A fascinating story. Unique. Thought provoking yet believable ending. Filled with people who cared (except for the one self centered cop). Not the typical mystery. You cant go wrong on this one.
I love this book. I will probably read it again soon. The concept presented, the very core of our DNA trying to assert itself, was a little hard to grasp at first. And then, amid much psychological information, I had an epiphany. Because I had experienced the lucid dream, many years ago. The subject matter was different, but the foundation was identical. Amazing.
Loved the intensity of Gordon Pope all wrapped up in his insecurities. Have already finished book 2 of this series.
For Gordon Pope, his own strange childhood episode of Sleepwalking becomes the key to save a young boy from a fate he doesn’t deserve as it’ll begins when Gordon encounters Ethan during a court case; where Ethan’s life and sanity will be determined if Gordon cannot help him. Beautifully written, haunting and enthralling… highly recommended.
I enjoyed this story about a child psychiatrist who suffers from such a debilitating lack of confidence that he refuses to treat children — until he is called as an expert witness for a case that strikes close to home and heart. It was fun seeing the character turn his life around as he re-engaged with his expertise. As a fan of “The Exorcist,” there were moments in the story that were wonderfully creepy and unsettling, and these did get me to keep turning the pages to find out more about this medical mystery. As someone who worked in neuroscience biomarkers, the brain science wrapped up in the mystery was kind of a stretch, but the story was so good that I was able to suspend disbelief and enjoy the ride.
This was obviously a work of fiction but much of it was based on science. I’ve always found dreams to be intriguing so a psychological thriller based on what happens if someone can’t enter into their REM cycle was really interesting. I’ll be looking for more from the author and I’d definitely recommend this book if you like a good thriller and you’re looking for something a little outside the ordinary.
Normally I do not read books such as this, but I could not put it down.
a mystery that I thoroughly enjoyed. good plot and story
Wow. So complicated, the treatment of this young boy. Really scary to think that this situation, and this solution, most probably does exist in the real world!!
Great read.
I learned stuff about sleep walking.
What a story! Millions of twists and turns. A must read!
Very different from any book I’ve read. Really interesting premise about dreaming and sleepwalking. A real thriller.
It started out kind of slow and seemed to be confusing but as the story went on I just kept reading and it got more interesting. I could hardly wait to see what happened next. To me it was interesting but just OK.
Excellent characters that draw you into the stories. The dream plot is tense and nerve-racking at times. I love the growth of the characters throughout the story. A little too much dream techno-babble at times but plot is so good it’s easy to move on. I definitely will look for more from this author.
Completely unexpected premise. Interesting, informative and an original idea from psychological thrillers. Enjoyed immensely
Get ready to wrap your mind around what the mind can DO, as well as what a REAL writer/Author can do as well!! There are so many levels in this book, and of the plot, and sub plots, sending the reader of The Sleep Walker any where but to sleeping!! Touching story on bringing some back from the brink, but so much more than that too. Brilliant mind of a doctor, heartaches of parents losses, limited black and white type mindsets of cops, who because they are hammers, everything they see looks to them like a nail, takes the reader to unknown worlds in some minds, who…OOPS no SPOILERS. NONE. This story is too beautiful to ruin it for readers. Suffice it to say Author B.B. Griffith more than adequately weaves a story to NOT be missed. Author B.B. Griffith KNOWS how to tell a story too!! The Sleep Walkers (Gordon Pope Series), by B.B. Griffity captured my readers mind, and kept it in his VERY astute writing hands to the end. He leaves nothing out of his stories. Great beginning, middle, and end. Very thought provoking, moves a very nice pace, then amps up the action which puts the reader on the edge of their seat type reading. I am so pleased I found Author B.B. Griffith!! What a beautiful, adept story teller!! I URGE you to get The Sleep Walkers for a thrilling and fulfilling read, as you find yourself in a very capable Author’s writing hands.
Surprisingly good book. Short but full of twists and turns. Totally unexpected ending but a very good one.
A very good read! Not precisely a “mystery” yet enthralling.
Griffith pens a cleanly written mystery that is intriguing and creative. The characters were all very real and believable. I enjoyed the way everything remained true to its original description. I also liked the barely implied theory that the main conflict *could’ve* been supernatural. I plan to move on to the next in the series and that says a lot about how well this book is written.
