I read the first in the series and I was so upset to have to wait so long for the next book. Just wanted to know what happened next……..
Great books
Spoiler:
For the love of all things literary, stop doing weird things with twins! Okay, I have a twin brother so I get a little annoyed when people give twins “powers.” Like, for example, two kids growing up in different homes coming up with their own secret language despite the fact that the twins never interacted. There’s no psychic vibe that would allow them to make up a language like that. And if there is, and there are real X-men out there, I’m impressed. Also, not impressed that when they found out they were twins, Ari was like wow, that explains why I’m not attracted to you. Weird. Weird but at least Dodd wasn’t trying to do some Star Wars/ Game of Thrones stuff.
Alright, that’s out of my system, back to the book. The Lorenzo/Huntley/Daniel love triangle still had me interested so that’s fun. This book also seemed to have a bit more action than the others so I also appreciated that. As for Huntley as a character, still not sure I like her but I’m at least intrigued by her. The one thing about this book, other than the twin secret language thing, is that Huntley trusts people SO easily. The author keeps talking about how she was trained not to trust but she literally trusts everyone she meets. And, they trust this 19 year with super intense information. Seems a bit far fetched to me that she would be included on such important conversations. But, I get it, she needs to be so she can help save the world.
Like I said in my last review for this series, I’m intrigued by the plot and I have to keep reading. I’m definitely not amused by this cliffhanger.
The Society (Spy Girl #3) was another great read by Jillian Dodd. Huntley is sent to London for her next mission. Huntley and Ari go to Malcolm Prescott’s home and Ari is asked to join a secret group, The Society. It is there that Huntley finds out more about her father. She is trained to have no emotional entanglements, but it gets harder for her. She starts to go against Black X and developing relationships while trusting more people. She will do anything to find out who the illusion Money Man is. I enjoyed reading more of Huntley’s journey and can’t wait to read more of this series.
The story develops very well in this book, as good and bad turns less black and white and more “who knows”, leaving room for plenty of plots and intrigue. Also adore how the romance is growing.
This book was so full of adventure that it kept me peeled to each page. I am so shocked at the ending and I have to read the next book to find out the fate of my beloved character.
