When one terrible crime of the heart wreaks havoc in the lives of those she loves, Justice must find the courage to face the consequences of her actions.Justice Goodacre and her twin sister, Courage, have performed together as the Twisted Sisters for more than a decade, but now the rodeo trick riding dynamic duo has split up, and Justice is going solo for the first time. She doesn’t mind riding … the first time. She doesn’t mind riding alone; the arena isn’t what scares her.
It’s what happened last summer that keeps her hat tipped low and her eyes on the ground.
And then there’s Brandon Stillwater, the love of her life, who isn’t so sure he can trust her with his heart, even after all this time, and now he’s making plans for a future that might not include her.
Her reputation at stake, both in the arena and back home at Seven Virtues Ranch in Plumwood Hollow, Justice must perform a cross-examination of her very soul before she can find her place in a world that no longer seems quite so black and white.

This was another great book in this series. I liked finding out more about Brandon and Justice’s pasts. This book delved into the depth of Justice’s character and made her more real. She struggled with guilt of her past choices and how they hurt so many people. Justice also had kept it a secret from her twin sister. Justice had to learn how to forgive herself and live on her own. Brandon was hurt by Justice’s choice and he struggled to forgive her decision. The couple are on the road together for the summer. The couple are stuck on a farm and have to make some major decisions about their futures. I really enjoyed their story and how they had to work through their feelings and faith to find grace and forgiveness. I recommend this book to anyone that loves romance and second chances.
In The Soul of Justice, Justice is faced with her twin’s injury and Courage’s relationship with Joe. This means Justice is alone with Brandon on the rodeo circuit this summer. Both Justice and Joe have a great deal to learn about forgiveness. They will do so with the help of a remarkable woman – Charlotte. The Seven Virtues Ranch Romance series is populated with wonderful characters and this book is just another great story in the series. These God loving characters always have challenges to overcome to get to their HEAs. I always enjoy the journey.
What happens when you think to much of yourself and not enough of those around you? Justice has to come to some hard conclusions about her future and her relationships. Can she get back on the path God has for her?
I love this series and am so happy to finally read Justice’s story. I will warn you though, this is a very emotional story. I laughed, cried, was frustrated, disgusted and angry several times. With that said though, I would read it again in a heartbeat. Justice and Brandon have a lot to learn and figure out, but they are so sweet together when they let their guard down. I also loved Charlotte and can’t wait to see how she works into the rest of the series. These sisters are all so intriguing, but it isn’t until their stories that we finally get to really understand them. Excited to learn about Prudence next.
Yay! We get to enjoy another long-awaited story in the Seven Virtues Ranch series which highlights the lives of seven extraordinary sisters whose unusual names are one of the seven virtues. This story, as the title suggests, is about Justice who has a forceful and strong-willed personality and the man she loves, Brandon Stillwater. Justice has betrayed Brandon’s trust and broken his heart and much to his disgust, he still loves her but he is so angry and isn’t sure if he still wants a future with her. Fair warning: get your tissues ready. This is an emotional story that causes Justice and Brandon both to look deep into their souls. Their story has lots of twists and turns as they wrestle with anger, guilt, blame, shame and all the darkness that comes with a betrayal. But you will not be disappointed in the end! The Soul of Justice is a wonderful addition to this fantastic series. Highly recommend!
I found my heart aching for Justice in this book, and I had very little respect for Brandon. I must say at the outset that you really do need to have read at least The Heart of Courage, if not all the other Seven Virtues books, before reading this in order to fully understand the back story. This is a painful, deep exploration of the meaning of forgiveness and the unforgiveable, and it’s something I feel Brandon needs to brush up on, even now. We do, however, meet Charlotte, a truly shining light in an otherwise bleak world. I hope we see more of her in future!
I hope you’ve read the other books in this series already. If not, you at least need to read The Heart of Courage, since she is Justice’s twin. Doughty has written a story that is raw and realistic – it’s not sweet and shallow romance. She gets down to what true love really looks and acts like, what forgiveness really looks and acts like. Do we need to earn worth, forgiveness, trust, love, or are those gifts of grace – God’s and others’?
