2nd EditionOne moment Riley Murrough is living a normal life working in a coffee shop, and the next he’s running for his life from demons, learns he bears the mark of a shape-shifter king from a magical realm, and-worst of all-he’s destined to become the mated prince to the arrogant tiger shifter he would rather strangle. Khalon, the shifter king, is equally distraught at the idea of being bound … equally distraught at the idea of being bound to a human prince, and along with his Soldati warriors, he sets out to return Riley to his own world where he belongs. On their journey they might discover why the priestess brought them together-if they can escape the demons and make it to her alive.
First Edition published as The Soldati Prince in Charmed & Dangerous by JCP Books LLC, 2015.

This book hooked me with tiger shifters and it delivered that and much more. I so enjoyed the world of the Soldati with its various shifters beyond the tigers, though the tigers remain my absolute favorite. Khalon was adorable and got even more adorable as he came to terms with his attraction to Riley. Riley won the lottery in so many ways and I can’t help but feel happiness for him!
Wow, what a book, a fantastic start to a new series.
Charlie sets the scene for a new world for us to explore, the main characters are shifters, Tigers with foxlings in the story. Khalon is the King Tiger Shifter and is looking for his Prince, this is done whilst fighting demons.
Riley is a human working in a coffee shop, fed up with life when one day the demons find him and his life changes for ever.
Seriously this is an awesome book and have already started book 2, Im hoping it will be a long series like Thirds.
Would highly recommend.
Charlie Cochet is one of my favorite authors and she didn’t disappoint with this book. Wow!!! I loved Riley and his attitude. He was just was Khalon needed in a mate. It took them a while to figure that out. I highly recommend!!
Yet another proof that Charlie Cochet is the master of world building! This is not a long read, but you still get served a complete and wholesome new world, and a great entertaining story!
The characters were awesome and the secondary one promise more fun stories to come.
All in all, a splendid series opener!
I really enjoyed this start to a new series from an author who is a favorite due to her fun and sexy stories. Riley is lovable from the beginning. Who wouldn’t like a guy who loves to eat and isn’t ashamed to admit it? When Ryan is dragged into the world of the Soldati, where shifters and demons are very real, everyone quickly adores him – except for the Soldati king, Khalon.
Khalon is not very likable when we first meet him, and the snarky remarks that draws from Riley are great. It doesn’t take long before Khalon shows that he isn’t just a jerk, and he and Riley begin to have a difficult time not following through on the mating they are sure would be a bad idea.
This story is fun and fast-paced. I loved all the different characters and look forward to getting to know them all better. I was happy with the way this book ended, but I do hope to read lots more about this couple as they grow closer over time. I think this is going to be a terrific series!
This book Is simply brilliant. Ms Cochet created another amazing world from scratch, full of amazing characters, a very complex and interesting plot and a romantic and unique love story. The start of another fascinating series. I can’t wait to read book 2!
Riley will leave you laughing at his actions and words. Khalon will make you want to either smack him or shake him but it is well worth it. This world is fascinating and the characters are so full of life. I am fascinated to see what happens next in this world.
The Soldati Prince is a wonderful and perfect combination of hilarity, action-packed, and angst! I loved all the characters. The main characters, Riley and Khalon, the Soldati King, are so endearing! I even enjoyed the secondary characters as well as tertiary characters. This is a great start to a series. I’m ready to read the next book.
I love shape shifter stories and this one did not disappoint!! Riley is a barista in a coffee shop when one night at closing 2 demons come for him. Out of thin air four tiger shifters come to save him. When he is touched a Khalon mark comes forward. Khalon is a king in a magical realm and Riley is his Prince, but Khalon does not like the idea of a weak human being bound to him. The story has action, romance and some light angst. This was so good, absolutely loved this story!! I am voluntarily leaving a review form an ARC that I received. My reviews are solely based on my thoughts and opinions.
Golden strength
“All will be revealed in due time.” I love the way everything unfolded, the surprises we uncovered and most especially all the lovable characters we meet in this enchanting world. Sexy Khalon, who’s arrogant and grumpy but with hidden depths, and adorable Riley, who’s snarky, charismatic and has a way with people; they have an amazing and sizzling connection. I adore them both, especially how fierce, courageous and stubborn they can be. Their bickering and teasing was funny and heartwarming, and I would most happily play hide-and-seek with them any time. A wholly magical world that I want more of and a fantastic start to an exciting new series.
The Soldati Prince by Charlie Cochet is the first book in the Soldati Hearts series. This is a paranormal m/m romance packed with fascinating characters, intriguing world building, and an amazing storyline. Riley and Khalon have great chemistry, whether its bickering or steaming up the scene. I really liked the surprises their story held. The set up for this series is well gone, I can not wait to devour more books as they are released.
4.5 stars. Shapeshifting tigers, a warrior king, a castle, demons, and tons of action. Khalon is a bit of a bigot when it comes to humans and he’s miffed that one is his mate. He’s more than a bit of jerk to Riley but can’t stay away from him either. It was nice to see that he was kind and fair to his subjects. Riley’s life has been at a standstill until he arrives in the Soldati kingdom. His open friendliness is given to everyone. This book is fun and Charlie’s writing is always worth reading.
This book will capture your heart. It made me laugh, brought tears to my eyes and was just what “the doctor prescribed”. I shouldn’t be surprised, it always happens when I read any of Charlie Cochet’ books. The perfect balance between humor, love and angst with some easy to love and intriguing supporting characters added to the mix makes it impossible to put down. Family chosen /found concept works every time no matter what the strange and imaginative world she leads us to. I just wish that this story was at least a chapter longer, because some opportunities for more banter and fun /heart warming situations were clearly missed. I’m moving right away to book 2 in this series, no doubt I’ll read it in one sitting and be craving for more.
