The third thrilling installment in the bestselling Under Suspicion series from #1 New York Times bestselling author and “Queen of Suspense” Mary Higgins Clark and Alafair Burke—television producer Laurie Moran puts everything on the line to help a woman she thinks was wrongfully convicted of murder. Casey Carter was convicted of murdering her fiancé—famed philanthropist Hunter Raleigh … Raleigh III—fifteen years ago. And Casey claims—has always claimed—she’s innocent. Although she was charged and served out her sentence in prison, she is still living “under suspicion” She hears whispers at the grocery store. She can’t get a job. Even her own mother treats her like she’s guilty. Her story attracts the attention of Laurie Moran and the Under Suspicion news team—it’s Casey’s last chance to finally clear her name, and Laurie pledges to exonerate her.
With Alex Buckley taking a break from the show—cooling his potential romance with Laurie—Under Suspicion introduces a new on-air host named Ryan Nichols, a young legal whiz with a Harvard Law degree, Supreme Court clerkship, experience as a federal prosecutor, and regular stints on the cable news circuit. He’s got a big reputation and the attitude to match it. Ryan has no problems with steering—and stealing—the show, and even tries to stop Laurie from taking on Casey’s case because he’s so certain she’s guilty.
An egomaniacal new co-host, a relentless gossip columnist who seems to have all the dirt (and a surprising informant), and Casey’s longstanding bad reputation: Laurie must face this and more to do what she believes is right, to once and for all prove Casey’s innocence—that is, if she’s innocent… The Sleeping Beauty Killer will keep you guessing until the very end.

When I open up a Mary Higgins Clark mystery, I fall in at the first page and can hardly put the book down. This would be a great book to read on a snowy day when you have nothing else to do but read.
Love the book
Loved this book. Casey has been tried and convicted of manslaughter and served her 15 years. She is out now and wants to find the real killer!!
Awesome book
I loved all the Mary Higgins Clark/Alafair Burke series. I’m sad that with the death of Ms. Clark, ends this mystery author team.
Wonderful mystery writer
This is a great series. I enjoyed every book I have read.
I think the titles are great; makes me want to read the book.
This is number 4 in the “Under Suspicion” series and the plot is a bit different from the others in the series. The other books focus on a cold case which went unsolved and the key players were “under suspicion”. The plot for book 4, “The Sleeping Beauty Killer” has our heroine, Casey Carter, charged and convicted of killing her fiancé – famed philanthropist Hunter Raleigh III and serving fifteen years in prison. After immediately being released from prison Casey contacts Laurie Moran and the Under Suspicion tv program to help her clear her name and get justice for her fiance Hunter. There was a lot going on in this book with multiple subplots and even continuing with a character, “Charlotte” from the previous book for another point of view. Alex Buckley the previous host is taking a break from the show and from his growing romance with Laurie. In the meantime, “Under Suspicion” has hired a new on-air host, Ryan Nichols who has a big reputation and the attitude to match it who constantly bumps heads with Laurie. Lots of characters believe Casey is guilty of murder including her mother, her fiance’s family, the police, the public and a relentless gossip columnist who seems to have all the dirt. I have to admit I knew who the real killer was a few chapters into the story. I was hoping I wasn’t right but the more I read along with the authors’ other sub-plots for distraction, the more I knew I was right. I felt sorry that Casey didn’t have anyone who truly believed her not even her own mother then lost 15 years of her life for a stupid reason. Enjoyable story and all the villains kept the story interesting and moving right along.
I’ve enjoyed the previous “under suspicion” books and many others by this author. This one not so much. I was able to figure it out quite early. There wasn’t much suspense. The neat little answers all tied up in a bow (made of women’s fitness wear, no doubt) was a bit much. The relationship with Alex…don’t like the direction that headed. He’s starting to seem a bit like a jerk.
I enjoyed this book very much! With realistic characters and strong plot of a twisted mystery, this is an exciting read!
Typical Mary Higgins Clark book
I really liked this one! I love all of Mary’s books and the Under Suspension series is really good I like how they continue with the same main characters but totally different cases you don’t have to read them in order they will make a reference to the other ones but not enough that it makes a difference.
I’m waiting for Avira and Willy to make a cameo!!
Pretty good read. Not as unpredictable as I would have liked.
I was completely disappointed in this book. About 1/3 of the way through I skimmed to the end. Way to obvious and silly.
New series for me, loved it
I enjoyed reading this book. Good plot, with a lot of unexpected turns.
As all Mary Higgins Clark books it was very enjoyable kept my interest and still looking forward to the next turn
I normally find Mary Higgins Clark books a bit formulaic but I enjoyed this one. There weren’t any twists or turns but it was a solid mystery with good characters.
Read all of these books. Like alafair Burke Have read her books too. These books are easy to read and entertaining.
The only thing I didn’t like about the book was the ending. I’m still trying to figure it out???
