Buried secrets never stay hidden in the South.Savannah I’m the one who broke up the golden couple. The woman people still whisper about, point at, and give dirty looks to. Did I sleep with the prom king? No. Did I sleep with the town’s golden boy on vacation from college? Yes. Did I believe that he was going to marry me? Wholeheartedly. Did he? Not even close. He got engaged right in front of me … close. He got engaged right in front of me and then his father threw two hundred dollars at me and told me to take the trash out.
So, I raised my son in a town where people love him because they think that his father is the sheriff.
It was going great, everything was working out till my lie got out.
Beau
I was getting ready to take over the mayoral office from my father, who was my hero.
Until I heard the secret he hoped would stay buried forever.
My brother has a son, not just any son but a son with the woman who was my best friend.
The woman I secretly have loved from the moment she stood up to me and broke my nose in kindergarten.
I need to protect her and in order to do that, we need to get married.
Too bad her nightmare is my dream come true.

So I will preface this by saying I was not sure I would like this book. I have not liked Savannah since we met her in Kallie and Jacob’s book. It wasn’t so much her actions that led to Kallie taking off as much as it was her behavior when Kallie came back. It was going to be quite the job to make me like her, I read the book because I love this series and I love Beau. I shouldn’t be surprised that I come away from this book liking Savannah, now I still have a problem with the way she treated Kallie and Jacob when Kallie came home, but I did end up liking her. I shouldn’t be surprised this isn’t the first time Natasha Madison has created a not so nice character and then redeemed them later on in their in book, remember Max?
It is very obvious from the beginning that Savannah and Beau are soul mates. I find it really hard to believe that neither of them realized the other felt the same.
I have absolutely loved this series and I cannot wait to read Ethan’s story. I know it is going to be an emotional one for sure.
**I was generously provided with an advanced readers copy of this book in exchange for my fair and honest review**
Southern Storm is book three in the series and is Savannah and Beau’s book. It’s angsty, emotional, and a beautiful read. I loved it. I really loved Beau, he was swoony and just a really great man. Savannah, I wasn’t really a fan of her in the previous books but now I love her! Beau and Savannah are just perfect together!
Southern Storm is book three in the Southern Series and even though these books are all interconnected, we have switched the focus to Savannah and Liam’s story. This book picks up right where the previous one left off with a bomb of information dropped in Liams lap.
This is a friends to lovers story that you don’t want to miss. It is filled with memorable characters and a storyline that combines family, friends and love with the added drama of secrets and suspense.
Savannah and Liam have both loved the other for a long time but risking a beautiful long standing friendship was something that neither of them were willing to do, until now!
Savannah has had more thrown at her from the people of this small town than anyone person should have to put up with. Now, the hate has escalated even more Liam is going to do everything he can to protect the woman he has always loved!
I am loving this series, but wait because it’s not finished because not everyone knows all the secrets! I am excited for the next book and I hope you are too!
For almost a decade now, Savannah Harrison has been labeled as the town whore. Growing up on the “wrong side of the tracks” with a light skirt mother, then having a child out of wedlock from a pregnancy that broke up the town’s golden couple, she’s used to being sneered at and whispered about, but when her best friend finds out the secret she’s kept hidden for the past eight years, it will shock the foundation of the world as she knows it.
Beau Huntington’s life is changing real fast now that he’s the new Mayor and finding out Savannah’s secret has only come to show he can’t see eye to eye with the rest of his family.
This is the third book in the Southern series. A friends to lovers story with a backdrop of heavy family drama that makes for a good read.
I liked Beau and Savannah’s backstory and chemistry and really enjoyed some of the twists to their story that were quite unexpected. On the down side, I figured out who the author of their grievances was early on and not the intellectual one which was more than obvious. Still, it’s a good story and I can’t wait to read the next book of the series.
3.5 stars
I have to admit i was in two minds before i started this book, i still wasnt completely keen on Savannah, but after reading this i honestly feel bad that i didn’t give her a chance.
I spent the majority of this book kind of angry, like i can’t believe the crap that Savannah gets.
I absolutely loved Beau though, i knew i would but him with Savannah is a totally different kind of love.
Them two was made for each other.
