The Sister Pact: Home is Where The Heart is by Jacquie Biggar – Review by Gail Guerrero
Four Stars
I couldn’t imagine going through life with my sisters. Or how I would feel if one of them stepped on our bond for a guy. Holly is an enjoyable character. She is trying to mend the bond between her and her sister. Running away to live the dream has found her right back at the beginning. Only this time Levi is there and the atmosphere is steamy. The author pulled emotions out of me that I wasn’t sure I had anymore. You truly hang onto every last word the author wrote. You want to be there for the happy and the sad. You truly will want the best for Holly and Levi. I couldn’t wait to get to the end so that I could breathe. My heart fluttered for the love Holly had for her sister and the blossom of love blooming for Levi.
The Sister Pact by Jacquie Biggar a five-star read that will warm your heart. This was my second read by this author as I had previously read a story as part of anthology and enjoyed it, so I was excited to see this one pop up. Family are always the hardest to deal with and Jacquie Biggar does the relationship justice as she has a way with words, they portray the difficulties as well as the joys. There is a lot of drama and passion and baggage between Holly and Susan and as you read you get sucked into that and they make you part of the story. Then you have the story of Holly and the hopeful Levi and that just adds extra dimension to this story. This is a sweet and compelling read and one you need in your life.
I absolutely loved this book. Its nice to slow down a bit from the drama, fast paced, super steamy books and this did just that.
Holly has to end her career and heads home, reluctant as she may be, and from beginning to end this story had me so wrapped up in it all.
This authors writing was amazing and made you feel as if you were right there with the characters and going through it all with them.
The Sister Pact: Home is Where the Heart is by Jacquie Biggar is a great story. I found out for myself that this is an emotional read. Jacquie Biggar’s story has fiction, romance, and mystery all rolled up in this story. This story gives me hope that the relationship between sisters is a strong bond. No matter how far apart they will always have one another. This story is about Holly and Levi/ They are sisters who have grown apart. There is some bad blood and now Holly wants to make things right with Levi. Will Holly and Levi make up and let the past in the past? This is an emotional read so cuddle up with a blanket and a box of tissues and enjoy the story.
Real characters plus authentic emotion equals a fantastic book. This story was one I immediately connected to. I was invested in the characters and plot from page one and simply devoured the book as quickly as I could. I haven’t read anything by Biggar before but certainly look forward to reading more from her. A fantastic book that I highly recommend!
The Sister Pact: Home Is Where The Heart is, is the first book that I have read by Jacquie Bigger. If this book is anything to go by, then it won’t be the last of her book that I will read. I loved this book so much.
Holly Tremaine has returned home as she is suffering from a life threatening disease and has had to take a break from her job as a violinist. Holly had left home to chase her dream and escape her family. Holly was devastated when her sister Susan got pregnant by Holly’s boyfriend Steven and then married him. So you guess that coming home would not be easy for Holly. Added to that Holly has then slept with Steven’s twin Levi at Susan and Steven’s wedding. A recipe for fun and games!
The sexual tension is evident immediately between Levi and Holly but she does everything possible to fight the pull that he has on her.
I really loved this story. The interactions between Holly and Levi are fantastic to read but in addition, I loved the interactions between the 2 sisters as they tried to mend their broken relationship. This story pulled me in straight away and I was hooked to the very end. I was unable to put this book down and had a late night as I read and read to get it finished. It really was that good.
100% recommend this book.
The Sister Pact: Home is Where the Heart Is by Jacquie Biggar is a easy flowing feel good story. Sisters Susan and Holly have their differences just like any other siblings. After being away from home for eight long years to pursue her passion for music, Holly has returned. She returns with the hope of making amends with her sister after being betrayed, but finds her family on the brink of imploding. In the end family is everything and they were able to mend the fence when they remember the pact they made: sisters forever.
The Sister Pact: Home is Where The Heart is by Jacquie Biggar is a romance story that is full of heartache and emotions. It is a story of a family in crisis and not being able to relate to each other. This is a good quick and easy to read story.
Holly Tremaine has returned home after many years away to follow her dream of music and escape from the betrayal of family and love. Now she is home she finds that everyone is disconnected and as hard as it is she needs to make amend. But she comes home with a secret that she has not shared with anyone and now more than ever she needs them all in her corner. She also reconnects with someone who can finally make her whole.
If you love short, sweet stories, The Sister Pact is the book for you. This was a very quick read, and it had me hooked from the beginning. I loved watching (reading) the reconnections, the drama and the blossoming love. This is a story that will make you feel good, with a fulfilling ending. This was a very enthralling, well written novel. I highly recommend!
This was a pleasure to read. It was easy, short, and heartwarming. I liked the pace of the book and the relationship between the two sisters and the overall family dynamics.
I have really come to love Jacquie Biggar’s sweet romances and this one, The Sister Pact: Home is Where The Heart is, is no exception to the rule. We got such a sweet and heartwarming, and at times also sad story with this one. I really loved the main characters and how they seemed to both remain strong and on equal ground. Holly is our main gal, and honestly super lovable. It is hard when you discover she has a life threatening illness that will send her home and away from the career she loved. Levi is our swoony male lead and once he sees Holly he is reminded of the feelings that he has always had for her but never been able to see to fruition. Will these two get a chance at love before time runs out? Watch for those subtle twists that you won’t see coming but will make perfect sense in the end. I loved this book and I can’t wait to see what will come next from Ms. Biggar!
