Olivia Lane wants to become the premiere event planner for Blue Moon Bay’s rich and famous. But first she has to impress Greta von Strand—millionaire and bestselling author of Men: Who Needs Them?—by pulling off a two-week luxury getaway for women. The retreat’s all about getting women to embrace their independence by nurturing themselves and each other, and Olivia, who’s never been lucky-in-love … lucky-in-love herself, is looking forward to it.
The retreat and Olivia’s goals hit a roadblock, however, when sweet-talking firefighter, Brody Mitchell, and his smoking hot friends take up residence at the mansion next door. Now, she must successfully keep Greta and the other women away from their male neighbors, fight her attraction to Brody, and pull off the retreat of a lifetime in one fell swoop.
It’s a battle of the sexes she’s determined to win, otherwise she could lose everything—including her heart.

Olivia Lane wants to become the premiere event planner for Blue Moon Bay’s rich and famous, and she now has an opportunity to prove herself worthy! She has convinced the author of a bestselling book, “Men: Who Needs Them?” that doing a retreat for women would teach them skills for being independent of men. However, her well-planned event may be sabotaged when Brody and a bunch of firefighters move into the building next door for their own retreat! Will Olivia lose everything she is trying for? Or will she gain something even better?
This is an enjoyable, fun book with all the things a reader looks for: laughter, entertainment, and, of course, romance! The story line is very good, well-paced, and the characters are likable. Grab your copy and enjoy an author whose stories never get old!
This is the second book in the Kissed by the Bay series and my favorite so far! I was hooked from the first page. Olivia is in a job she hates and is trying to get her business as an event coordinator off the ground. Brody is a firefighter, a bit mysterious, but so sweet. I adored the characters Olivia and Brody, and their romance is swoon-worthy. This story is well written, with an engaging storyline, it’s humorous, and romantic, a wonderful read and one I definitely recommend.

Olivia is another feisty woman who has faced more than her share of romantic challenges
self help books seem to just set you up for more trouble in terms of romance, though honestly, advice from other women does much the same thing. Olivia finds herself in the shoes of a woman ill prepared to face the next challenges – Brody is just too much. Maybe that’s just what she needs!
With flair and elan, our heroine moves ahead with her life and romance
Fun and flirty – and great ironic commentary on romance, love, life and all the ways we try to cope with them and those crazy men!
Enjoyed it enough to read another in series. Had me smiling. Had me shaking my head. Had me rooting for the characters.
This author can take a simple issue and write a excellent book. Good reading!!
loved this book and I’m sure I will be reading more by this author.
I really enjoyed reading this book!
It is an adorable story.
Olivia wants more out of life then just working in the seafood department.
She is starting an event planning business. Her first client is a successful author. She has Olivia plan a two retreat for women. No men allowed.
But, someone forgot to tell the hot neighbors, next door. Olivia noticed
Brody is among them. She had met him recently at the bar where he worked. Olivia & Brody’s chemistry is undeniable.
Right now, her business is Olivia’s
first priority.
Hold on! Olivia has her hands full. Friendship’s bonding, neighbors flirting, midnight rendezvous
& ex-boyfriend’s appearing.
A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE!!
The book was fun to read and taking a different turn from most like this, until the end. Then it very quickly turned into every other book and wrapped things up in what seemed like a few pages.
Great clean romance book.
I love anything Susan Hatler writes.
This book was fantastic. I recommend it!
Olivia swears off men after a bad relationship and reading a woman power book. Instead of being about independence, it’s focus and inspiration was one of hate. That hate was born from a lack of communication and Olivia is guilty of the same and jumping to conclusions. Brody keeps going after her, and I have no idea why. I kept waiting to read Brody’s POV.
Susan Hatler did another great story. I am loving the setting of the stories in this series. This was a really cool story and so different. I quickly identified with the main character and at times caught myself wanting to jump into the story to shake the main character and help her. Loved the story and could not put it down.

This is another great book by Susan Hatler. It is devoid of mature scenes and language. The characters are full rounded and easy to imagine. The story is captivating. The main character grew through the story and learned a lot.
The story follows Olivia. She has just opened up a new event planning business. Her mentor has given her a chance to conduct a women’s retreat away from all men. But then comes Brody and his friends. At the retreat, he is staying at the house next door. This causes Olivia a lot of trouble.
I wrote this voluntary review in exchange for an ARC copy.
I appreciate stories that don’t feel the need to give sex instruction and bad language
I liked the book. At first I was hesitant since it took a little bit for the story to unfold, but it ended up being super cute and I couldn’t put it down! I wish it would have ended differently though and would have had a longer epilogue or something into the future a bit. Good overall read!
The Perfect Kiss is #2 in the Kissed By The Bay series written by Susan Hatler.

Brody Mitchel is a firefighter who thinks he can sweet talk anyone including her. He and some of his friends move next door so she must make sure all women stay away from them.
Will Brody sweet talk his way into her life?

If you are looking for a fun and sweet story filled with banter and misunderstandings, this is it. Olivia can’t help but be attracted to Brody but Brody doesn’t help with his persistence. In the middle of a retreat for women to become independent from men, the women are filled with the men next door. It’s fun and sexy and I liked Olivia trying to fight her pull towards Brody while also proving herself.

A romantic comedy. Loved Olivia’s parents. Several second chance romances in this book. Poor Olivia. She has been working at a fish market ever since high school and wants to start her own business and stop smelling fishy. Her first job as an even planner is a women’s retreat about women being independent and not needing men to be happy. And because of a bad breakup Olivia is off men and focusing on her new career. But on the eve of her first event she meets a hot new bartender but regrettably turns him down when he asks her out on a date. Imagine her surprise the next day, the beginning of the retreat, she sees him again. He and a bunch of his firefighter co-workers are staying in the house next door. How will the women ever concentrate on the retreat, when there is a house full of half-naked young firefighters playing volleyball on the beach next door?