I’m looking forward to the next book! I love their little family.
Each book in the series gets better and better, Natasha, this series is one of the best I’ve read in a long time! 5 stars for this one!
In this book we get Savannah’s story, we learn why she made the choices she did, and exactly how much those choices cost her. But she’s always had Beau by her side. When he finds out exactly who fathered her son, he battles his father and family head on to protect Savannah & Ethan. Read along as their story unfolds and see the love these two have for each other. You will not be disappointed! And you need to read books 1 & 2 if you haven’t, this series, each book has twists and turns, I couldn’t put it down! Don’t miss out grab these books asap!
5 Star review of Southern Storm (Southern Series #3) by Natasha Madison
The third book in this inter connected series and was just as intriguing and addictive as the first two books. I love small town romance, it has become one of my favourite genres to read over the last couple of years.
Although, not absolutely necessary I feel it would be beneficial to read them in order.
I wasn’t too keen on Savannah when she was introduced in Southern Comfort. However such is the strength of Natasha Madison’s writing, she soon managed to change my mind.
Not everything is as it seems and life has not been easy for Savannah, in fact my heart broke for her at times. I am amazed by her strength and the resilience she has shown.
Although Beau and Savannah were best friends, Beau has always had feelings for her. As secrets that have long been buried surface, family and relationships will change.
Will Beau be prepared to fight for what he wants? The road to happiness will not be easy for Savannah and Beau, but if they survive the journey, it will be well worth it.
There is suspense, angst, drama, humour and romance within the pages is so well written that I was fully captivated from the first to the last chapter as Ms.Madison wove her story.
I was so excited to read about Savannah and Beau, especially after the small cliffhanger at the end of Southern Comfort. Glad we didn’t have to wait too long.
This was such an amazing story, of love, longing, suspense and every emotion you can think of. Southern Storm hits it out of the park, Savannah and Beau, might just be my favorite couple in this series. I wanted to hate her, but I just couldn’t, I can’t even imagine what it would be like to be the town pariah, and Beau, the town hero, what’s not to love about him. This book totally consumed me from the start until the last page, and boy is the ending a doozy.
I love a small town romance, each one of these stories has a totally different element to the book. Also, I love when you can still read about all the characters from the previous books. I can’t wait to read Ethan’s story
Natasha Madison is the absolute queen of redeeming characters you don’t think you could ever like. She’s done it again with Savannah in this story. After spending the first two books hating her, I found myself rooting for her very early on in this book. Beau is an absolute swoon worthy hero.
I have been waiting for this one. We began in Southern Chance with the story of Jacob and Kallie and all that transpired with Savannah. We didn’t like Savannah in that book, well I didn’t. We got the gist of the drama that went on with Savannah and Jacob, and of course, Jacob came out noble and generous. Well deserved attributes that he should have. Savannah did not. She wasn’t evil or mean, but just not very likable. And there was Beau, he’s another protector from that town and fits right in with Jacob and Kallie’s brother Casey from Southern Comfort.
Now, the story that began all those years ago is finally playing out to its resolution. Beau is elected Mayor, taking over the position his father has held for many years. I’m not going to go much into about Beau’s family other than they are a Tennessee Williams’ play personified, and well spoilers. What we discover at the end of Southern Comfort, is the secret Jacob and Savannah have kept all these years about who is the father of Ethan is. The truth coming out ignites the smoldering feelings that Beau and Savannah have been tamping down for years. It also puts into motion forces that will test Beau and Savannah in every way.
As in the previous books, Natasha manages to interweave some suspense with the romance that only adds to the great storytelling. Southern Storm is a slow burn. By a slow burn, I mean, the slow burn has been going on between Beau and Savannah for at least a decade. By a slow burn, I mean, when they finally admit to loving one another, it is not only hotly passionate but so sweet it brings tears to your eyes. Beau Huntington is one of the most loving most romantic men I’ve read in a while. Natasha can write the steam, oh yes, but she can write the sweet like nobody’s business. Southern Storm is no exception. This series and the storylines have been a pleasure to read get attached to the characters. We’ve watched Ethan grow, and now we are going to get his story in the final book. I am sure Jacob and Kallie and Beau and Savannah have been great parents, but secrets eventually come out. Now I have Southern Sunrise’s release to anticipate. These books need to be read and savored in order just like a big ole’ southern meal; slowly.