The Sister Pact: Home is Where The Heart is by Jacquie Biggar. This book is amazing. I seriously started it and didn’t put it down until the end. Its the story of Holly Tremaine a professional musician who is coming home for the holidays against her better judgment, after being in the hospital with a serious illness that caused her career to come to an abrupt halt. Her sister Susan ended up marrying the man Holly was in love with and now has a family with him so Holly knows its going to be uncomfortable. Holly’s parents are not the happiest couple either so that makes things even more tense. Levi Anderson is Steve’s brother who Holly had a drunken one night stand with after her sister’s wedding. He’s in town and wants more from Holly than another one night stand. Will Holly and her sister Susan work out their relationship, will Holly fall for Levi? Levi is determined to do what it takes to win Holly’s heart this time. Will Holly’s health be ok? This book is full of emotions and will have you up and down like a roller coaster! I loved it!
This book starts off with the Sister not talking. Now situations are changing these sister are trying to let bygones be bygones. This is a very heartfelt book were you are connecting Holly and Susan alot. You feel for the sisters and the current situation. You can’t miss this emotional story of these sisters.

The Sister Pact: Home is Where The Heart Is by Jacquie Biggar is a women’s fiction story woven with a little drama, romance and mystery. I have read several of Ms. Biggar’s stories now and have found that I can really count on her for a great read.
This is all about family, betrayal, past pain, life lessons, and making peace with it all. The characters are interesting, well-crafted individuals who pulled me into the story and had me investing in them and in how everything would play out. They were so realistic and very believable- making this story quite relatable. It was so easy to connect with them and follow along for the ride.
Looking forward to more from Ms. Biggar.
Thank you, Jacquie Biggar!
Even once close families can hit bumpy patches, and for Holly, in this book, the bumps have become chasms. And for good reason. Her sister stole her boyfriend, the man she intended to marry. So when Holly had a chance to follow her dream as a violinist, she left home and never returned. But when she suffers from Lyme disease and has to take time to recover, she realizes family is too important to walk away from. The problem is, when she returns home, her entire family’s going down the tubes. As in real life, sometimes you just have to swallow your hurt, forgive, and start over. And the brother of the man she thought she’d loved is there to help her through it. I really enjoyed the relationship between Holly and Levi. I liked both of them so much. Holly’s parents felt real to me, too, even their struggle to be a couple instead of just parents. I felt for them, as they loved each other but couldn’t hold their marriage together. It took their kids to move them to the next step and to realize what they were throwing away. I liked it that Susan, Holly’s sister, was reaching her own crunch time, but I never really got a handle on her. There were clues to why she betrayed Holly, but she mostly sounded selfish and she never really apologized or changed toward her. She just accepted Holly’s forgiveness and love. She compromised with her husband and realized she really did love him, but she never quite came together for me. Regardless, this book showed a realistic view of a family in turmoil, and most of us–maybe all of us–have been there, done that. And I enjoyed watching the different members work through old emotional sludge to fight their way to a new beginning. Even better, the good always outweighed the bad so that this was an enjoyable read.
The Sister Pact: Home is Where The Heart Is by Jacquie Biggar is a book so well written it will feel like you are part of this family.
This is the first book that I have read by this author and I can definitely say it will not be my last. This book absolutely captivated me from the start. The author does an incredible job of drawing you into the world of these characters and really making them seem real.
For me it really felt like this book was all about the story. It was well developed and interesting. The author didn’t rely on all the usual tricks you find in some many books and instead has clearly focused on writing a great book. I would definitely highly recommend this book to everyone and I cannot wait to read of this authors work.

Not sure why but this is my first book by this author and I loved it. I love a break sometimes from the heavy drama and the too hot scenes, not that I don’t love those too but this story was refreshing while still being very emotional, and I enjoyed every single word. I love this author’s style of writing, very smooth and easy to read.
I have 4 daughters, and although I’ve never dealt with this sort of conflict described in this story I’ve seen many others play out over the years and this book felt so real. The conversations felt real, the feelings were described in a way that made me feel them. I seem to gravitate toward the deep family stories lately and the emotions that go with them, this was an amazingly written book and as I said above, not sure why this is my first read by this author, but I can guarantee I have already looked at what else is available and my tbr has grown and I’ll be watching for any and everything from this point on.
Thank you Miss Biggar for keeping it real and allowing me to connect with the characters in this book!
Loved it!!
I can’t even begin to tell you what a pleasure this book was. The Sister Pact: Home is Where the Heart is by Jacquie Biggar was such a delight. A good clean romance with a situation between sisters that seems insurmountable. Sometimes things happen in families that there seems there is just no coming back from. Someone has to be willing to cross the bridge, no matter how painful that is. In some situations time is short and it’s best not to leave it too long. Sometimes you just don’t know what you are missing. This was a great little story about all that. A real easy read that will leave you with a big sigh at the end. So glad I read this one, you will be too.
The drama, especially with the prologue intrigued me and pulled me right into the story. I liked everything about this book from the characters to the drama. What a well written book about a family and its secrets and how those secrets can destroy and hurt those they love. I enjoyed finding out what the sister pact was between Holly and Susan and I was glad to see this family could forgive and start over, and renew vows of love as their family only became stronger. I also liked Holly and how she grew, opened her heart, and truly found herself. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
I loved this book. This is not a new author for me but she continues to impress me with her stories that pull me in from the beginning and this one is no different. It is a well developed, emotional roller coaster of a story that has something for everyone including romance. The characters made the story pop as well as they are connectable and make the story engaging. This is a story of family ties that need healing, remorse, betrayal and so much more. Holly has a life threatening illness that sends her home. There is one woman that Levi hasn’t been able to forget and now temptation is pulling at him. They are great characters and I highly recommend their story.
