I enjoyed this story very much,
A story about two people who don’t have a lot in common are brought together by a baby and eventually find love
Good book good reading. Enjoyed it.
Enjoyed the characters and plot very much.
Honey you don’t have to settle
Jack is an ass. He doesn’t compromise or even consider anyone else’s opinion. He deserves to be alone. She sees the good in people and is a doormat, but she’s a cool person. His realistic family was not what I expected. I expected the Hollywood version of an addict and abuser. And no mistake his father is abusive. The manic/depressive symptoms that signal hard drug use and the relapse issue is something most books don’t touch. But the truth is Louisa deserved someone better than a Mr. Higgins singing, ” I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face.” Ms. Tyler tried to give him a grand gesture twice and both times Louisa took pity on him. I’m sorry but she should have said no. He should have been made to understand that he was wrong. No matter how your partner approaches something, you never get to tell them that it isn’t any of their business.
You thank goodness someone cares because most people don’t. Most people don’t care about how you are handling life or any of your emotional baggage. Someone willing to put your future happiness over their current comfort deserves better than Jack.
Loved the book.
A different take on people whose life didn’t turn out as expected. Enjoyed the complexity of the characters.
07/05/2021 “The Special Delivery” (nook) is a short, sweet story about enemies to lovers. Jack and Louisa, who have known each other for years and years, are brought together by his baby niece. Enjoyable quick read.
Not enough depth. Too sappy ending.
Absolutely loved this sweet, sweet story. So enjoyable.
Jack the capable policeman is totally unable to cope with his sister’s baby dumped on him when she is in prison. Louisa is getting by making pizza, but has decided it is time to move on. Her “lat” delivery is to Jack. Seeing the mess that is his house, when she knows his pulled together professionalism pulls Louisa in. Their discovery of each other, aided and abetted by their friends in the small town is a treat.
Applebottom is a very small town. Jack Stone is the town sheriff and was dealing with a newborn little girl his sister birthed while in prison. He is in over his head and has run out of everything literally~ Louisa is also a town native who missed out on having a husband and children because she was too busy caring for her ill parents. She made pizzas and deliveries to substitute income. She is delivering her last pizza to Jack when she spies how much trouble he is in. She offers to help and becomes the nanny. He will have to reacquaint himself with his family, make some hard decisions about them, fend off his feelings that continue to grow for his nanny, and do his job~ Meanwhile, Louisa will have to fend off the town gossips, take care of the baby, meddle in Jack’s life, and try desperately to deal with her feelings for Jack. What will end up happening in the middle of the war that is his family?
This was one great read because the storyline was so different. The author took the storyline and ran with it and made a great HFA. I love it. Good read!!
tough start with both main characters so socially awkward but did end on happier note
In the story she is in her 40s from caring for her parents her whole adult life. Cover doesn’t look like that.
It is a fun story. She is finally going to get to live her life for herself. But, she has a last pizza to deliver before… and she has to deliver it to the guy she badly pranked in high school. Now she will save him.
The premise of this book is sweet. The execution of it fell flat. They had zero chemistry. I don’t understand his actions at all. It ends happily, but not quite sure how they got there.
A clean wholesome story. Not bad
A Very Sweet Story
The Special Delivery by Abby Tyler is a sweet romance.A fun plot line, believable three dimensional characters, and the joys and difficulties a newborn brings make this short read an enjoyable one.
This is such a lovely sweet story. I could see the scenes playing out in my head and I could feel their pain!!!! The characters are so well written they were fully formed in my head. I loved watching them as they danced around each other and then started to move forwards. A totally enjoyable book.
