Thrust into a world of powerful magic and deathly danger… lies and love await at the Slayer Academy.
Book 1 – The Legacy
From nerdy bookworm to Fae Slayer in training.
My life has always been meticulously planned, and blissfully free of surprises. I hate surprises.
Discovering I come from a long line of Fae Slayers and must give up my position at a prestigious college to attend a Slayer Academy?
Worst. Surprise. Ever.
I’m a nerd. A bookworm. I slay with words, not swords.
Fighting to stay at the top of the class is nothing compared to fighting to survive.
If the deadly weapons and the mysteriously hot, but possibly evil guy don’t kill me, then six months without cell reception might.
Book 2 – Fae Hunter
From Fae Slayer to renegade rebel
Slayer Academy 101—the Fae are evil.
But I’ve glimpsed the true heart of a Fae prince. Fiore is kind, merciful and saved my life.
Now he’s missing.
Journeying to the Fae realm is treacherous, especially with Nyeer, the Fae prince who tried to kill me.
But loathing soon turns to lust and Nyeer strips away my defenses—along with my clothes— until my heart’s in just as much danger as my life.
Can I risk it all, betraying my own people to save three Fae princes? And will I lose them, too.
Book 3 – Forbidden Love
A rogue Slayer saved the Fae… but has she ignited a war?
The Slayers have me trapped and tortured by a witch. But she can abracadabra me till my dying breath—I’ll never talk.
Rescued by the Fae princes, my wounds heal, but my heart breaks. I can’t choose between them. I won’t.
When they agree to share me, my heart is full. My body sated.
Until the Slayers attack.
The Grizzled Forest blazes and amid the flames, Slayers and Fae battle to the death.
The Slayers taught me everything I know about magic, and their power is immense… I just hope my love for the Fae is stronger than the Slayer’s hate.

This is a great boxset, one that once you start it you will not be able to put it down! There’s spells and sorcery, danger and lies, love and bullies and a fantabulous kick ass heroine and her awesome harem ! A great paranormal academy read!
Our heroine likes her life organized and planned. That all goes out the window when she discovers she has magic and is enrolled at a special academy for slayers. Fae slayers, that is.
This is complete series in one set, which resolves all of those potential problems which reading order and cliffhangers. All to the good.
Also to the good was the first book. I really liked our heroine and the set up of the series at the academy. It had several of the usual elements (the bad boy/bully, the new kid syndrome, etc) but there was humor and enough unique about it to keep my interest. There was also a fair number of steamy scenes, far more than I was expecting actually, but that didn’t bother me so much as surprise me.
Unfortunately, things went downhill starting in book two. There were continuity errors, name changes and a few other facts as well, which really annoys me because it is so disruptive. I am one of those people that pay attention to details, so when they change, I notice. Somewhere in here our heroine also picked up a couple of additional guys so that now it was a reverse harem and includes even more steamy scenes. Again, not that I mind the steam, but at this point it started to seem gratuitous.
All in all, I would have to recommend reading the first book and stopping. That would have been a much more satisfying experience for me.

Having no choice but to attend the Academy is not even on her mind. Now that she is there she does her best to do what it takes to learn, make friends and figure out the Fae. Are they all bad, evil or are they misunderstood? Did she just create a possible war by befriending a Prince Fae? Great box set for young adults and adults!

