I was supposed to be editing my thesis, not suddenly married to someone I have never met… Someone named Nox – which is as pretentious as it gets, even for the Realm. I had never intended to return to live in the world I left when I wanted to go to Harvard. When faced with a spell gone catastrophically wrong, I would have agreed to anything to protect my family. I swore to the judge that I … understood the promises that my cousin had made. and would honor them. Note to self- cousin Lucinda is a lot freakier than she looks!
I didn’t understand that Nox would expect to be in charge. As in-totally in charge. Clearly, prognostication is not one of my gifts, because I never could have foreseen how much pleasure this sassy witch would get from yielding to my demanding and hot husband… All of this has got me wondering about a few things: Does everything happen for a reason? Can a girl have everything? Is a dominant with magical powers the devil or a girl’s best friend?
“The Sorcerer’s Willful” is a magical romantic comedy with an HEA.

Let me first admit that I don’t usually read any type of supernatural book but I stepped out of my comfort zone for this one because it sounded really good. I do not regret that decision one bit! I loved Dru’s sassiness and willfulness and her quick wit had me laughing out loud. I wasn’t sure what to expect once Nox entered the picture but he quickly proved himself to be the perfect amount of stuffy hotness (yes, I’m making that a thing!) that balanced Dru’s quirkiness. I don’t know how but they just meshed and I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next
I loved this book and the way it drew me in….in a magically, mystically…amazingly kinda way. I took me a hot minute to grasp but once I did….I was all in…in this realm or the other realm. Drucilla is from another realm in which magic, wizards, gremlins and other magical beings belong. She travels through to the simple, non-magical human of the world with her dad to finish up her Ph.D at Harvard, where her dad also teaches. She heads back through to the realm to attend her cousin’s wedding but things go awry and she ends up married herself!
I have read a few books by Susannah Shannon and have loved them all, but this one and the follow-up The Sorcerer’s Willful Wife are really quite comical and, of course, that passionate, dominant side!
A great story. I love the mix of erotica and fantasy.
Great Story! Great Audible Listen Fascinating & Magical!
The Sorcerer’s Willful Bride
Love and Other Magic, Book One
By: Susannah Shannon
Narrated by: Samantha
This is a great book, the story is well written and well told. Susannah Shannon creates an imaginative world where another realm exists on earth, where sorcerers and witches live. The fascinating storylines are original and entertaining, they captivated me from start to end. The characters ware well developed, I really liked Drucilla, in addition to being strong and smart, she had a good heart and a great sense of humor. Back in the realm to attend or rather to talk her cousin Lucienne out of marrying a man she was matched with by brokers in the realm. Lucienne will not be talked out of it and plans on going a head with the binding. Well a mishap of name calling during the ceremony binds Drucilla to the groom, Nox of Pendlecroft. Without serious repercussions binds can not be undone. So Drucilla and Nox agree to give it a go. I loved the chemistry between the two, Nox is more noble and proper, he is also a Dom something Dru was not aware of. But things have a funny way of working out. A lot goes on in this book, it is adventurous with drama, humor, some twists, hot romance and a whole lot of heart. This is my first book from this author and it will not be my last. Thank you Susannah Shannon for this great story.
I listened to the Audible edition, Samantha is a wonderful narrator and voice performer. She brings the characters to life, gives each their own voice and personality. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen
Thank you Lee Savino for this great audiobook!
Magical bdsm romance.
It strikes me that there doesn’t seem to be a explanation for the stars that are given. So I thought I’d start giving my take on it.
1 horrible no redeeming qualities.
2 there are redeeming qualities.
3 good worth reading, or well written but not my cup of tea.
4 great but there’s something off.
5 loved it.
Argg, everything I started to write becomes a spoiler. I HATE spoilers so I think I’ll just go on to say that the narration gives the story life.