Beau Huntington has looked up to his dad his whole life and is eager to follow in his footsteps becoming the new Mayor but everything changes when he discovers a secret that everyone has kept hidden from him.
Savannah Harrison’s not very popular in town since she broke up the town’s golden couple and gave birth to a little boy named Ethan who has been raised by Jacob, the town sheriff. Yet everything changes when Beau discovers that Ethan’s father is actually his brother, Liam.
Now it is apparent that someone wants to punish Savannah for her secret getting out and Beau realizes that the best way to keep her safe may be to marry his best friend and the girl he has had a crush on since they were in elementary school.
Can Beau keep Savannah safe?
This was such a good book and I am really enjoying this series!!
I totally understood why Beau was so mad at the beginning of the book for learning who Ethan’s real father was. When Beau went to confront his dad about the truth I was surprised at how his dad reacted and knew that we were in for a great ride! I really liked Beau and when he knew what he needed to do to keep Savannah safe and it wasn’t an issue for him because of how long he had cared for her. I liked how determined Beau was in the mayoral position to do things the right way and not be swayed or influenced by his father.
Savannah was someone who started with a rough slate because of her mother and she tried to do what was best for Ethan above all. Having Jacob claim Ethan as his own child allowed some safety for Savannah as she was “accepted” as part of the town, even though she was still really looked down upon.
I was happy when Beau starting protecting Savannah when terrible stuff started happening to her. I was pretty mad as a few times Ethan’s life was at risk and it made me mad. The person truly wanted to hurt Savannah deep and the stuff they did made my heart break for her as she just couldn’t catch a break.
Beau’s parents were absolutely awful and I was shocked at how ruthless his dad was. I knew right from the beginning that his dad was shady and would do anything to protect secrets but I must admit by the end of the book I was completely blown away!
I liked when Beau and Savannah finally had an open conversation about how they each felt and it changed everything in their relationship. It was funny how came out in the open and how each had done things in the past to guard their hearts.
I felt horrible for Savannah in a few situations when she felt completely out of place, especially at the mayor’s dinner. My heart broke for Beau when he knew Savannah had made up her mind on what she was going to do.
Towards the very end of the book my jaw hit the ground with everything that was revealed and although I wasn’t surprised at who was behind things in one aspect, I was in another. I couldn’t believe the information that came out and what happened with Mary Ellen.
The epilogue was awesome and I can’t wait for more!!
I have loved each book so far, and this one is my favorite. Beau and Savannah are just made for each other. You were able to see it in the previous books. They have been in love with each other for years but never told each other. When things hit the fan for Savannah, beau steps up and helps. But will that be enough to make them admit their feelings or will she walk away? You have to read this book, it is so totally amazing!!! I can not wait for the next one, it looks like it is going to be a heart wrenching one.
This was the book I have been waiting for, I knew Savannah and Beau had a story I was going to fall in love with, I knew this friends to lovers romance was going to be a bumpy journey I wanted to join and Ms Madison did not disappoint once again one of her small town romances will be hitting my best reads of this year.
Savannah is girl we all want to hate, she hasn’t had an easy life and she has made some bad decisions when it came to her personal life but she is one of those girls that you know beneath that hard exterior is a beautiful soul and it’s only as you peel the layers away that you get to see the real Savannah.
Savannah and Beau have known each other all their life and Savannah did what she thought was right in the name of love when she pushed the man who would always control her heart away all those years ago but the problem it’s hard to keep secrets in a town where everyone knows everyone’s business and just when you think Savannah and Beau are heading in the right direction Ms Madison throws a spanner in the works….
This is a story about true love, it’s about overcoming the problems life throws at us and it’s about opening up and being honest with yourself and the one you love. This book touched me on so many levels, I cried, I smiled, I screamed and at times I wanted to throw my kindle at the wall but this emotional roller coaster is a book I’m so glad to have read and I was left with a happy smile on my face. Please one click this gem you won’t be disappointed because if you are a romance lover this should be a must read.
