The Spinster is the prequel to the Forbidden Love Novella Series. We are going to meet Charles and Robert Dashwood before they meet their wives! (Oh, this notorious Norwood!)more
Three childhood friends are torn apart by Tragedy and guilt. Collin leaves England with the intention of never returning, however, his love for Joanna brings him back home only to find she is engaged.
The author has a gift for bringing out strong emotions in her stories. If you haven’t read her books I strongly suggest you treat yourself. There are lessons, wisdom and experiences that many readers can relate to and in the end you will smile. The
With sorrow dogging her footsteps from a tragic event four years previously, Johanna Grey returns home from finishing school for her first season. Under the disapproving eye of her mother and disinterest from her father, Johanna’s only real ally is her sweet and feisty grandmother. Determined to marry for love, Johanna quickly realises that her dream is, in fact, a fantasy and as with her first betrothal, so sadly ended, she may just have to settle for friendship instead. When the third leg of her childhood friendship unexpectedly reappears on the scene, Johanna knows that love is possible, but it is too late to follow her heart. Colin Grenville has loved Johanna since he was a boy but the same tragedy causes him to run to the Continent, where he tried to bury his sorrow in exploring the world of art. When he hears that Johanna is having her first season, he immediately returns home, knowing that it may be his only chance at happiness. Spinster is a sweet and clean Regency romance with melancholic undertones. It is well-written and unless one has lived through similar loss where sorrow and guilt dig their claws into one’s soul, the extent of Johanna’s feelings may seem a little extreme. Nevertheless, the story is a standalone and with the help of her mischievous grandmother, comes to a happy and successful conclusion. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
love Bree Wolf’s books! The newest one is part of a series by different authors. I have not read the other books in the series and would say that it is not necessary to do so to enjoy The Spinster.
Joanna has hopes for a future but also feels cursed. She must overcome feelings of guilt to find her true love and happily ever after. The characters are relatable and interesting. I would definitely recommend this book. And I now plan to read the other books in the series.

I received this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review
Wonderful!
This is a story about two very troubled young adults who were once part of a very close group of three young children who grew up together.
Then ‘life happened’ and then there were two left who had to battle their own insecurities and guilts in order to survive away from each other because of familial orders.
Four years later they meet again and now they have a second chance with each other and what they do with this is what the main part of the story is about.
It is emotional and so well written, with such interesting characters, that I felt as if I was inside the story, watching it happen and that is what I loved about this particular book. It was also so easy to read and follow.
I am very happy to recommend it to you and am eager to read the rest this series which is written by a variety of authors.
I requested and read an Advance Reader’s copy and this is my voluntary and unbiased review of it.
This book is a fun read. Its characters are loving , yet have their flaws. Great friendships and powerful love.
What a wonderful story! So tragic in one way, but so .. how do I call that.. destined?! Jo has to face such horrors in loosing to people she deeply cares about that she thinks herself cursed and is afraid to harm his one-true-love, the man she adores since her childhood. But Colin is a great match for her, and finds his way back to her! Since it is also the prequel to the Forbidden Love Novella Series, we get to meet Robert and Charles again, or shall I say “before”?! I love Robert!
Oh my gosh so many emotions reading this story. The characters grab onto your heart and don’t let go. I was so excited for Brendan and Johanna and yet sad at the same time, especially when she admitted her feelings, after talking them through with her school friends Penelope & Caroline.
Colin a great friend since childhood who lives with a sadness from a friends death left England after being blamed for his friends death, only to return 4 years and 10 minutes too late..
Will Jo (Johanna) ever find happiness or is she truly cursed?
I am so looking forward to another story by this author!
