Wow, I love this series! Each book has something you hook you and you won’t be able to put down these books. Every character L.K. Farlow creates you can’t help but fall for and feel like you are in the story. Then add the bonus scenes that will make you melt. The men in these stories will have you swooning all over the place wishing you had your own and each woman in these stories is strong and going through something, which will have you rooting for them. This series is heartfelt, emotional, crush your heart at times, but put it back together with all the chemistry these characters have in each book!
My goodness did I love this series. I connected so well with all three girls and their hunky men. But I do think Weather the Storm was my favorite. It wasn’t a traditional storyline which was nice to break up the monotony of similar books.
Azzy Jo in An Uphill Battle is such a firecracker! But she’s the perfect person to put D in his place. They have such a give and take relationship, it’s the kind of fun relationship everyone strives for. But I struggled a lot to get into this character.
Then there is Myla Rose. That girl is put through so many things in her short life but Cash knows how to swoop in and make her feel loved and treasured.
This box set is perfect for anyone wanting to smash out this whole series. What better way to have it all in one place that ALSO includes some sexy and AMAZING bonus scenes!
Everyone should pick up this box set, you won’t be disappointed!
This is the box set of the Southern Roots Series which includes Coming Up Roses, An Uphill Battle and lastly Weather the Storm. This is the story of three strong women and the men whose hearts they have captured.
Coming Up Roses – Cash’s heart was broken when he caught his girlfriend in bed with his friend on the day he was going to propose. Myla Rose gets pregnant by the son of one of her town’s wealthiest family, who doesn’t want anything to do with her. But Myla Rose is no damsel in distress and after a few mistakes by Cash, she agrees to give him another chance.
An Uphill Battle – Drake and Azalea have loved each other since they first met ten years ago, but timing had never been on their side. When one was in a relationship, the other was not, and so when they do get together, each thinks the other wants a “no strings” relationship, with no commitment.
Weather the Storm – This is Simon and Magnolia’s story and the friends from the previous books show up and actively intermingle with Simon and Magnolia. As with the other books in this series, this book is well written, flows wonderfully and even though you know that at some point something bad is going to happen to Magnolia, you’re never entirely sure when and it adds to the anticipation. This whole series was a joy to read and with extra bonus scenes is so much more to enjoy. Highly recommend it.
This series is a one-click must! Coming Up Roses was my first book by LK Farlow and I was hooked! It was funny, sweet, swoony and sexy! Cash and Myla stole my heart from the very beginning. Next we go to An Uphill Battle with sassy Azzy Jo and handsome Drake who battle the push and pull of a love they’ve both been too scared to go after. Finally we get to Simon and Magnolia in Weather the Storm. They are the sweetest, with some more serious issues to get through before they can find their forever together.
This series has all the feels! I love the southern vibe and humor throughout the series intermixed with the more serious moments. The bonus scenes were icing on the cake for these sweet couples!
The Southern Roots series is about three girls who find their happily ever after with alpha men who treat them like gold. Myla Rose and Cash is my favorite of all three stories. Myla Rose deserves to find happiness and Cash is just the right person to make her see that she is worthy of happiness. Azzy Jo doesn’t take is a stubborn woman, and Drake is the perfect stubborn man to bring her down. Magnolia is a sweetheart who has been through so much and is on the run from her past. Simon is able to break down those walls that she has erected, and show her that she is worthy of happiness. This series is of three friends who have each other’s back and are always there to provide support. The added bonus scenes are wonderful!! If you are looking for a sweet and uplifting book, then I recommend this series.
Coming Up Roses was the book that introduced me to LK Farlow’s writing and I’ve been hooked since. I’ve read each of the books in the box set multiple times, so of course I love having them all together in one place. The bonus content included was perfection! Anyone who likes sweet small town romance will love these books. Myla Rose and Cash are so cute together and I loved seeing Cash step up how she needed him. Drake and Azalea are more of an enemies to lovers story. Although, their biggest obstacle was getting out of their own heads and communicating. Magnolia and Simon are still my favorite. I’m a sucker for romantic suspense and their story has just the right amount wrapped up in all their sweetness. The only thing missing is Seraphine’s story! Poor things goes through so much throughout each book, she deserves a novella at the very least for her HEA!
Coming Up Roses:
I really liked this book! It was cute and really sweet! I loved Cash and Myla Rose! They were perfect together! I loved Myla’s relationship with her friends, they were more her family than friends!
An Uphill Battle : An Uphill Battle is book two in the series and it’s about Drake and Azalea. I loved this book! Even though I wanted shake and smack them both at times, I really did love Drake and Azalea!! I love this series.
