Special agents Nicholas Drummond and Michaela Caine take on a criminal mastermind in the next captivating thriller in the New York Times bestselling A Brit in the FBI series. “Coulter and Ellison smoothly mix contemporary political issues with eerie historical legend in this fast-paced” (Publishers Weekly) thriller. The mystery: shocking. When several major political figures die mysteriously, … several major political figures die mysteriously, officials blame their deaths on natural causes. However, when a small drone is spotted at the scene of the most recent death, it quickly becomes clear to FBI agents Nicholas and Michaela that there’s more to this mystery than meets the eye.
The key: indecipherable.
Dr. Isabella Marin is a language expert, and she’s dedicated her entire life to researching an ancient text that has long been considered indecipherable…that is, until now. When it becomes clear that there’s an alarming pattern between the text and the recent deaths, she teams up with the FBI to find the link. It’s clear that the manuscript is the key to catching the killer. But how?
The case: nearly impossible.
When Nicholas and Michaela uncover plans for a devastating attack on London, they must race against the clock to stop the killer before it’s too late. Not only are they in danger of losing the manuscript–an object of extreme value–but they’re also at risk of losing more innocent lives: including their own.
With their signature heart-pounding tension and suspense, Catherine Coulter and J.T. Ellison’s The Sixth Day is “another amazing entry in this ongoing series” (Associated Press).

In this fifth book of the series we find Nicholas and Mike in London enjoying some much needed time off after their last escapade with some not so nice people. Mike seems to be recovering well and Nicholas is happy to spend some time with his grandfather helping him figure out some hacking problems his company is having. When dignitaries start dying Nicholas and Mike are called in to help figure out who is doing it, what is actually killing them, and why are they being murdered . They were notified that there was a drone seen in the area of one of the deaths which has them wondering what if anything it had to do with the incident. You are instantly pulled in as the duo faces a mad man who thinks he was descended from Vlad the Impaler and come up against some wonderfully inventive high tech gadgets that are truly relevant to this day and age. The authors delivered a fast paced read filled with lots of mystery and tons of intrigue. The plot they weaved was well written and felt like one person actually wrote it. If you haven’t picked up this book yet you should, it’s truly worth the time. I’m excited to see what Nicholas and Mike come up against next, I can’t imagine it but I know the authors can and won’t disappoint!!!
I love all of Catherine Coulter’s FBI books, including the Brit in the FBI series. Suspenseful, entertaining, and can’t predict the outcome except that they will come out on top. Sometimes I have to remind myself of the the last one when they are in dire straights.
If you haven’t read any of the books in this series it is best to start with book 1 but you can read this as a stand-alone. Catherine Coulter and J.T. Ellison have done it again and kept me up at night reading even though I have to be a work early in the morning.
The Sixth Day by author Catherine Coulter and J.T. Ellison is the 5th book of the series “A Brit in the FBI”. There are several interesting themes going on in this book. It is easy to read and you may wonder how special agents Nicholas Drummond and Michaela Caine will solve the perplexing mysteries while they are on a visit in England with Nicholas’ family. His father’s company has been compromised due to a hack and ransomware being integrated into their computers and software systems. During this scramble to help, ‘Mike’ is contacted regarding suspicious and unexpected deaths of several important people around the world. The common factor in the deaths has to do with injections which were administered from a drone and the presence of a falcon being seen close to the victim. Very Strange!
As the story progresses the reader will be drawn into the intrigue of twin language and a reference to the Voynich Manuscript, a secret language of letters and stories which can interact with gifted people who have an ancient line of Romanian blood dating back to Dracula. This seemed a bit more on the fantasy side but was still interesting. One of the villains has a brother who suffers from hemophilia and they research and practice their own medical trials to find a cure for the brother.
It is an interesting book with opportunities for the readers to use their sense of adventure as they enjoy the book.
I really like the Covert Eyes group and the energy of Nick and Mike together!
Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Love this series!
