wonderful ending
This is a wonderful book. I loved the characters and story. I highly recommend reading this book.
THE STATIONMASTER’S COTTAGE is a standalone read with a very happy ever after. There are no sex scenes or rough language and any age can read and enjoy. It is truly a good story that holds your attention all the way through. I loved it. My kind of story. There is a great love story, there is sorrow and sadness. There are relatives that were totally unknown, there was redemption and one young woman learned to stand up for herself and quit trying to please persons that want to change who she is.
The story is set in River’s End, Australia. It is a very small community and they want to keep it that a way. 2016 Christi receives word her grandmother has passed and she is requested to be at the funeral. There were not close but her grandmother did raise her after her parents were killed. She was a hard woman and not easy to love. Christi goes and discovers she has been left a rather neglected cottage that sits on the cliff overlooking the beach and ocean. There is a letter that tells her there are secrets in the house, she is to find them and deliver them to her sister, Martha. Christi had never heard of Martha and has no idea how to find her. She starts to search the house and in the attic she finds a small box with a lock on it.
In the letters you go back to 1967 and start to learn how the secrets began. The letters will tell the story.
This is the key to all the secrets and why she is the one to handle this last request. This is a great story. It is long and I’m not going to tell the whole story but it is way worth your time to read. I love a family with deep dark secrets and this family has them. A very entertaining read and I certainly recommend it.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 6/4/2020
This is one terrific romance, even if the back story is full of lies and cruelty. Martha is in love with Thomas, back in 1967-68, but Dorothy (Martha’s sister) doesn’t like Thomas and does what she can to break their love. None of this comes to light for fifty years until after Dorothy dies, and her granddaughter Christie inherits a cottage. Christie discovers bits and pieces – an engagement and wedding set, a stack of unopened letters, a painting of the local jetty and ocean. But Christie is persistent, following clues until she connects the hints from the past. The story is well written, with just enough pathos and just enough joy.
Just loved this book, the characters were all fascinating and I did not figure it out. I read it in a day, every chance I got I was reading this book.
This is the first book in the series. This book sets the tone for the series and has some great twists and some mystery to keep you entertained. I really liked getting to know the characters and decided to continue in the series after reading this one.
Even though this was kind of predictable I loved it. It has very diverse and interesting characters. I would recommend.
Loved it!
Great book. Great characters.
Great story. Kept my interest. Couldn’t put the book down
This was a quick moving story that engaged me and kept me speeding through the pages in an attempt to help the characters get to the truth of the matter!
When your grandmother dies and hands you a mystery what do you do with it? This was such a good read from beginning to end. The descriptions are vivid and you feel like you are there. Every character makes you smile, sometimes laugh, and definitely annoys you at times they are so real. I am excited to read the next stories!
Once I got used to the English cadence, I read this and went on to read 2 more by this author!
This was a good read. I liked the characters and the storyline. It includes three generations in its telling. There were a few surprises that I didn’t guess. A love-hate relationship makes the story intriguing.
I really enjoyed the book

Very interesting storyline. Loved the characters.
Likable characters. I could relate to them. Good clues to mystery but very curious why someone would interfere in another’s life to this extent. A good read.
Enjoyed the story.
I enjoy British historical novels and therefore enjoyed this one. It wasn’t totally original but a bit of a page turner none-the-less.
This was an engaging delightful book. It is the type of book that is hard to put down and then, at the end, you are sorry it is over.