Weather The Storm : I have been looking forward to reading Simon and Magnolia’s book and LK did not disappoint! I loved this book so much! It was a great addition to the series! I loved loved Simon. He was so sweet and protective of Magnolia. He was exactly what she needed! Magnolia was also sweet and so strong despite all her troubles! They were perfect for each other! I loved them together! I also loved the friendship between the group! This is an amazing series! Definitely recommend!
The bonus content for all three books were the perfect addition. Love these couples so much!!
Loved this box set, three different couples and the trials they had to endure to get their HEA. Loved the love and acceptance and loyalty of the friends. Will be looking for other books by L K Farlow.
I love your books I didn’t want the series to end thank you
I loved this series. From the storylines to the characters I never wanted the stories to end. Small town romances filled with drama, love, and attraction. What’s not to love about them?! Simon and Magnolia are hands down two of my favorite characters. Make sure you pick this up if you have not already. You will love it.
Oh my stars!
I forgot how much I loved these characters! It was refreshing to reread the stories and the added bonuses to the books made me feel content. I missed the southern talk and sass! I was so happy with the endings. Now if I could just get Cash, Drake, and Simon rolled into one guy, that would be perfect! I absolutely love this series!!!
I absolutely loved this series. In fact, Coming Up Roses was the book that first hooked me on this author. Cash and Myla Rose had such chemistry that even meeting at a less than stellar point in Myla’s life couldn’t stop their love from growing big and strong enough to withstand the drama and games that people tried to play with them.
As for Drake and Azalea, I DESPISED Drake for part of the book. Sure, they both had their issues to work through, but Drake seemed to take great pleasure in messing with Azalea’s head when he was angry, rather than actually communicating without games or half-truths. Granted, he more than made up for it, but I wanted to cry for Azalea at every deliberate misunderstanding and game played. She had her own deep-seated issues based on their past and Drake appeared to be the same immature jerk he once was a few times. But I kept reading because I loved their story and how they made everything right.
And then we have Simon and Magnolia. She’s running from something and Simon is determined to make her stop running and trust him to stand with her. They both have painful pasts, but Simon is strong enough to stand by Magnolia’s side when hers tries to invade her present. And when it all comes to a head, he and the rest of Magnolia’s family-by-choice are quick to figure out how to save her AND support her as she faces her fears one last time. I adored their story so much.
But the best part of the boxset may be the bonus content. We see a little into the future with Cash and Myla Rose, a little more with Drake and Azzy, and even more with Simon and Magnolia. And that future is as wonderful as readers could hope it would be.
Coming Up Roses:
Myla Rose – 20 and pregnant. The baby’s daddy, not interested. She could do this on her own. She didn’t need a man. Then she met Cash.
Everything Cash thought he knew for the last 7 years was a lie. He was done. And then he met Myla.
A sweet and sexy love story that will make your heart expand and your body swoon.
An Uphill Battle:
Azalea and Drake have known each other for years. And had a tolerate/hate relationship for just as long, but things have crossed over a line. Here’s the thing. Drake has had a thing for Azalea for years. Surely she knows that. And Azalea has wanted Drake for just as long. Everyone sees it but them. They are both in full denial. But that line they crossed? Gets more and more blurred every day.
Weather the Storm:
Magnolia is running from her abusive ex. She is just looking for a place to lay low and hide where he can’t find her. Working at Southern Roots with her cousin Seraphine and new friends Azalea and Myla.
Simon has watched his best friends fall in love and find their forever. He doesn’t need love. He’s doing fine just going through his life. Until Magnolia. She knocks him for a loop. He knows she’s running and he has this overwhelming need to protect her.
Come along as Simon learns to love and Magnolia learns what it feels like to be truly loved and treasured.
In this wonderful boxset you get three books.
First is Coming Up Roses. It was L.K. Farlow’s debut book. The first book I read by her and I got hooked. In this book you have Myla Rose and Cash. You also meet the rest of the crew. I absolutely love this book.
Book two is An Uphill Battle. After you’ve read Coming Up Roses your going to be dying to see what’s going to happen between Azalea and Drake. This will answers all your why questions. Drake is absolutely perfect for Azalea. Also loved this book.
The third and final book is Weather the Storm. This has my Ultimate book boyfriend Simon and his Magnolia. I love Simon, he stole my heart like no other character has. These two where made for each other. This is my favorite book out of the series. I loved all the bonus content. It was lovely getting to read about how everything has been going for all of them. This is a wonderful series about about a group of amazing and close-knit friends. I definitely recommend.