Very interesting to read. Her books are great
Excellent series…
Another great read in the Brit in the FBI series. Special agents Nicholas Drummond and Michaela Caine and the Covert Eyes teams up with MI5 in this thrilling race against the clock, with multiple unique characters and mysteries to solve. Highly recommend this great read.
This 5th book in the Brit in the FBI is as great as the others. A combination of computer and drone genius threatens Great Britain. Twin brothers, one with a devastating hemlphiac condition, are searching for a cure by finding an ancient text written in a twin language decipherable only by twin descendants of Count Dracul. They have financed their research by creating incredible security software and an army of drones they plan to sell to British patriots who want to destroy the African terrorists. Things go terribly wrong. Soon important Brits are assassinated and FBI team Covert Eyes become involved. This is an action packed thriller that was hard to stop reading.
Coulter and Ellison deliver a must-read story earning a five-star ranking.
Nicholas Drummond and Michaela (Mike) Caine, along with MI5, MI6 and Covert Eyes are on the hunt for someone killing off major political figures and the reason as to why they are dying. Also intertwined within the story is the mysterious Voynich Manuscript and where it come from and what it means.
Catherine Coulter and J T Ellison have collaborated to write a fantastic series. The story keeps you going n the edge of your seat. Full of action and drama with every turn of the page. The story details and explains great historical markers in England which helps in visualizing where everything is taking place
I absolutely loved this book! I have enjoyed Catherine Coulter and AJ T Ellison’s books separately, but I really enjoy them writing together. I highly recommend this book and the series.
The Sixth Day is the fifth in the A Brit in the FBI series and the first one that I have read. Set in London, Nicholas Drummond, the Brit, and his American partner, Michaela (Mike), are spending their vacation visiting his family but get drawn into an investigation regarding large-scale computer hacking and assassinations of political figures. At the same time, a British Museum scholar is kidnapped possibly because of her knowledge of the Voynich papers, which seem to have provenance all the way back to Vlad Dracul. Are these incidents related?
With this combination, the book immediately draws in the reader and is fast-paced and action-filled throughout. Nicholas and Mike, part of the FBI’s “Covert Eyes” team, make great partners both on the job and off and have a supporting cast of characters that keep them right in the middle of all the action. The Sixth Day alternates from the past to the present and gives the reader quite a lot to think about, and possibly lose sleep over. Although I have not read any of the prior installments of A Brit in the FBI, this book easily stands on its own.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are solely my own.
Love this series from Catherine Coulter. The Sixth Day is definitely not disappointing. It is fast paced, and keeps you guessing as to what will happen next. The characters are fascinating and believable. Can’t wait until the next one!
I enjoy all her books
What a good book, enjoyed it very much-love this series!!!
Love this new series!!!! Highly recommend these books!!!
A corking good thriller, this seems to be a bit of a crossover among the authors’ series. It borders on hard scifi, exploiting computer weaknesses and the latest advances in drone technology, adding a hint of paranormal (Dracula, anyone?). The action alternates between modern and historic times, offering possible explanations for the confluences of events. Like the best villains, ours is larger than life and truly thinks his motives are noble and for the greater good of mankind as he descends into drug-assisted megalomania. This is not the spoiler you might fear since you’ll have to meet a number of candidates for this position and there are a few twists and turns to keep you on your toes. Well written and fast-paced, with likable heroes and a great sense of teamwork.
Good action,entertaining
Love the Brit in the FBI series. Great Characters. Fast paced. Original. Haunting to think what can be done with computers & drones.
Another non-stop adventure! I just love Nicholas and Mike. They were supposed to be on vacation, but then a high ranking official is killed, a virus is let free in almost all the computers in England, there is an amazing discovery at the museum and someone tries to kill Nicholas and Mike. They are just recuperating from their last adventure. All this seems to be connected, but how? Nicholas’ dad is helping them track down the killer that has set a group of drones loose on everyone. Will they be able to save the US president, the Queen and the PM in time? Loved this story and didn’t want to put it down.