Loved it… this series just keeps giving! Savannah and Beau’s story is not an easy one, for eight long years they have both secretly (although not so secretly) been in love with each other… but a foolish mistake by a naive and scared young Savannah kept them friend zoned. Secrets have a way of rearing their ugly heads and this one definitely divides the town. Beau is the town Mayor and Savannah is the town pariah, a very unlikely pair! When someone in town targets Savannah and her business Beau steps up and steps in to protect and save his life long love. Is love enough for Beau and Savannah to survive this Southern Storm!

What an amazing story. Southern Storm is my favorite of this series.
I loved this storyline….the romance, suspense and all the emotions that went into this story was fantastic. Natasha Madison totally knocked this one out of the park. Every time I read a new book by her, I fall more in love with her writing and characters. She is an automatic read for me. Her stories are everything I look for in a 5 star read.
I had been looking forward to Beau and Savannah’s story since book 1. And I wasn’t disappointed at all….this story totally lived up to my expectations. I was completely sucked into this storyline. I couldn’t help but root for Beau and Savannah to get their HEA.
Southern Storm is the third book in this series. It is a stand-alone novel but I would highly recommend reading these books in order. The stories all kind of connect to each other and I think if read out of order then there will be spoilers. This book is told in Dual POV. This book has a completed ending that I was completely happy with, but I also love how she sets up the story for the next and I believe final book in this series. I can’t wait to read that book!!!
If you are a fan of a friends to lovers story then this is one you MUST READ!!! This book definitely will be going on my Best of 2020 list!! Make sure you 1-click this book/series….you won’t be sorry!!!
I’m not sure how to explain how much I loved this book!!
I will say that at first I wasn’t sure if I would like it because I wasn’t a big fan of Savannah. She really redeemed herself in this book. Reading her side of the story really set things straight. She did not have it easy anytime in her life. She did however make the best of all of it. I don’t think I would have been able to make it through everything she did. She has always loved Beau as more than a friend but doesn’t want to ruin what they have. Will this change when secrets come out?
Beau is the best friend any person could ask for. Having found out a secret that tore him apart he is still able to find the good in it. He has always loved Savannah more than a friend but can’t bring himself to say anything because of the past. Will he be able to protect Savannah? Will he be able to finally let Savannah know how he really feels?
The twists in this had me amazed and wanting more. When everything happens to Savannah I thought I knew who was doing it but boy was I wrong!! Overall, this book was one of the best that I have read this year! I can’t wait for Ethan’s story in Southern Sunrise.
5 Stars:
Wow-what a book, I knew this book was going to be great, when we were given hints in the previous two books. You knew it wasn’t going to be all hearts, flowers and acceptance from everyone involved in this story. You know there are secrets and lies running thick throughout this book. But to this extent, leaves you shocked.
Beau and Savannah have been on the cards since they were small but Savannah getting “pregnant by his best friend” does damage that neither can move on from and 8 years of heartbreak ensues. 8 years of wanting, sacrificing and a whole lot hope. A secret love for each other, that none of them can admit.
I had a lot of preconceived ideas about Savannah but once I heard her side of the story. My opinion changed, although yes it was cruel and for me terrible to do, not only to herself, Jacob and Beau but also to a little boy that for me is the most innocent party involved. Although I now feel, she is right to keep her secret and become the villain. A mother would do anything for her child, wouldn’t they? Even though Savannah didn’t have that experience growing herself. She did it for him, even if I disagree, I understand. It explains more of the why’s in this story for me.
Beau and Savannah make a new pact to help with Savannah. In helping Savannah with the ensuing nightmare, they both find their dreams coming true. This for me is a beautiful, tragic and heartbreaking romance. One that will make you smile, yet cry in the next breath. One that will leave you guessing and praying for all involved. It will also bring out a rage at the injustices that one man believes he has the right to serve out. To hurt the innocent for his own gain and just be cruel and selfish.
This book is a great recommendation from me. It’s one that I won’t forget in a hurry and is one that is leading to a book that I know will completely break me. Ethan’s book is next and I for one can’t wait. Bring on Southern Sunrise.