I received a Advanced Readers Copy and I’m leaving a voluntary review.
This box set brings together the three Southern Roots novels plus some awesome epilogues updating each couples story.
Coming Up Roses
The family you choose sometimes means more than blood
I may be working my way backwards but I loved the story of Myla Rose & Cash. So sweet, tender, funny, touching, passionate. He comes to Dogwood thinking his heart’s broken but he meets his true heart. Myla Rose feels like everyone leaves her. Cash is here to stay.
An Uphill Battle
They have the passion, now they just need the understanding
Azalea & Drake are like TNT. Explosive and a wee bit unstable. They’ve known each other for years. They’re hooking up. Drake just needs her to believe he really loves her and Azalea needs to let go of her past. These two really need to learn to communicate so they can get the HEA everyone knows they’ll have.
Weather the Storm
Goldilocks found the one who is just right
I devoured this in a few hours. Magnolia is a bit bruised & battered from her ex. She’s trying to be stronger. Simon is smitten. And he’s her white knight. He tries to give her the love & support she needs. She is realizing he is nothing like her ex. There are the friends we meet in the prior books. A sweet, passionate love story where good conquers evil.
Coming Up Roses
I’ve always felt that I was southern in another life, so I loved this story. I loved the close-knit friends. I definitely fell for Cash. Stepping up and not only claiming responsibility, but gifting his love to someone not of his blood. Family isn’t always typical and it can also be the love that we choose. It felt like kismet when 2 people who have gone through so much can find bliss at the other end.
An Uphill Battle
Azalea and Drake really fit the title of this book. The chemistry was on fire, but a lot of the time I just kinda wanted to slap them both upside the head…lovingly. For some reason, I can relate. I get the whole round and round battle that doesn’t go anywhere. But when you are into someone, the craziness doesn’t matter. I think for them, they enjoyed the chase. Some of it kinda did make me roll my eyes a little, but love…or the road to love isn’t always a straight path.
Weather the Storm
I loved Simon. He was a superhero for Magnolia. He was patient and so understanding with Magnolia’s timidness, even before he knew her secrets. It was a sweet story with a sad backstory, but it had a great message and a great love affair. I have to go back and read the rest of the series now!
The bonus scenes were sweet, hilarious, and sexy. I love reading extra parts of the stories, as I hate leaving the characters…even after they get their HEAs.
Not only is this a collection of 3 of some of my favorite books but we also got a bonus scene for each couple and they were amazing! Each one i loved. I think my favorite was myla’s but i really loved them all just the same. Each was perfect for each couple and such.
Part sweet and part sexy, the Southern Roots series has it all: frenemies to lovers, pregnancy, new beginnings, friendship, humor, and drama.
I picked up the Boxed set in order to check out the bonus content. I liked being able to revisit old friends and see a little bit more of the after the HEA. And it is nice having all three books in one set!
Coming up Roses is the story of Cash and Myla Rose. These two meet at a particularly low point in both their lives. One just off a breakup. The other pregnant and left high and dry. There is a sweetness to their story, and I loved watching them both find happiness when they were least expecting it.
An Uphill Battle, the story of Drake and Azalea, is my least favorite of the series. Though Drake can be a pain at times, he is genuine in his feelings and his pursuit of Azalea. He made me laugh, and I was impressed by his ability to stick it out with her, no matter how bad her attitude. Honestly, I find Azalea to be annoying and childish, and she stresses me out.
My favorite book of the series is Weather the Storm – Magnolia and Simon’s story. I just adore these two together. And the bonus content to their story? Perfect. It gave me all the feels and brought tears to my eyes.
Overall, this is a great collection and the perfect introduction to LK Farlow’s writing style!
Whoa! This small town romance has it all! Sassy heroines, suspense, alpha men who love their women, and babies!!! Gah! These romances will wrap you up like a warm hug and still get you heated! Along with that, you will laugh and feel the tugs on your heartstrings and angst. These books are rereads of mine that feel like coming home! Grab your copy now!
This is a 3 book series that will teach you the meaning of Sister- friend. I fell in love with this author as soon as I read Coming up Roses, I have been hooked ever since. These stories are heart-gripping, family love, enemies to lovers, pregnancy single lady, and women on the run. You too will fall in love with these friends that are more family to each other. I loved all the bonus scenes we get a peek into their future, but the author stayed true to each couple. Each bonus was steamy, and AzzyJo and Drake had me laughing out loud with their prank war. Sweet Magnolia and Simon were just so good.
