I loved it. One of the best books I have read in quite a while. An absorbing, poignant, story with an original point of view.
This is an incredibly well-written novel, and I enjoyed it immensely!
Interesting from a historical point of view.
I loved it , different genre for me . Story of love and conflict set in Greek mythology
too confusing to finish
Live with the poetic interpretation of Achilles legend.
I haven’t read mythology for awhile. I really enjoyed this perspective of the Trojan War. i particularly appreciated the character profiles at the end. It was a fun throwback to high school Literature classes.
This was a WONDERFUL book about Achilles and his world. It begins in his youth and moves forward to before Troy. I understand there is a part two from this author, and I can’t wait to read it.
Although fiction, this book gave in great detail, what the world was like in the time period. Great twist on the Gods and their power.
Too much fantasy and mythology for my taste. Well written but not my cup of tea.
Follows the story of Troy closely. Almost like reading Homer (well…the beauty of the lines is NOT there. I kind of missed “His armor rang about him.” ) The plot and characterizations are very readable.
A very lovely surprise of a book!
I’m familiar with the story of Achilles and the Iliad. It was interesting to see it transformed into a narrative and flushed out with some detail. For the most part I agreed with the choices made.
This book gave a new perspective on this story. Well written and interesting.