Southern Storm is Savannah’s story and it is a rather bumpy one at that! It’s heartbreaking in certain moments but also some beautiful words are penned too!Im honestly struggling as to how Savannah has coped. She is a very strong woman despite what she has been through and continues to endure.
So much drama, love, friendships and family but also suspense that will shock you just as it did to me!
Beau has been her best friend for a long time and when he finds out something, needless to say their friendship heads in another direction! Can Beau fight for what he wants? What does he discover as he becomes the Mayor?
So much turmoil but in the end who will be by your side through thick and thin and can he count on those he trusts most?
So incredibly riveting where your heart will pound and you will wonder where things will go!
An awesome story the author should be very proud of!! Really cannot wait for more!! This is definitely one of Ms Madison’s best series!! Romantic suspense at its finest!
Oh wow! if you have loved the other books in this series like me you have been on the edge of your seat waiting for this story! For the secret to finally be out and the storm to hit!!
Natasha outdid herself with this one! She brought the emotions and serious steam! Beau will make you swoon and Savannah, oh Savannah you will want to protect and hug her from the hate that is constantly being sent her way! It just shows how strong she really is!
Grab the tissues and the wine and prepare for one stormy ride!
For me this was my favourite in this series and that’s saying something as I loved the other two books! I am super excited to see what is brought to us next with this series.
I am loving this series! And this is the book that I was most looking forward to! Beau and Savannah have loved each other since children but hide their love behind their friendship. Beau, Savannah and Jacob were besties since children; and when Savannah turned out pregnant at eighteen, it was Jacob who took responsibility over the child, at the cost of the love of his life Kallie. Beau felt betrayed in his love for Savannah, but accepted her choice and was there for her and her son Ethan.
“When I learned the news, I was cut off at the knees. I was gutted and hollow, thinking that my best friend had slept with the only woman I have ever loved. I pretended to be supportive of them, but deep down inside, I died. A piece of me was gone forever.”
Through Ethan’s life, he continued to be best friends with Savannah and Jacob and was like a secondary father to Ethan. Now, when this book starts, Beau finally finds out who is Ethan’s real father and it’s like an atomic bomb fell over them.
Beau is celebrating winning his election as mayor and invited all his friends. After the explosive news, he’s rude and cruel to Savannah and she flees. There’s a fraças and they all leave him alone to drink himself into oblivion. I was expecting then a book of betrayal and forgiveness and a huge amount of groveling. Instead, there was copious crying, a repentant man who immediately went to the woman he loved and apologized and was forgiven immediately.
This book has a lot of angst and suspense. Savannah is the victim of several episodes of sabotage at her business and house. Beau in his worry and desire to protect her, takes a surprise decision and rushes her along into cooperating. It takes the whole group of friends to help Savannah overcome all her trials and tribulations. It was lovely to see all the group of friends and parents helping and supporting Savannah. It was also sweet to see everyone loving on Ethan and sharing him. It was like everyone wanted to take care of him and they were taking turns to take him fishing, or swimming or making apple pies.
One thing I loved was that both Savannah and Beau thought that the other was living the single life and going out on dates; when the truth is that they were practically celibate. Way to fool your friend with a smoke curtain! They were really devoted to each other, they just didn’t know that about the other. Talk about having the truth in front of you and being blind to it! I had a great time reading this book and see them navigate to each other, so sweet.
“Bottom line, he was the hero in every single romance book I’ve read. He was the prince in every Disney movie. He was everything, but he looked at me like he always did—as a friend. I was his best friend, and he was one of mine.”
I loved the progression of this story. It wasn’t a slow burn that made you want to bump then in the head, there was no excessive stubbornness and pride keeping them apart. I felt for Savannah because in trying to find support for her pregnancy, she broke a couple apart (Jacob and Kallie) and earned the scorn of the whole town. For eight years she has been accepting the bad looks and bad rep, and now with all the sabotage, it was a lot to deal with.
I read the book super fast because I was enthralled by the mystery and the suspense and the angst. Poor Savannah cried a river of tears! And there’s a saying “it takes a village” and in this case it was proven true. The story was everything I wanted and needed and I loved the little snippet that gives us an idea of what’s coming next!
