Inspector Harry Hole tracks a Norwegian serial killer in this installment of Jo Nesbø’s New York Times bestselling series. One night, after the first snowfall of the year, a boy named Jonas wakes up and discovers that his mother has disappeared. Only one trace of her remains: a pink scarf, his Christmas gift to her, now worn by the snowman that inexplicably appeared in their yard earlier that … their yard earlier that day. Inspector Harry Hole suspects a link between the missing woman and a suspicious letter he’s received. The case deepens when a pattern emerges: over the past decade, eleven women have vanished—all on the day of the first snow. But this is a killer who makes his own rules . . . and he’ll break his pattern just to keep the game interesting, as he draws Harry ever closer into his twisted web. With brilliantly realized characters and hair-raising suspense, international bestselling author Jo Nesbø presents his most chilling case yet—one that will test Harry Hole to the very limits of his sanity.

A Great series, an international police procedural mystery with a flawed inspector.
Just okay. Difficult to follow. Couldn’t get into the characters. Didn’t feel there was any good detective work. Seemed more like hit and miss and flailing around. Some parts were downright boring. Not into it at all.
I love his books and this was no exception.
Scariest murder mystery I’ve ever read
Too many characters to keep track
i have read the enire series. Thoughtful books with a dark side.
Intriguing and complex page turner.
If you can stomach brutal murders this is a good book.
One of Nesbo’s best!
Best of Nesbo!
Nesbo never disappoints.
Nesbo is a force unto himself! Where does he ever get his ideas? Like his other books, this book stands alone as a very weird and scary read. No in-between with Nesbo…you are addicted to him, or scared of his ideas. Just an outstanding writer in his genre.
This is nesbo at his best…a very thrilling read that kept me on the edge of my seat and reading through the night. I really like his dark and emotionally compelling plot and vivid descriptions of the action.
This author builds tension and interest like a master. I have read several books by this author and have enjoyed them all.
A great addition to the Harry Hole series!
Interesting characters. NOIR Scandinavian mystery…Unique!
Love this author
The Snowman is a creepy mystery about a serial killer. The tone is little sordid but more than that – it is rather bleak. This is not a story about happy, well-adjusted people. Everyone is damaged and some are dealing with it better than others. The hero / main character / detective is similarly flawed but interesting and at least professionally …
Can’t wait to see the movie!
Dark and disturbing
