Olivia Lane wants to become the premiere event planner for Blue Moon Bay’s rich and famous. But first she has to impress Greta von Strand—millionaire and bestselling author of Men: Who Needs Them?—by pulling off a two-week luxury getaway for women. The retreat’s all about getting women to embrace their independence by nurturing themselves and each other, and Olivia, who’s never been lucky-in-love … lucky-in-love herself, is looking forward to it.
The retreat and Olivia’s goals hit a roadblock, however, when sweet-talking firefighter, Brody Mitchell, and his smoking hot friends take up residence at the mansion next door. Now, she must successfully keep Greta and the other women away from their male neighbors, fight her attraction to Brody, and pull off the retreat of a lifetime in one fell swoop.
It’s a battle of the sexes she’s determined to win, otherwise she could lose everything—including her heart.

The Perfect Kiss was a quick read for me. The premise of the book made me chuckle but I can honestly say that I can definitely see the planned event, or events (!), like this happening every day. Olivia Lane currently feels stuck in life. She is trying to get an event planning business up and running so she can leave her “day” job, working in a fish market, where she feels she can finally feel accomplished and successful. Predictably, life throws her curve balls! While she is on a man moratorium, she meets Brody Mitchell. I won’t give any spoilers but it takes a while (in the story) for Olivia to even know who Brody is or what he does for a living.
For me, Olivia took a long time to even admit to herself that she had some issues to deal with in her personal life. I thought Brody could have used a kick in the behind too, to use his voice and actually speak to Olivia but then again, there wouldn’t be much of a story. These two were likable characters and think that most of their decisions would be what anyone would say or do in life. The story is really about how they both “win” in a battle of the sexes, as the author describes it, and what happens along the way. Sometimes the book took a long time to get where it needed to but I did like it! And OMG, the author Greta von Strand…I’ll bet every author out there hopes they don’t show THIS face to the world!
I loved this book by Susan Hatler. It was funny how Greta expected Olivia to keep the neighbors from using the beach in front of their own house just because they were men. Brody was using his uncle’s house after losing his fire chief. The widow asked him to spread his ashes for her. He meets Olivia when he is helping out in his uncles bar and starts to have feelings with her. Olivia asks him and his friends to join the women’s conference with their outings. He feels hurt when he finds out that they are there for temptations to see if the women can refrain from men. Olivia must decide if her job or love is more important.

A girlfriends retreat, with no men allowed – heaven! Wait, the house next door is all firemen – oh crap! Fun situations, banter and plenty of sass. Olivia and Brody compliment each other and have to open up and take down the walls, to make it work. Loved the ending. I will definitely be reading more by the author.

I really liked this book but wow did Olivia have a rough ride through it. Olivia is organizing a women’s retreat to encourage single independent women. The neighbors are a group of firefighters who are temptation for the women. This premise is pretty funny. Brody likes Olivia and tries to ask her out but she’s focusing on her career. It seems like nothing goes right and there are even misunderstandings with Brody. Luckily by the end of the book there are plenty of resolutions, answers, and several HEAs.

Olivia had a bad breakup and as an event planner she wants to succeed in her business, she plans a two week women only retreat that she needs to be successful. Brody and his firefighters colleagues happen to be at the next house having a vacation/retreat of their own. Well…encounters, flirting, misunderstandings, falling in love happens and the rest is history…this story is written in Susan Hatler’s feel-good sweet romance that I enjoy and like so much…so I highly recommend it.

The second book in the Blue Moon Bay series a well written story of two women who did not trust the men they love. Greta von Strand saw something that she thought Scotty did three years ago and ran, now Olivia is doing the same thing to Brody. Will these women realize the mistake they have made? I enjoyed seeing this story come together. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the second book of the Blue Moon Bay series. What a lovely series this is! Ms. Hatler always has such charming stories and this one certainly did not disappoint. Olivia has had it with men and plans this wonderful women’s retreat, void of men. However, when she arrives at the retreat she meets Brody, who is staying with his group on their own retreat (more men!) in the beach house next to hers! Oh what fun I had reading this, and the dialogue was just laugh out loud amazing. There’s humor, romance, and real people with real problems. All that combined with a great storyline and witty banter, not to mention amazing characters, made this such a delightful read. Love this series and can’t wait to read more!