The Slayer Academy: Books 1 to 3 by Amelia Shaw are the first books I have read by this author. Megara learns after finishing high school that she is a fifth generation slayer. She attends the Slayer Academy where she learns about becoming a slayer and the Fae. Meg also learns that things are not what they seem when she meets the Fae Princes. I loved this magical and easy to read story. I look forward to reading more by this author.
An interesting take on a slayer academy style book. I’ve only come across one other fae slaying book before and this is leagues better. There is the typical hot popular bully-style guy, mean girl, and the besties/roomies in this academy but it lacks a well-rounded academy feel as not many other characters are shown or have any interaction with Meg (the main character). Only the first book takes place in an academy setting. The slayers hunting fae isn’t used very often from what I’ve come across and I thought it was well done, however it lacked interactions with basically any fae other in any context other than the three princes that show up in the first book. The origins of the slayers was very sketchy and not really explained at all. Where did their magic come from? Where did they come from? Also, in the first book it was explicitly stated she was a 5th generation and she told her class that too, but this book she claims to be a 3rd generation and her mom says she a 5th as well as not to tell anyone. The story also did not give us any clue why the MFC was so special compared to other slayers power-wise. The final battle was short lived and had almost no interaction with any of the slayers the MFC knew from her time at the academy. There was also no resolution with the MFC’s parents or why being 5th generation was so special other than a long legacy.
Review of Book 1 The Legacy:
Well whoa … you quickly learn this is a “fish out of water” tale. Meg has no knowledge of the Slayer Academy or why anyone would need a Slayer Academy. She gets shipped out to the Slayer Academy within hours of finding out that she is the 5th Generation of Slayers in her family. She learns she must fight and kill the Fae because they are evil.
The makes some friends, takes some classes, has a tryst and decides her path. Will it lead her to the “Legacy” status she seems to have?
I received this as an Advance reader copy with the hope I would enjoy it an want to review it.
Review of Book 2 Fae Hunter:
Thank goodness this was bundled all together or I would have gone crazy trying to learn what happened in the next installment! Awesome story and cast of characters to pull you into this fast paced adventure at the Slayer Academy. I will definitely be looking for more books by this author in the near future!

Take a journey into this new world as Megara learns her family has a legacy of being Fae Slayers and sends her to Slayer Academy to learn the ropes. She faces a harsh reality and begins to question what is really the truth. But following her gut and her heart leads her to some amazing discoveries and ultimately love. Here are my reviews for each book in the series:
The Legacy – Great start to this new paranormal academy series. Megara is still trying to find her place in life and struggling to fit in, when her parents drop a bombshell on her – She is being sent to Slayer Academy just like her parents and grandparents before her to learn how to kill the Fae. While her family history makes her a Legacy, she knows next to nothing about this new world she finds herself in. Top that off with a mysterious encounter with a guy at a bar the night before she leaves and a not so welcoming introduction to the Academy, and she doesn’t know what to believe. As she seeks the knowledge she needs to survive this adventure, she begins to question the past, her feelings, and what the truth really is. Things get even more complicated as she learns more and unwittingly finds herself in a bit of a love triangle between Fiore, the Fae she met at the bar, and Brutus, the bully she met upon her arrival at the school. With all these expectations placed on her because she’s a Legacy, just what will she do and what will her ultimate legacy be?
Fae Hunter – Things definitely heat up in this second book of a paranormal academy series. Megara returns to school after winter break more determined than ever to discover the truth behind the war between humans and Fae. While she receives encouragement from her mom to follow her instincts, everyone at the school is firm in their belief that the Fae are evil. When Nyeer, another one of the Fae Princes, abducts her to seek her help to find the missing Prince Fiore, she finds her heart divided. As they work together looking for answers, things between them begin to heat up. Despite her connection to Fiore, she can’t resist the draw to Nyeer, and training sessions to prepare for the rescue soon lead to more. When the final Prince, Everly, confronts them on their lack of progress, Megara realizes that the time to act has finally come. While surprised that she’s attracted to all three princes, she believes that she’s finally found her place, and it’s at all of their sides. But first she must return to Slayer Academy to rescue Fiore, and the resulting battle leads to some surprising discoveries about both herself and the Slayers and a heart-breaking ending that left me anxious to read the next book to find out how it all turns out.
Forbidden Love – Megara may have rescued one of her princes, and got them all safely back to Faerie before sealing the portal to their world, but that has left her in the not to tender hands of the Slayers. Finding a strength she didn’t know she had, she resists all their attempts at learning the secrets of the Fae she has while holding out hope that her Princes will find a way to save her. Back in Faerie, the Princes are desperate to find a way back to the human world to save Megara. But saving Meg only serves to further ignite tensions, and it seems a war between the Slayers and Fae is inevitable. Yet, rescuing Meg unites the Princes and all the Fae with the promise of a brighter future for Faerie. While Megara and her Princes get their HEA, I wish there could have been more because I felt like the story was still unfinished.
This is a great book series. These books are great stories with great characters. This is a series full of action and suspense. This is an enjoyable read
