Olivia Lane wants to become the premiere event planner for Blue Moon Bay’s rich and famous. But first she has to impress Greta von Strand—millionaire and bestselling author of Men: Who Needs Them?—by pulling off a two-week luxury getaway for women. The retreat’s all about getting women to embrace their independence by nurturing themselves and each other, and Olivia, who’s never been lucky-in-love … lucky-in-love herself, is looking forward to it.
The retreat and Olivia’s goals hit a roadblock, however, when sweet-talking firefighter, Brody Mitchell, and his smoking hot friends take up residence at the mansion next door. Now, she must successfully keep Greta and the other women away from their male neighbors, fight her attraction to Brody, and pull off the retreat of a lifetime in one fell swoop.
It’s a battle of the sexes she’s determined to win, otherwise she could lose everything—including her heart.

I have loved every book by Susan Hatler since I found her books 5 months ago. I loved this story and enjoyed the romance and comedy she brings to her characters and stories.

Funny and romantic
3.5
The story is funny, tender and romantic, but predictable.
Olivia decides to create her event business and begins with a retreat for women who need to see no more men for 15 days to regain self-confidence. She obtains the sponsorship of a successful author for self-esteem. However, from the first day, she discovers that the neighboring villa has only men and that the temptation may be difficult for some of her clients. In addition, her bestselling author Greta had written her book after a break up with the person who is none other than the owner of the house next to hers, who also hosts his nephew, Brody, to whom Olivia is drawn.
Each day then becomes an ordeal that places Olivia in front of her professional and personal doubts.

What a fun book this was. I’ll be honest, I generally read romance novels with a higher level of spice and heat, but this was just a fun book to read. The story was engaging and entertaining, and Olivia was a character that I could totally relate to. I just wanted to see how this all worked out for her!
Olivia is just getting over a breakup and trying to prove that she doesn’t meet a man, and of course that is when she crosses paths with Brody. Brody is patient and persistent, and he makes sure that he doesn’t lose the opportunity for love just because he happened to show up at the wrong time for Olivia!
A very funny, sweet, clean romance.
The author has done it again. We are given characters we can connect with and wish that they were our friends. The characters are well rounded and the story flows smoothly.

I love this crew from Blue Moon Bay and their legend of the kiss! Olivia and her up and coming catering business and the women’s retreat she’s doing are in for a treat with the house next door. Brody and his team of firefighters are staying at his uncles beach house to have a memorial for a fallen comrade. Olivia and Brody dare to kiss at the famous Blue Moon Bay Designated spot. What a fun addition to this series!

This book and I had a bit of a love-hate relationship going on. I loved the messages of being strong enough to be independent; not needing another person to “complete you”. Where this all fell apart for me was that while Olivia was spouting all the self-help dogma she’d absorbed about how a strong, independent woman was supposed to behave she then caved to everyone else’s impossible demands. And I wasn’t completely impressed with Brody either. I liked how sweetly solicitous he is of Olivia, however I thought he was holding her to a double-standard. It felt like she had to tread lightly around his emotional triggers while he gave very little consideration to hers. I really liked the first book in this series so I’m going to continue, but this definitely wasn’t my favorite.
This book was a wonderful book about learning to be an independent woman while at the same time learning to balance a romantic relationship with work. I adored the two characters and their struggles with miscommunication and insecurities. This is a sweet clean read for those of readers who prefer this type of romance.
The only downside for me was that the story was written from Olivia’s POV only. Brody’s POV was not included. I would have like to have connected with him more.
Always love her books
I enjoyed reading Olivia’s story about broken relationships and the journey to healing. Olivia is a strong woman, tho at times she seems younger than she portrays in the storyline. Olivia is determined to heal from a back breakup and not fall once again, until Brody. Olivia’s plan may have worked if Brody would not have been so determined that she can have both success and the love of a good man. I love the interaction with Olivia and Brody and how he broke down her walls. However I did feel short on it mostly being her POV. Olivia’s story is realistic and relatable. I really enjoyed reading it.
Not as great as her other books
….
An okay read but a bit far-fetched.
I enjoyed reading this book loved the funny parts
Very drawn out, skipped thru1:2 of book
Interesting story until it started to repeat. Fun, easygoing read.
This book was so repetitive and boring. It wasn’t cute like I thought it would be, just a waste of my time.