A sweet and tempting read
The Sisterhood Promise is the second book in the Blue Moon Bay series. It is a sweet and fun/funny story about Olivia and Brody who wind up being “neighbors” at the worst time….or maybe it is the best time. Olivia has worked at the fish market since she graduated high school but really what she wants to be is an event planner. So when she finally is hired by a self help author to plan and oversee a two week women’s retreat she is ecstatic and ready for it. The only problem is that on the first day she discovers that the house next door is filled with half-naked firefighters who could start their own 5 alarm blaze. But the worst is that the hot bartender she met the night before the retreat is also living next door, as he just so happens to able be a firefighter. He had asked her out and she had turned him down. But now that they are neighbors he is a flirting temptation that she is finding hard to resist, especially as he knows what he wants and that would be her.
This is a sweet, clean and fun story.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
I received the book from Hatco Publishing through NetGalley for an honest review. Olivia wanted to start her own event planning business, so she teamed up with a famous author to do a two-week women’s retreat. This would help launch her own business if it worked out.
Sometimes our plans and the plan’s life has for us is two different things.
Olivia met Brody who was a bartender and the attraction was instant, and you could feel the chemistry come off the pages. But, Olivia’s women’s retreat was being independent and swearing off men. Yes, it was like, life took that as a challenge because Brody was also a firefighter, and they had lost one of their own. The firefighters were staying next door for two weeks in Brody’s uncle’s mansion.
Twp weeks of being on the beach, what could possibly go wrong or right? As you enjoy this easy to read story you will enjoy finding out.
This is a book in a series but definitely can be read as a stand-alone book.
Olivia has sworn off men after a bad breakup. She’s trying to get her Event Planning business off to a great start so she can leave her smelly, dead end job. The retreat she is planning is For Women Only! No Men Allowed! Some humorous twists and unexpected turns occur along the way.

This book is the second book in the series, but this novel is very PG, so I think it is PG enough for ages 13 and up. Was a cute read, not the craziest, but still nice to read. Love this author!

A quick yet enjoyable read that gives you moments where you can’t help but laugh. It’s easy to get to know the characters and their story of their journey to love and HEA is entertaining. The characters are well developed and easy to relate to. Another great romance from Susan that you don’t want to miss.

It is about Olivia wanting to be the event planner for Blue Moon Bay. She has to plan a weekend getaway for women to empower them. The mansion next door is the home of Brody and his boys. Did I mention the woman she needs to impress wrote a book titled Men? Who Needs Them. So what is a girl going to do with Brody who is pursuing Olivia and has a house full of men. I thought it was a sweet read and the characters were likable and believable. It is a solid story and solid writing. I liked it.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. Olivia is trying to get her name out there as a party and event planner. She gets the opportunity to plan a womens retreat for a prominent author. No men are planned or expected. The author and guests have a theme of not needing any men. Poor Olivia is blindsided when she learns who is next door to her retreat, and he has a bunch of hot men with him. These two create a few laughs, some anxious moments, heart breaking choices and a love that will last. I enjoyed the characters and their love story.

She is doing a party just for women and she hopes it will go great. The neighbour is also having a party but just for men. Can she keep the women under control? Can she stop them joining the men? Even worse he is a yummy firefighter. Can she gets this retreat to great? See how the retreat will go

I always enjoy being asked to review one of Ms Hatler’s books since it gives me and excuse to re-read it sooner than I had planned to! This second episode of the Kissed by the Bay series meets all my expectations for an entertaining read and left me feeling so ready to more in this series (again, I might add)
